Chapter 10: A Memories Trip

Midnight was entering Mikey's head as he landed on the ground to see the memories from Mikey's past and present. These memories are in small orbs where once it glows, it shows a memory like a movie. Midnight was seeing a memory where the turtles were fighting against Shredder for the first time, where they went to the surface, meeting two humans and other mutants.

As he started to walk down the hallway from these orbs. In the distance he sees Mikey dreaming about his family and friends hanging out together at a movie theater, watching the film "Space Heroes". It was indeed confused for a moment although he sees Mikey smiling happily, eating some popcorn, and chatting with his brothers; which causes hatred on his face.

Midnight enters Mikey's dream as he uses his power to change the location from the theater to a pit of darkness. Mikey was indeed afraid as he sees his family disappearing, "Guys!" He was trying to reach them but he was too late. There was no light, no colors, nobody with Michelangelo. He was all alone.

Suddenly these voices were echoing through Michelangelo as he started to collapse on the ground, shutting his eyes tightly. Those words he hears, he recognizes this sensation and it wasn't for long until it began to echo louder and louder...!

Worthless!

A Mistake!

A Useless Screwup!

A Nuisance!

Weak!

A Joke!

A Nobody!

Mikey suddenly opened his eyes to see his father looking very disappointed as his arms are crossed and his brothers with hatred on their faces.

"This is all your fault, Mikey!" Donnie shouted at Mikey's face.

"Why can't you do anything right!" Leo screamed out in rage as he pointed straight to Michelangelo.

"You are just holding us back! Maybe it's best if you get left behind!" Raph said as he gripped his fists.

Midnight was feeling Mikey's sadness and misery as he started to consume the darkness from him with his powers. However, while that was going on Mikey's mask began to glow orange which senses him to turn around and see Midnight in a distance, using his powers.

Mikey knew Midnight was collecting his darkness as part of his curse, he suddenly started to think happy thoughts deep in his heart. Something shiny appeared in Mikey's mask as an orange butterfly appeared and fluttered around him until it vanished like dust. The darkness Mikey felt was starting to disappear. He was the only one standing and seeing nothing but Midnight powers escaping from his body.

Mikey indeed looked straight at Midnight in anger and was readying to fight until he saw Midnight's facial expression of bewilderment.

"How did you do that?" Midnight started to float down on the ground as Mikey began to back away a bit.

"I had right where you are and... you deflect it." Midnight's power started to glow purple as he was gonna attack.

Mikey didn't know what he could do, everything was going slow. So many things were getting out offhand; he felt pain, scared, worried, and shocked.

Midnight was walking towards Mikey as he asked again, "Your darkness was right in my power, and... it just disappear like it never happened."

Mikey didn't know either, but one thing for sure he was going to find answers to this strange feeling in his heart.

In a distance, something caught Mikey's eyes as a shining blue butterfly fluttered behind Midnight, it was flicking from purple to then blue again. It was going through the darkness as it was leaving.

Mikey's eyes widen as he thought it must be the same butterfly he had seen before when he heard these strange voices.

Mikey began to run in the direction where Midnight is as he began to use his power to form a sword only to see Mikey pass by him as he stand there in dumbfound.

The flicking butterfly was starting to disappear as Mikey leaped over it and managed to catch it as he suddenly began to glow orange from his mask.

Midnight turned in anger as he shouted "WHY THE HELL DID YOU-" then sees Mikey glowing bright orange and cupping a purple or blue butterfly in his hands.

He began to freak out as he ran towards Mikey, "WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T-"

But it was too late, as soon he could reach Michelangelo he began to disappear as little orange butterflies took him away.

Midnight sees the little orange butterflies leaving Michelangelo's dream as he begins to fly and follow these insects where it was heading.

He began to think it was gonna take Mikey somewhere from his memories although it was just a theory he had suggested, he hoped it would never be true. He looked ahead to see the orange butterflies flying high and quickly to another orb. Only this time it was blue.

"If I beat him before he gets there, then he'll never know." Midnight said as he turned to his demon form to boost up his speed, he suddenly felt a little worried as his facial expression of anger faded away, "Right?"

Meanwhile, Mikey appeared in a strange laboratory as the butterfly he caught was turning blue to then flutter straight to a door and land on the doorknob. Although Mikey couldn't help and look at how enormous this place was.

In the ceiling, some diamonds look like a star shining bright in the sky above. Near was a desk filled with sketches and pictures of fields and some kind of town. On the other side of the room, he sees some chemicals that look somewhat like potions, there were in different shapes from round to sharp, on the other side of the desk were some weird plants and little creatures in small jars. It amazes Michelangelo as he sees so many books all around the lab from top to bottom.

Regardless, he was getting off track as he sees the butterfly that was still on the doorknob, glowing brightly as a star for Mikey to walk towards the door and opened it slowly.

As Mikey peeked through the door and noticed something about this room. It looked like a mini-lab, very bright and natural. He sees a person in armor with a silver-blue sword on his waist, holding piles of books in his hands, looking a little stressed yet formal.

"He looks like a knight." Mikey thought.

And across the room was another person sitting near a desk, wearing a lab coat with a fancy outfit but looking royal.

"There is something about that dude with the lab coat that looks...familiar," Mikey thought with inquisitiveness.

"This is ridiculous!" The lab coat person got up from his desk and threw the book that was on the side of the desk with frustration. He started to look out the window where a view of the village and the clear blue sky above.

The knight was holding the books placed them down and began to walk toward the lab coat as he place a hand on the lab coat's shoulder.

"Don't give stress out too much, you'll find the answer no matt,r what," Knight said as he should pride and his cocky pose.

"It's not like that, I have three days to figure out how to stop the war from coming to this kingdom, and the royal highness myself is
relying on me to end it!" The lab coat person said in fear and frustration.

"I know, I know..." The knight sighed as he went to pick up the book from the floor and place it back on the desk. "You just need to have faith that everything will be alright and remember that no matter how bad things will get," the knight took off his helmet as he revealed his face, he had crystal green eyes and silky golden hair "I will always be by your side."

The lab coat turned as he smiled softly "Thanks Zen. I needed that from a friend."

Mikey couldn't help but feel the warmth from this knight's words as he helped his friend in need, he smile a little.

"Of course, you are the greatest sorcerer of Riverdale Kingdom. Which is a great title by the way." the Labcoat person laughs a little and returns to the desk to get back to work.

Mikey stepped back and tripped on some book as he faces planted the ground. Not long after he got to realize something was odd about the room as the blue butterfly landed on Mikey's head. He freaked out as he was gonna be exposed but he noticed Zen and the Labcoat person weren't noticing he was there.

"Wait, if they can't see me then... Does that mean I'm dead or?" Mikey thought as he noticed the blue butterfly was fluttering around to then land on his right arm.

"At least I'm not exposed." Mikey thought as he sighed in relief.

Zen suddenly flipped out when he heard the bell ringing outside of the castle.

"Oh crap! I'm gonna be late! The general is not going to be happy that I'm not there!" Zen was putting his helmet back and was about to exit the door until he forgot to mention, " Oh yeah I almost forgot!"

Zen turned and the lab coat person made eye contact, " later today we'll have a meeting with the general and the king just wanted to let you know because your present is required."

"Oh! Of course, thanks for the heads up!" As he smiled and then began reading his spellbook.

Mikey noticed the blue butterfly was leaving as he began to follow but before he could take another step he heard said:

"No problem, Midnight."

In a frozen matter as Mikey turned to the Midnight smiling as he gave a thumbs up and then returned to reading.

It shocked Mikey as the blue butterfly landed on his shoulder to then disappeared from the room.

A realization came as Mikey understood what was been going on...

"These aren't just any memories..."

"These are Midnight memories..."
