Sunlight
Swallowed up by petals,
sunlight leaking under your skin,
orange highlight around your eyes,
grey haze,
inhaling every
speck of dust that
fell from your hair.
wind caressing a simple heart,
looking for a chance
to feel special.
strings of lavender
sticking to wall of empty.
holes in the grass
the Goddess once laid.
calming breath
with the mornings sorrow tears.
rough scars marked on wood,
trees bare no more lies,
twigs crunch beneath your boot
you used to kick away the pain.
colors mixing together,
having no mercy for light.
the clouds cry too much
for birds are falling apart
lines of failure in the texture of
your skin.
I'm here now,
but I won't stay,
because even though I care,
I don't care enough.
