Katie and our children are there waiting. I quickly hug her and we all strap in for the journey home. We shift in our seats, nervous, scared, uncomfortable. Zach finds a tablet that tracks the shuttle and where it's going, including all of it's destinations. He shakes his head. The shuttle stops a few times, and each time afterward Zach checks the screen and shakes his head again.

"Give me that," Katie tells Zach, holding out her hand. He passes her the tablet. She looks at it and I lean over to examine it as well. She clicks on an arrow next to the name of the next planet we are headed to. She keeps clicking until we make full circle.

"Shit," I say.

"What?" Maegan wonders. I stare and her for a while, not sure if I should tell her. I take a long, deep breath.

"This shuttle isn't going back to Earth."
