Raph | Don't leave me

A/n: Hey guys! I totally lost inspiration for this book, I'm not going to lie, but I finally have found it, and I hope that I'll start updating more frequently.

Word count- 1600 words

Warning- Reader has cancer

Enjoy~

Your POV

You just got back to the lair. You wouldn't have left in the first place, but you had to leave for your chemotherapy appointment.

You had cancer. A horrible kind of Leukemia that coursed through your blood. It's seemed to be slowly killing you.. The chemo was horrible as well, almost worse than the cancer itself. It made you sick and tired. Always tired. You lost your hair, which crippled your self confidence tremendously, but with the help of your three friends, you got over it.

Your friends wouldn't be normal to most. They're turtles—mutant ninja turtles. There's four of them, four brothers. All with different color masks, weapons and personalities.

You love them all to bits. All four of them. But sadly one of them didn't seem to like you, which was extremely hard, especially when he happened to be your crush. You love the other three as friends, as brothers. All but the tough, red-masked, hot-headed turtle.

Sometimes you questioned why you fell for him in the first place, but it became clear to you when you thought about it deeply. You would never ever tell him this, but he's a big softy. He loved his brothers more than anything. You've seen it. He's really tough and hot headed but under it all he is a caring, soft, gentle guy- Turtle.

"(Y/n)!" Mikey ran into the room when he heard your entrance and gave you a hug.

You laughed at the impact and hugged him back. "Hey, Mikey."

"I missed you so much! It's been so long," He stated.

"Mikey, I was over yesterday." You smiled at the youngest turtle and his excitement to see you.

"Still!" He pulled you over to the TV to play some video games. "Mario Kart, Car racing or Call of Duty?" He asked.

"Mario Kart, duh." You smiled as you grabbed your controller. You always wondered why they let Mikey play Call of Duty. But the thought slipped when you selected your (favorite character) and your (favorite cart).

You only got a few rounds in before Leo walked into the room with a Pizza. "Hey, (y/n)," he said, smiling as he put the Pizza on the counter before walking over and giving you a hug.

"Hey, Leo," You said.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

You frowned for a second. The doctors told me you you were only getting worse. It was a horrible thought, that you weren't getting any better, despite the treatments and the pain they caused you.

But you put a smile on, just like you did everyday. "I'm good," you lied.

"That's good." He smiled again. "PIZZA's HERE!" He yelled to everyone else

Shorty after Donnie and Raph were in the kitchen to get Pizza. Donnie grabbed a piece and gave you a side hug before making his way back to the lair.

The remaining four of you had a conversation. Well... mainly Mikey did all of the talking, but he could easily make up for four people all by himself.

That's something you love about him, he's so energetic and talkative. The opposite of you, or at least after you got diagnosed...

You're always tired. So tired. It's hard for you to be open and energetic now.

Raph got up and left to the dojo without a word. You watched him as he walked into the dojo.

"Why don't you talk to him?" Leo asked.

"He hates me." You sighed and rested your head in your palm.

"He doesn't hate you," Leo suggested.

"Haven't you ever heard us talk to one another?" You asked.

"Well no-"

"Exactly! And when we do he always tells me to leave him alone," You said.

"Just keep trying, dudette. He's just a big softy under that tough shell of his." Mikey said. "Don't tell him I said that."

You looked away for a moment, but you looked back only to see Leo and Mikey looking at you with reassuring looks on their faces.

You sighed. "You really want me to, don't you?"

They both nodded.

You groaned before getting up and heading to the dojo. You peeked inside to see Raph punching the dummy. Over and over again. Hard. You were almost scared to interrupt him.

"Hey, Raph," You said quietly, but still loud enough for him to hear.

"What do you need, (y/n)?" He asked. It didn't sound nice either.

"I just wanted to talk," You admitted.

"Can't you see I'm busy right now?" Ouch. That stung a little bit.

"I know, but I've been busy too and I just wanted to you know, hang out a bit."

Aaaanddd he lost his temper. "Can't you come back another time?! I'm busy and don't want to talk to you!"

Tears came to your eyes. You had enough. "Why do you hate me so much!!!" You yelled, almost as loud as Raph. He was obviously caught off guard by the sudden change in your usually calm and quiet temperament.

"All I want to do is hang out! And all you do is push me away like I'm nothing!"

"That's not true!" He shouted.

"Yes it is! You always do! Is it because I'm too nice?! Or shy?!"

"No!-"

"Is it because I have cancer?! Because I'm dying?!" You cried out.

"It's because I love you alright!!!" He admitted.

You felt like a train hit you. Raph loved you. He couldn't. 'Not me, no,' you thought.

"B-but you hate me." Tears rolled down your face.

"No. The exact opposite, actually," He admitted.

"But why do you always yell at me and push me away, then?" You asked.

He looked ashamed. "Because-... because I was trying to push my feelings away. I thought that someone as perfect as you couldn't possibly love a hot-headed mutant like me. So I tried to force myself into not liking you. Okay?"

"But why me?" You asked.

"Because you're perfect, so nice and kind, and despite what you think, you're so beautiful even with no hair or always looking tired, and... forget it. I told you, I'm a freak."

"You're wrong," you said quietly.

Raph looked up at me, an obvious look of surprise overcoming his features. "What?"

"I love you too," You said before pressing your lips onto his.

His lips molded into yours, making your stomach fill with butterflies at the soft and sweet contact. He was so gentle. But you pulled away eventually for air.

"I'm so sorry. I can't believe I was such a jerk." Raph hugged you tightly.

"It's okay, Raph," You said.

"No it's not." He started to cry.

You were utterly shocked. You've never seen, or even have heard of Raph crying before.

"It's okay I promise-"

"No it's not you don't understand, (y/n)! What if you don't make it?" He said.

You've learned to accept the fact that you might not live much longer, but him saying it like that brought tears to my eyes once again. It felt so real and so scary now that someone that you cared about was saying the words, not just the doctor telling you that you might not live to see another year.

"Raph-"

"What if most of the time that we knew each other I was a jerk to you?" His voice cracked.

"Raph-"

"Please don't leave me, (y/n)." He hugged you tighter.

"I promise to try my hardest, Raph." You snuggled into his arms and cried with him...
.
Chemo may be horrible for the person that has to deal with it, but it also is for the people that are close to those effected.

That's how is was for Raph.

You'd go to your appointment and he'd have to stay back at the lair, waiting for you to return with whatever news the doctor would tell you- news that could change your life.

It was so scary to think that you could slip away to where Raph couldn't reach you.

It was so scary for him not being able to protect you. That's all he wanted, was to keep you safe. But he couldn't do anything about the cancer that spread through your veins.

Everyday was a struggle.

Just seeing you feeling so sick and tired everyday made him feel horrible. He loved to snuggle up with you to make you feel better. His brothers would always tease him but he eventually got over it.

You kept your promise. You fought he cancer with everything you had.

And then one day you came back with a smile, the biggest and brightest smile he had ever seen you with.

"The cancer is gone."

Those four words brought Raph so much joy and relief that he cried. His brothers cried as well. They all gave you hugs all day. Well, when Raph wasn't keeping you to himself, that is.

Growing up you always were told, "Don't make promises you can't keep." And you stood with that, even through the hardest time of your life. But you couldn't have done it without Raph at your side. You were so grateful for him, and you reminded him everyday.

"Thank you, Raph."

"For what?"

"Always being there for me. For being a part of my life."

"I love you too."
