In the TMNT the characters are a major part of the story like many others. We all know there's

- Raphael the hot head
- Leonardo the leader
- Donatello the smart one
- and Michelangelo the party animal.

The turtles are most important to the story there is not Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles without them.

- Along with their father/sensei Hamato Yoshi or Lou Jitsou or Splinter.
(Yes he has lots of names)

And along with some of their other friends!

- April O'Neil! Either she's spunky and a total girlboss or #Honararyturtlesister, to even a total bitch and heartbreaker or a news reporter.

- Cassandra jones a foot recruit who's a total chaotic girlboss who deserves more screen time

- Casey Jones (Jr) either he's really buff, Emo and weird, or a total PTSD sweetheart who needs a hug :( and the son of Cassandra Jones he's still THE Casey jones we love.

- Sunita she's either a fun exploding green slime yokai or a girlfriend for April who just wants a normal day!

- Señor Hueso a skeleton yokai man who runs a pizzeria and slaps Leo's face for doing something he doesn't want him doing or to mess with him he's iconic and we all love him as a wingman.

And we've even got cross over friends such as...

- Yuichi/miyamoto Usagi both rabbits, both samurais Yuchi is more cocky and impulsive, Miyamoto is more serious and calm

- Chizu a ninja clan kitty cat who has trust issues and a serious personality

- Kitsune a spunky and cutesy fox girl who loves cute things and food such as Yakotri

- Gen a rhino with prosthetic horn who's a total sweetheart like Raph in 2018 despite looking intimidating

- or the krang who are either really annoying or extremely dangerous that they can desiccate planets

- Doctor of professor Cynthia who tried to milk the turtle brothers

They are the essential needs to help the turtles have a goal or some sort of motivation.
