~15 years later~
Turtle's POV

As the city buzzed about, with the honking of horns and hustle and bustle, we lived underground. In the sewers to be exact. Why do we live in the sewers you ask. Because we're ninjas. And mutants. But technically we're turtles.

It was our 15th mutation day and we started it like every other day. We trained. Our Sensei, Master Splinter paired us up.
Raph vs Donnie
Mikey vs Leo

We got in our fighting stances. Leo and Mikey were first up.

Leo: Yah!
Mikey: Oh, yeah! Michelangelo is on the move!

Leo strikes but Mikey jumped over him

Leo: Hee-yah!
Mikey: You don't know what to do.

Mikey swung his nunchucks

Mikey: I'm here, I'm there. I could be anywhere. How do you stop what you can't even see?

Mikey tried to strike Leo, but Leo hit him with the hilt of his katana causing Mikey to fall.

Leo: Like that?
Mikey: Good one, Leo.

Next was Donnie and Raph. Donnie was doing tricks with his Bō staff.
Raph didn't even flinch.

Raph: All right Donnie. Put down the staff and no one gets hurt.
Donnie: Uh, you said that last time Raph, and then you hurt me.
Raph: Yeah, but less than I would have.
Donnie: Yeah, right.

Donnie lunged towards Raph and he dodged the swing. Donnie tried to hit Raph and he dodged that to. Donnie closed his eyes and tried to smack Raph with the staff. Dodged. Donnie closed his eyes and tried once more. When he opened his eyes his staff was gone!
Raph spun the staff and broke if in half on his knee.

Donnie: Should've dropped the staff?
Raph: Should've dropped the staff.

Raph used Donnie's staff pieces to beat Donnie's shell.

Donnie: Okay, okay. Ow! I'm down!

Raph turned to Leo and dropped the staff pieces. Donnie took a seat next to Mikey. Mikey stuck his tongue out at Donnie and quickly put it back smiling.

Leo: Onegai shimasu.
Raph: Whatever you say.

Leo readied his katana and Raph readied his Sais. Leo lunged and Raph blocked his Katanas with his Sais.
The struggle was real.
Raph pushed him away and ran towards Leo. Leo swiped his Katanas. Raph dodged and kicked Leo down. Raph tried to advance but Leo knocked him down. Raph got up just as Leo ran towards him. Leo used his katana and knocked one of Raph's sias out of his hand. It flew between Mikey and Donnie. Neither of them moved an inch. Leo and Raph ran towards each other with great speed. Raph knocked Leo's katana out of his hand. He wrapped his Sai around Leo's hand and flipped him over his shoulder. Leo fell to the ground with a thump. He held his hand and groaned.

Raph: Nice try.
???: Ya me!

Everyone turned to the voice. There stood Master Splinter. The boys lined up and sat on their knees while Sensei walked over to them.

Sensei: You all did very well.
Raph: But I did better.
Sensei: This is about self- improvement Raphael. It is not about winning and losing.
Raph:I know, Sensei. But I won and they lost.

Raph put his arms behind his head.
Sensei walked over and hit a pressure point on his neck.

Raph: Ah, ah, ah. But what's really important is that we all did our best. Good job everyone! Ah.

Sensei chuckled.

~ Time skip cuz I'm a lazy piece of trash~

The turtles sat down to a plate of worms and algae made by Mikey.

Donnie: Bleh!
Mikey: There's s little more algae and worms left if anyone wants it. Anybody? Anybody?
Leo: No thanks.
Raph: I'm good.
Donnie: All yours.
Mikey: Well, I guess no one left room for... Cake!
Leo: whoa!
Donnie: It is a cake!
Raph: Made of...algae and...worms.
Leo: what's the frosting made out of?
Mikey: You don't wanna know. Happy mutation day!
Leo+Raph+Donnie: Happy mutation day.
Sensei: Ah, yes. 15 years ago today, our lives changed forever and we became the unlikeliest of families.
Mikey: Tell us the story, master splinter.
Sensei: Michelangelo, I have already told it many times.
Mikey: Please! Pleeeease!

Raph clamped his hand over Mikey's mouth.

Raph: Please. It's the only way to shut Mikey up.

Sensei: Ah, very well. Many years ago, when I was still human, I was leaving the pet store with 4 baby turtles.
Mikey: That was us!
Sensei: Yes. Don't interrupt! I passed a strange man on the street. Something felt off about him. I decided to follow.
???: Go no further. This place is a place where you are not allowed to be in this place. We have been seen in this place by you, so this is not a place that will be left by you.

Splinter attacked the man holding a strange substance and it spilled on him. And the turtles. It turned splinter into a mutated rat and the turtles became more human-like.

Splinter: That was the beginning of our life together. It was the mysterious substance in this canister that, in a way, gave birth to us all.
Mikey:*grabs canister*Mom.
Leo: So Sensei, now that we're 15, I think we're finally ready to go up to the surface, don't you?
Sensei: Yes.
All:* cheering*
Splinter: and no.
Leo:Oh, man
Donnie: Come on
Mikey: Lame
Raph: I hate when he does that.
Sensei: You have grown powerful, but you are still young. You lack the maturity to use your skills wisely.
Donnie: So, Sensei isn't that just no?
Sensei: Yes... and no. Wisdom comes from experience. And experience comes from making mistakes.
Donnie: Aha! So on order for us to gain the wisdom, we have to make the mistakes. So we can go!
Sensei: No.
Donnie: And yes?
Sensei: No!
Donnie:* groans*
Leo: Sensei, we know you're trying to protect us, but we can't spend our whole lives hiding down here.

Sensei turned around to think and he turned back he saw this.

Sensei:Mm. You may go tonight.

The all cheered.

Mikey: High three!

Leo was watching space heroes.

Ryan+Leo: Gentlemen, I have a bold and daring plan. There's no time for hesitation. My orders must be carried out without question.
Crew: Aye, sir!
Raph: You know this show is stupid, right?
Leo: Space heroes is a great show. And captain Ryan is a great hero. Someday, I am gonna be just like him.
Raph: When you do like to hear yourself talk, so your on your way.

Donnie and Mikey ran into the room.

Mikey: Its go time!

Sensei: You are going up to a strange and hostile world. You must maintain awareness at all times.
All:Hai sensei!
Sensei: Stay in the shadows.
All: Hai Sensei!
Sensei: Don't talk to strangers!
All: Hai Sensei!
Sensei: Everyone is a stranger!
All: Hai Sensei.
Sensei: Make sure you go before you leave. The rest rooms up there are filthy!
All:Sensei!?
Sensei: Good luck, my sons.
Donnie: I am so pumped!
Raph:Surface time!
Leo: Here we go!
Mikey: This is gonna be epic!
Sensei: Look both ways before crossing the street!

~To the surface~

Leo lifted up the cover to the sewer and looked around. Seeing nobody there he climbed up. The other followed. They looked around. Trash was everywhere! And a hobo laying on a old mattress.

Mikey: Its so beautiful.
Leo: the city is just full of possibility. There could be an adventure around this corner... Or- or this one... Or this one! There's not but there could be!
Donnie: look at all the computers! Is that the next generation cadmium processor with quantum encryption?
Raph:i don't know Donatello. Is it?
Donnie: it is!
Mikey: guys, guys! Check this out. A hand made out of light. Now it's an eye made out of light. And the hand again! Now the eye's back! Now the hand!

Raph pulled on Miley's bandana tail.

Raph: come one, genius.
Mikey: the eye!

Raph pulled Mikey to the street were Leo and Donnie were standing.

Donnie: so where to next?

Suddenly a young boy on a moped drove up to them. They all stared at each other until Raph scared him off by making a scary face. He drove off screaming, dropping a box on the way.

Raph: Ha ha that was kind of fun.
Leo: we're too exposed out here.

He looked to the rooftops

Leo: come on

Everyone followed except Mikey. He took the box that the boy dropped. And showed his brothers.
~ on the roof tops~

Mikey: Pizz-a?
Donnie: should we open it?
Leo: careful! It could be dangerous.

Raph opened the box.

Donnie: I think it's... Food.
Raph: it's not like any food I ever saw.
Mikey: I'll try it.

Mikey picked up a slice and bit into it. An explosion of flavored was in his mouth and he shoved the whole thing in his mouth.

Mikey: mmmmm! Uh yuck. You guys won't like it. I'll take the rest.
Donnie: no way!
Leo: nun-uh!
Raph: back off! I never thought I'd taste anything better than worms and algae, but this is amazing!
Mikey: I love it up here!!!

The turtles jumped from building to building. Not noticed by anyone. They soon slid to a stop to look over the city.

Leo:all right guys, it's getting late. We should probably head back home.
Raph:*groan*
Mikey: lame
Donnie: guys! Look at that!

Donnie was pointing to two girls and a man walking down the street. He was looking at the girl with ginger hair and blue eyes.

Donnie: she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
Raph: isn't she the only girl you ever seen?
Donnie: my point still stands.

Suddenly a white van drove right infront of them. Out walked 4 four men that looked exactly the same. They walked closer and closer to the strangers.

Man:what is this?
Donnie: we gotta save 'Em!
Leo: splinter's instructions were very clear. We're suppose to stay away from people. And bathrooms.
Raph: I thought you wanted to be a hero. Since when did heroes ask for permission?
Leo: they don't. But-
Donnie: well, I'm going!

Raph and Mikey followed Donnie. Leo just sighed and followed.

Girl 1: help!
Girl 2: help!
Raph: hey

Raph punched the man in the stomach and he slid backwards. The man stood back up.

~ lame fight scene~

Girl 1: hey cut it out, stop!
Girl 2: you better put me down!

Donnie threw his staff at the man holding his crush and Mikey threw his nunchucks at the other. Both girls shot up in the air. Donnie and Mikey caught them. The girl in Donnie's arms screamed and Donnie screamed back which caused him to drop her. The other girl was pretty chill with Mikey saving her.

Girl 2: thanks.
Donnie: Nonono don't worry we're the good guys.
Girl 1: * scream*
Donnie: it's okay.

The men started closing in and she looked back at Donnie. Donnie held out his hand.mikey was thrown into Donnie cuz the man took the girl in his arms and kicked him. The van drove away.

Donnie they're getting away! They got the girls!
Raph: you just stabbed me with you sword!
Leo: well I didn't know you were gonna land where I was stabbing!

Mikey went to follow his brothers when he saw one of the men standing behind him. He took out his nunchucks.

Mikey: you think you're tough, huh?!You think you tough enough to stand up to my hot nunchuck fury?!

Mikey threw is nunchucks around. Doing tricks and flips in the air while the man stood still. He hit the man with his weapon but he didn't move. He threw it at the man's face and the man caught it and took it from Mikey.

Mikey: I see. Well then...ahh!

Mikey ran away. The man followed. Mikey ended up in a dead end. The man got closer and closer.

Mikey: stay back. Stay back!

Mikey turned his nunchuck into a Kusarigama. And slashed the mans face. He started to spark.

Mikey: what the-

Mikey went over to the man and turned him over. It was a robot.

Mikey: that is all kinds of wrong.

The robot shut down and a brain thing in his chest started screaming while caused Mikey to scream. The brain thing latched onto Mikey's face and started to fight him. Mikey desperately tried to get the brain thing off. When he did get it off it ran away. Mikey ran to his brothers.

Mikey: Guys! Guys! You're never gonna believe this. That dude, he- he...had a brain!
Leo: we all have brains, Mikey.
Donnie: not all of us.
Mikey: in our chests!?
Leo: no Mikey. Not in our chests.
Mikey: you're not listening to me!

Leo slapped Mikey

Mikey: did you just slap me?
Leo: I was calming you down.
Mikey why would that calm me down!?
Donnie: I think he's delusional.
Mikey: just-just-come here. I'm telling you. The big guy was a robot and he had a freaky-weird alien brain thing in his chest! You gotta believe me.
Raph: I'm not sure we do
Mikey: oh yeah? Well, you'll change you tune when you see that he's- gone?

His brother walked away. And Mikey slowly followed. They went back to the lair.

Sensei: -and so your inability to work together allowed them all to get away!
Raph: well, maybe if I didn't have to waste time arguing with hero boy, I could've saved them.
Leo: hey if you hadn't gotten in my way, I could have done it. And you went flying off on your own. How smart was that?
Donnie: Well, it would have worked out great if somebody hadn't hit me in the head with their nunchucks!
Mikey: well, none of this would have happened if...somebody hadn't trusted is to go up their in the first place. Oh geez! Sensei I didn't mean to-
Sensei: no, Michelangelo. You are right.
Mikey: I am?
Leo+Raph+Donnie:He is?
Sensei: you were not fully prepared for what was up there. I trained you to fight as individuals, not as a team. And as your teacher, your father, the responsibility for that is mine. Perhaps in another year we can try again.
Donnie: another year!? Ha! Has everybody forgotten that people were kidnapped? They don't have a year! Sensei we have to do something, now! You weren't there, Sensei. You didn't see the way that girl looked into my eyes. She was scared. And she was counting on me-us- to save her!

Sensei looked at a picture of his old family. The terrible scene was played in his mind. Of their deaths.

Sensei: yes, you must save her.
Leo: I agree Sensei. But in that fight, we weren't exactly a well-oiled machine.
Mikey: like that robot with the brain thingy.
Raph: give it a rest
Sensei: hmm. If you are to fight more effectively as a unit, you are going to need a leader.
Leo: can I be the leader?
Raph: why should you be the leader? I kicked you butt. I should be the leader.
Donnie: hey, in smarter than all you guys put together. It should be me.
Mikey: no way! It should be me!

Everyone stared at Mikey

Mikey: I don't really have a reason. I just think it would be neat!
Sensei: this is a difficult decision. I will meditate on it.

He closed the door. One second later he opened it again.

Sensei: it's Leonardo.

He closed the door again.

Leo: no hard feelings Raph?

Raph angrily walked away.

Raph: stick it in you shell.

~on the surface~

Mikey: explain to me one more time what we're doing here.
Leo+Raph+ Donnie:*groan*
Leo: Mikey we've been over this. That building has the same logo as the van that was used to kidnap the family. So if we wait here long enough, one of the kidnappers will eventually show his face. And when he does, will make him tell us where they took them.
Mikey: and then we've got ourselves a van!
Leo face palmed
Leo: just hit the guy I tell you to.
Mikey:Will do
Raph:are you sure this is going to work?
Leo: trust me. They'll be here any second.
~ A few hours later~
Mikey: OK I'm thinking of something green. Green. Green.
Donnie: is it Raphael again?
Mikey: Man, you're good at this!

Leo was still looking for the man.

Raph: give it up already. The guys not going to show.
Leo: we have to be patient.
Raph: no, you have to come up with a better plan, because the four of us standing here with a thumbs up or noses...
Mikey: I don't think they'd fit
Raph: is pointless
Leo: you sure about that, Raph?
Raph: he just showed up, didn't he?

A white van pulled up in the alley wait right next to the building that they were watching.

Raph: I should've complained two hours ago.
Leo: gentleman I have a bold and daring plan. There's no time for hesitation. My orders must be carried out without question. Guys? Guys, wait up!

The turtles surrounded one of the kidnappers.

Raph: all right, buddy. We could do this the easy way, or, my vote,the hard way.
Donnie: yeah, look at it logically. There are four of us and one of you. What are you going to do?

The man then took out a blaster and started shooting at the turtles.

Donnie: yow!
Raph: woah! You had to ask!

The man started diving away and the turtles gave chase

Donnie: he's getting away again!
Leo: no, he's not.

The turtles started tho chase him by the roof tops which made them faster. Raph threw him self onto the van. The man swerved causing Raph to be thrown off the van and crashing into a wall luckily his shell was there and the only thing that was cracked was the wall of the building. Leo Donnie and Mikey still gave chase of the van. They jump from building to building making sure that they had the van in their sights.The man saw them in the mirror and started to blast them. Leo use this ninja star and pop at the wheel on the van causing the man to swerve uncontrollably and flipped the van over.

Leo: now we're getting somewhere.

Leo made weird hand signals with his hand. Raph started mimicking his hand signals and said I don't know what that means.

Leo: go around back.
Mikey:why didn't he just say so?

The turtles that are walking towards the back of the van. the van doors were popped open and boxes were spilling out all over the road.then a canister of mutagen pulled out from the van and landed at Mikey's feet.

Mikey:Mom?
