Chapter 3: The Rescue

An hour went by when the brothers were making their way back to the lair until Leo noticed something on the ground.

"Leo?" Donnie asked as he saw Leo picking up something.

"What is it? What did you find?" Raphael asked.

Leo grab it and showed it to his brothers, "It's Mikey's T-phone."

The brothers were concerned until Raphael said " He probably dropped it when he was crying his way back to the lair."

Leo wasn't sure at first until the three heard a distant scream that made the brothers' eyes widen. "That's Mikey Scream! He must be in danger!"Donnie said, Raphael began to start dashing through the tunnels to find Mikey and save him while his brothers were right behind him.

"Hold on Mikey, we're coming." Raphael thought.

As the brothers were running and turning the tunnels from left and right, to save their little baby brother from danger...

Ugh...

Why do I feel so cold?

How come I can't breathe?

Why is everything so dark, where am I?

Mikey eyeshot opened and was swimming to the surface, he tries his best not to drown until he found a long wooden board to help him float through the current rapid water before he could grab his weapon to wrap a pipe around he noticed he was near a big drop down where this water leads.

Mikey was thinking fast about how to get out when started to stand on the wooden board to look for something useful, all of a sudden a sharp metal stick came rushing down from the water and cut Mikey's left shoulder.

Mikey screamed in pain and he held his shoulder very tight. He almost fell from the board until he kept his balance, although he started to feel weak in his body, making him fall into the water before he grabbed the board.

"Ugh.. why is my body starting to feel tired..? I felt like my energy is being taken away..." Mikey was indeed struggling to stay awake as if his lungs were starting to get tight, making it hard for Michelangelo to breathe.

Until he noticed he was almost near the waterfall and was trying to look around to see if something he can do to escape before its too late.

The brothers manage to reach the end of the tunnel and see rapid water left and right, seeing waterfalls everywhere, and a stream full of junk.

"Where could he be?!", Donnie looked around. Leo and Raphael were looking high and low to see where could have Mikey gone.

Leo was concerned that Mikey was lost or injured from a battle and that they weren't able to help him. As for Raphael, he was worried that someone kidnapped him and was a hostage.

Donnie paused momentarily in fear and said "Guys, you don't think Mikey is-."

Leo froze in horror for a moment until Raphael said in anger "NO! He is not!" began to run down the path to follow where does the water led.

Donnie and Leo went after Raphael at full speed. They notice the stream was leading to another waterfall as they were about to stop, they notice something was on along the wooden board.

"GUYS! IT'S MIKEY !" Donnie screams out. Now the brothers were really going full speed to reach Mikey before he falls into the waterfall. Raphael jump into the water to swim towards Mikey and when he finally reaches for him he noticed Mikey was looking cold, even his shoulder had a cut. Raphael was placing Mikey on his back to rest for a while.

"Raph! you are gonna -" Leo screamed out.

When Raphael turned he noticed he was nearly at the edge of the waterfall and started to swim very fast.

"WHAT DO WE DO!!??" Donnie was freaking out.

Leo noticed that Mikey's weapon was on his waist as he had an idea then screamed at Raphael, "RAPH! USE MIKEY NUNCHUCKS!!!"

Raphael suddenly stop swimming for a moment to grab Mikey's nunchucks to extend their length and threw them at Leo. Raphael felt Mikey being loose on his back and tried to reach his hand but the water was so fast that Mikey was floating away.

Mikey body was at the edge of the waterfall and was close to falling until Raphael grabbed his hand tightly as Leo and Donnie were pulling them back to the stream moving far, far away from the edge of the waterfall.

Once they made it to a near land, Raph carried Mikey above the water and lay him down on the concrete ground.

Donnie was checking Mikey's pulse and his plastron to hear a heartbeat. He sigh softly and said, "He's okay but he starting to lose air a bit, we need to get him back to the lair and help him recover." And noticed Mikey left shoulder, " I'm gonna need to stitch Mikey cut to prevent it from spreading more."

"Let's get back to the lair." Raphael said as he carried Mikey in bridal style.

Leo was going up to Raphael as he was holding Mikey, stroking his head softly to see his baby brother was going to be alright.

"We need to have a talk to him about what happened." Leo stated firmly.

Donnie and Raphael nodded, as they began to run straight in the tunnels heading back to the lair.

The figure was seeing the three mutants leaving with Michelangelo in their hands and began to grin.

"Oh, how interesting" it began to laugh wickedly.

"The brutal brothers came to save their poor Michelangelo," The figure said in a mocked tone. And then scoffed, "How pathetic."

As he started to disappear butterflies fluttered away once more...
