My Eyes & Words Could Never Do You Justice
Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. -Proverbs 31:29
To my best friend. My sister from a different bloodline. You have never wavered to tell me when I need to get my feet back on the ground or call me out when I make mistakes. When you do the things you are passionate about, you shine brighter than the stars. I've seen you struggle, but you're still standing. You stand because your life has meaning, a purpose higher than what any of us simple humans can speak over you. You're worth more than you can imagine and are destined for greatness.
To my aunt. You've lived a life on your own. Sometimes we get cranky around you because you can be intense. But your intensity has a reason. You're a fighter. When you were struck hard by loss, you held tight to the Creator and let Him guide your life. You share your experience because you know I'm headed towards something similar, a road of finding independence and myself. You mean well with your advice. Always. I'm sorry I don't tell you enough how much you are loved.
To my big sister. I always say you're a badass. You are worthy of admiration. Your tenacity keeps your back straight and your eyes always looking forward. The world can fall apart around you, yet you release silent tears, dry them off, take a deep breath, grab your family in your arms and march on. You find solutions and hope in the darkest of times. You're very wise, wisdom many don't understand. We are different, but I always hope that something of you sticks to me. People can say whatever they want, but you are the bravest woman I know.
Last but never least.
Mom. Breath catches in my throat as I think of you. Tears well up in my eyes. God knows the healing will take a while, but I know it's happening. You were a pillar of my life and an important one. You taught me a lot of what I know, and deep down, I'm a lot like you. I miss everything about you. I was always stuck to your side. You taught me the most important thing: to love others as Jesus loves us. You were a humble woman who loved, not by words, but by actions. You put others first, leaving yourself last. I want to forever remember your smile and the way you would sing all around the house. I promise I will do the same and I pray that, when I'm a mother, my children can have your eyes. I hope I never forget what you taught me so that one day I can tell them all about you.
To all of you women that I know and don't...
Noble. Virtuous. Loving. Admirable. Humble. Worthy. Fierce. Grand women.
You are that and more in the eyes of The One above. My eyes and words could never do you justice.
