abandoned by blood

you've been torn apart

ripped out of the skin

that never seemed to be yours.

your wings drag behind you

due to the weight of your pain

you carry around the burden of words

you were told and believed.

you shout but nobody listens

nobody reaches out to you

you cut away the pain that needs to

be released as if you

were cutting paper into streamers

that you hung up on your wall,

a memory.

your world is surrounded by darkness

engulfing you whole

whsipering nasty things to you,

you set out on a journey,

only this time not to come back.

you reached a cliff by

a waterfall of sorrows

you took a breath and

jumped.

But I was there in enough time

to grab your hand

and pull you up

to save yourself from an ending you do not want.

I saw your wounds

surrounding your fragile body

some were healing

some were deep

some left scars claiming your body.

I felt your pain

felt it turn my blood cold

felt it spark an anger in me

felt what your pain has done to you

betraying you by trying to get rid of you.

I see the tears pouring out of your skin

as if flooding out

the storm that's been

deep down where it hurts the most

you've supressed it so much

it has now broken the dam you've built.

it's time to let it free.

I am here to pick up your skin

and place it back on you

only this time the skin is new

it is yours to wear

yours to keep

yours to call your own.

and soon...

I'll replace my wings with yours,

so you can finally fly

like you've always wished.

But remember something...

I am here to stay

and help you become the angel you were

always meant to be.
