Baxter's Gambit(Part 1)
It was nighttime in the city, as usual. Somewhere in the city, the kraang have broken into a lab and stolen something very valuable, and very dangerous. A kraang bot walked out the lab as a few others guarded the area with their kraang blasters ready. On the roof of a building not that far away, the turtles watched, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Usually, Vixen would be there, but right now, she was having one on one lessons with master Splinter. "Whoa!" Donnie exclaimed as he watched the scene with his homemade telescope. "That's a sub-spatial endoparticle disrupter." He awed to his brothers. "Gonna have to explain if that's 'Oh no' or 'yay'." Leo deadpanned, not understanding the science lingo his brother was using. "In the hands of the kraang, it's a definite 'Oh no." Donnie clarified. "Why? What does it do?" Mikey asked. "The disrupter can de-synchronize subatomic resonances, which invert polymolecular structures, causing them to implode." Donnie explained. Mikey gave a blank stare which soon converted to confusion. "It makes things go 'boom'. Raph whispered, dumbing it down for his brother. "Technically, it makes things go 'zwee-Chooooo!'" The Donnie finished his display with a popping noise. His brothers looked at him in silence and then simply blinked. "It's important to be accurate." Donnie smiled.
What the brothers didn't keno was that on another building, Stockman, Dogpound, and Fishface, with his new and improved robo-legs, were planning on getting the same weapon, waiting for the perfect time to strike. But, I don't write about the villains perspectives, so we're just gonna skip that part. "Okay guys, get in position." Leo ordered, as the turtles waited for the signal. "Ready...." Leo started. "Let's just do this!" Raph butted in, itching to fight some kraang butt. The turtles jumped off the building, doing multiple flips and landed on the ground, ready to fight. But, immediately after, Fishface, Dogpound and a few footbots did the same. The three groups looked at each other, the kraang in the middle, trying to figure out who they should take out first. "Kraang and Fishface AND Dogpound? I must be dreaming. Pinch me." Raph cheered, excitedly. Mikey gladly granted Raph's wish, and pinched him on the cheek, in which Raph bonked him on the head. "Ow, you said." Mikey retorted, confused. The foot solders and the turtles advanced, reaching the kraang in the middle. The kraang started blasting both enemies, but were easily plowed through. I guess both teams knew who was being taken down first.
Leo took out a foot bot with a high kick, another with an upside down spin kick, and a third with some ninja stars. He jogged over to the kraang van that held the disrupter, while a kraang bot closed in on him with the kraang chainsaw. Dogpound, who was also trying to get the ray, punched the kraang away, accidentally saving Leo. Dogpound punched Leo away, but he rebounded by landing on the wall and pushing off, returning to the dog mutant with a hard spin kick. On the other side of the street, Donnie was smacking the kraang silly. He tripped on with a side swept kick and dodged the pink plasma blasts from another. Donnie kicked the bot in the face and ran off to find someone else to defeat. Mikey, was also smacking a recently distracted kraang silly with his nunchucks. He took out the kraang and barley dodged the blade from a kraang bot. While making a high pitched fighting call, he high kicked the foot in the face and immediate took out another that tried to attack from the side. 2 kraang and 2 foot tried cornering the youngest turtles, who escaped by doing a double spin kick and launching them all away. Not bad, Mikey. Not bad.
Raph was focused on Fishface, his target was already acquired. Every other kraang or foot trying to take him out was either ignored or eliminated quickly. Fish face tried to kick Raph, who slid between his robotic feet. Then Raph launched himself back to the street when Fishface tried to step on him. Raph claimed up onto a railing and hoped to the top of a building where he threw his body into Fishface, making the robo-carp fall back. Just as Mikey took down another foot bot, a kraang raced over to the disperser and picked it up, Mikey noticing. The kraang aimed it at Mikey and reddish- orange light started gathering, white sparks floating around it. The beam was launched, and Mikey screamed as the people behind him, ran away for cover, while Mikey was stunned. Luckily, Raph pushed his brother out of the way, and the ray hit a car instead. The car glowed with bright, while light, while making a 'zwee' noise. Then, it started shrinking, transitioning into a 'Chooooo' sound. Finally the car turned into a small ball and made a simple pop sound as it vanished. "Woah. Donnie, you totally called it, bro." Mikey praised as the smart turtle nodded.
The kraang saw that there was no way to make it out if they stayed any longer. So they packed their stuff and said, 'Igh't Imma head out'. The van started zipping away, as Mikey and Dogpound continued to fight. Leo could hear the police sirens getting closer. "Guys, we gotta move." He warned. He looked over to Raph who was still fighting off brand Magikarp. "Raph, now." Leo ordered. Raph pushed Fishface away and joined his brothers. "Yes, run along now, boy." Fishface taunted as she started running away. "This isn't over, Fishface." Raph called back as he followed his brothers home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The lair was quite, for no one was there except Vixen and Master Splinter. April would be there later for her one on ne training, but right now, it was just Vixen and Master Splinter. Vixen told master Splinter that she had some training in Ninjutsu from her godfather, so she was well ahead of April. Vixen stood in the middle of the training room with a blind fold wrapped around her head. She breathed in gently, trying to collect herself for the exercise. "A kunoichi must be able to not rely on sight on her own. She must learn to use her other sense guide her, for there might be a time when you're vision fails you." Master Splinter said as he circled around the girl. 'One punch. I just have to dodge one punch.' She said to herself as she tried to a tune her other senses. Suddenly, she could smell the fresh air that flowed from the grate over the dojo. She could taste the eggs she had for breakfast. She could fell the clothes against her skin, and hear her own heart beating. But, more importantly, she could hear Sensei tail dragging across the carpet, feel the vibrations of each step and smell Japanese incents. Oh, and she could taste victory. She smirked to herself.
Then, she hear the dragging on the carpet get closer at an alarming rate. The vibrations got stronger as Master Splinter got closer and the smell of cheery blossoms got stronger. But, she could also hear a few little spies from the doorway, hushing each other. 'Enjoy the show, boys'. Right before Sensei's fist could collide with her cheek, Vixen reached up and pushed his hand away while moving her head to the side, her feet swiveled and she spun away, and took two big hops back, effectively getting out of range of another hit. Her ears picked up something ripping through the wind and she quickly backed up, feeling wind on her face. 'Did he just try to hit me with his tail?' She thought. "Ya-me." Master Splinter's voice rang. She pushed the blindfold down to her neck. "You are improving quickly, Vixen." Master Splinter smiled as he rested his hand on her shoulder. "I try." She smiled while shrugging. "There is something I must give you. After seeing your fighting style, and learning you're personality, I believe these are perfect for you." Master Splinter said as he walked over to his room and came back out with a box.
Vixen cocked an eyebrow and opened the box, her eyes widened and shimmered at what was there. "OH MY GOSH!" She shouted as she pulled out two, twin eclipse scythes. They had a pretty big blade for the small handle, which confused Vixen at first, but that she realized that she could combine the two and make a double sided scythe. "Thank you so much, Sensei!" The girl bowed to her master. "You are welcome. You may go now" He smiled. The turtles ducked out the way, as Vixen walked to the door. When she opened it, they were doing their own thing, as if they weren't just watching her. She chuckled and rolled her eyes, letting it slide fir now. "Guys! Guess who got her weapon!" She cheered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The turtles were now in the dojo for their training, while Vixen practiced with her scythes. The turtles were lined up, on sitting on their knees as they waited for they're turn. Master Slinter had a wooden sword and was training the boys to sense when he was going to try and hit them, and move out the way in time. Donnie was supposed to go first. Master Splinter walked behind him, holding the wooden sword, swinging it upwards. Right as Donnie was about to move out the way, the wooden sword went down, colliding with his head Donnie cried out in pain and rubbed his head. "Aw, man." He pouted as he sat back, upset he didn't make is in time. Master Splinter moved onto Mikey, who was grinning at first, but then became scared. Splinter held the wooden sword up, and Mikey flinched, about to move. When he realized that Sensei wasn't swinging he relaxed. Then he flinched, hen relaxed, then flinched while looking back and relaxed. "Just so we're clear, sensei, you are planning on swinging, ri-OW!" Mikey screamed as he got bonked on the head. He rubbed his head to sooth the pain as Master Splinter moved onto Raph.
Raph only had the chance to blink before he was whacked on the head really hard. "OW!" He shouted, and rubbed the top of his head. Finally, Splinter moved onto Leo. Master Splinter placed the sword right above his head before raising it back up. Right before Splinter swung, Leo's eyes widened, knowing he was about to swing. The sword went down, and everything seemed to go in slow motion. Leo side stepped the attack and did a back to get out of reach. "Yes!" He celebrated. "What is the point of this, anyway?" Raph asked, still rubbing his head. "Evading a sword you cannot see demonstrates an ability to sense your enemy's intention." Master Splinter explained, wisely. "I already know my enemy's intention, sensei. To take me down." Raph responded. "Knowing that your enemy will strike is a given. But sensing when he will strike can mean the difference between victory and defeat." Sensei added. "Hai, Sensei." Raph replied. The 4 turtles bowed as their master, and father left to go meditate. "So, you guys never told me how the mission went. But, seeing that you don't have any expensive looking weapons, I'm gonna say it didn't go that well." Vixen spoke as she put the two scythes in the holster that she had received.
"Vixen, you are never gonna believe this. Dogpound, Fishface and a bunch of foot bots were there too! We got to fight off 2 groups of baddies at the same time!" Mikey cheered as he started kicking and punching the air. "So who got the weapon? The kraang or the foot? 'Cause it defiantly wasn't us." Vixen shrugged. "The kraang got it. We're gonna have to sneak into TCRI and get it back." Leo piped. "Who said it was is TCRI? It could be in the same place where the drill was. Donnie can you go and search for it or something?" Vixen said while turning to the slightly shorter turtle. "Will do." Donnie smiled as he headed towards the lab.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The turtles decided to go out for another patrol to see if they could find the kraang on the streets. Vixen tagged along because she wanted to try out her scythes. They flipped over the rooftops until Donne spotted something. "I got eyes on one giant dog and fish. 6:00." Donnie exclaimed. "Where?" Mikey asked excitedly, before visibly shrinking in discouragement. "Aw, man. It's just Fishface and dogpound." He pouted as the two other turtles looked at the two villains that were hiding out in the alleyway. "What are they doing out in the open like this?" Leo asked. "Maybe they're meeting someone?" Vixen shrugged. "I think we should proceed with caution, guys." Leo suggested. When the blue clad turtle was met with silence he looked to see that his brothers were gone. The only one who stood there was Vixen, who was also confused by the lack of mutated turtles. They heard fighting from the alley and Leo let out an exasperated, "Aw, man." "Hey, you can't win them all. Come on. We got bad guy butt to kick." Vixen said gently as she punched Leo's shoulder and jumped down, followed by the oldest turtle.
Donnie tried to whack Dog pound, but was pushed back. Then, Mikey used his nunchucks, but Dogpound shielded his face with his huge, clawed arm. He tried swiping Mikey away, but the smaller turtle simply jumped out the way. Leo joined in with the battle against the dog, while Raph advanced towards Fishface. "Where were we? Oh, yeah. I was turning you into fish sticks." Raph mocked as he spun his sais. "Actually, I believe I was turning you into turtle soup." Fish Face hissed back. "I don't think so~" Vixen's voice rang as she kicked Fishface in the back of his head, taking him by surprise. The fish mutant stumbled a bit, but caught himself, turning to the girl. Vixen walked forward, spinning her double bladed scythe around in one hand, then slung it over her shoulder with a cocky smirk. "Oh, is that how you wanna play, niña?" He cackled. "Wouldn't have it any other way. Come on, Raph. We got a big fish to fry." She humored as she pulled the two sides of the scythe apart and readied herself. Fishface tried to kick Raph, but Raph avoided the blow and kicked him into Vixen who used the blunt end of her weapon to hit him. Right after he went down, Dogpound was defeated.
Leo stood over him and pointed his katanas at him. "Stay....Good dog." Leo mocked. "Aw, is the fight already over?" Vixen whined, upset she couldn't use her weapons that much. Right then, Dog pound knocked the metal sword from his face and the two henchmen started retreating. "Look. We got 'em on the run." Mikey smiled. "Oh, they aren't getting off that easy." Raph said as he gave chase. "Raph, wait. Something's not right." Leo warned. "Yeah, you talking while they're getting away." Raph snapped as he continued to run. The other ran to catch up to the red clad turtle. "Raph, don't get me wrong. I love a good bad guy brawl every now and then. But, this seems a little sus, don't you think?" Vixen panted as she caught up with the hotheaded turtle. Raph ignored her and ran faster. Vixen sighed aloud and continued after the villains to who knows where. Eventually, they made it to an abandoned warehouse, in which they saw Fishface and Dogpound run into. "Guys, I don't know about this. Dark warehouses with small lights hanging from the ceiling is something that I don't do." Vixen said as she backed away.
"Seriously? You're scared of the dark?" Raph scoffed. "No. That's dumb. I'm scared of what could be hiding in the dark. I have recently learned that there are mutants living in this city, and like 75% of them are evil. And what I've learned from horror movies is that the black person always dies first. Creepy and African America don't mix." Vixen ranted. "Don't worry Vixen. Any villain that tries to hurt you will have to go through me first." Mikey reassured. "Awww, Mikey. That's sweet." Vixen cooed. "First, you flirt with Leo, and now Mikey? Who's next? April?" Raph smirked. "Please don't." Donnie piped in. "Guys, their probably getting away right now." Leo suddenly said. The 5 went in, Vixen reluctantly. "This way." Raph shouted as they ran into an open space. The 5 started looking around for the villain, when Dogpound said, "Alright." The two moved from their hiding spots from behind two big columns. "You got us." Dogpound added as the two walked forward. "This is way too easy." Leo pointed out. "Why are you always worrying?!" Raph fumed. Suddenly, a whirring sound placed and a red line made a circle around the turtles, Vixen, Dogpound and Fishface. "Oh, I see." Raph said as black and white walls grew from the floor. "What did I say about dark warehouses and black people!?" Vixen screeched.
"Careful guys. This may be a trap." Mikey warned, his voice echoing a bit. "Welcome, contestants. I'm so glad you could join us tonight." A voice over an intercom announced. "Blister stockboy?" Leo exclaimed. "It's Baxter Stockman!" He screamed angrily. "I'm your archnemesis." He added. "I can totally think of five nemesises way archer than him." Mikey said to Donnie. "You'll be playing for the ultimate prize: Your lives! In the all new, family-friendly, incredibly deadly, Maze of Doom!" Blaxter cried. The turtles sigh aloud, tired of this already. "It's Jigsaw all over again." Vixen groaned. Suddenly, a bunch of missiles rocketed from the air and started landing where the 5 heroes stood. The turtles and Vixen started running around, trying to avoid the fiery balls of destruction. Shredder's goons smirked until they realized that some of the missiles were headed towards them. The two jumped out the way, and Fishface looked up to the top of the structure. "You fool. What are you doing?" He fumed.
"I'm sick of you freaks. You treat me like dirt, threaten me. Well, Baxter Stockman doesn't make threats." Daxter seethed. "Have you gone mad?" Fishface yelled back. "Mad?" Faxter repeated as he did an evil laugh. "I'm full on mega crazy!" He smirked. "You traitor!" Dogpound screamed as he waved his huge fist. "And even of you make if though my maze alive, you'll still have to face my monster of-" "Doom? Is it a monster of doom?" Leo deadpanned. "No! Uh, monster of, uh-Uh...Oh, the heck with it!" Haxter said as he pressed a big red button. The floor beneath the 7 opened, and they all fell downwards, screaming their lungs out. After a long fall, the turtles and Vixen landed on a curved, checkered floor. Because the turtle had shells, they were fine. Vixen was fine too, but that was only because she landed atop of Donnie. "Thanks for breaking my fall, D." Vixen smiled as she got up and dusted her jacket off. "No problem." He strained. "Where in the-" Raph was interrupted by Dogpound's screams at the two villain fell onto the floor as well.
"Where were we?" Dogpound said as he pounced. "Total turtle takedown." Fishface replied as he also ran toward the 5. Dogpound tried to punch Raph, who side stepped the blow. Leo tried to interfere, but, Dogpound grabbed him and threw him. Donnie smacked Dogpound on the back of his head. Fishface tried to bite Raph, who dodged the attack and did a spin kick to the face. Leo finally landed on the ground, right next to Vixen who was watching the fight. Vixen helped him up, but then they both heard a sound. They looked to the left and saw big red lasers that formed in the shape of swinging axes. "What is..." Leo dragged on as he looked to the right and saw the same thing. "Uh-oh. This can't be good." Leo mumbled. "I swear, if I die before these weapons break, all hell is breaking loose." Vixen grumbled as she started spinning her scythes. Raph also noticed the lasers and saw one heading toward him, right at the same time Fishface was going to attack. Raph pushed both him and the fish mutant away while yelling, "Watch out!" just before the ax hit them.
They both sat up to look at the laser that swung right by their feet. "I saved you why, calamari boy?" Raph asked the fish, confused. "Everyone, I suggest a fight rain check." Leo said. "Never. We do this now!" Dogpound insister as she tried to pummel Donnie and Mikey, who jumped out the way. The, Laser headed right towards him, sure to cut him in half. Leo threw a dagger at the machine casting the laser and it tilted a little to the side. Completely missing Dogpound who was cowering in fear of death. Well, it also missed him. A chunk of that bone armor he has on his shoulder clipped off, showing that it Leo was any slower, the wound could have been way worse. "If we keep fighting, we are never going to get out of here alive." Leo clarified. "I second that!" Vixen piped. "The exit! There!" Donnie pointed out as he saw at the end of a tunnel a bright light. "Out of the way!" Vixen yelled as she started running towards freedom. "No! Follow me!" Dogpound said as he pushed the others out of the way. Fishface followed the furry mutant and the turtles soon gave chase.
They were all dodging, weaving, swerving and flipping, over under and past the lasers, hoping not to be chopped up. "Leo, you don't think we can trust them, do you?" Raph asked as the two older brother stopped for a breath. Leo and Raph leaned back in order to stop a laser ax from severing their faces off. The two kept running. It's our only option." Leo answered they flipped past another ax. "Well, what do we do when they turn on us? Because they will turn on us." Raph asked, angered. "We'll just have to trust that we'll see it coming first." Responded as he ran past a laser ax. Raph slowly shook his head in disbelief before continuing.
