Chapter 15 - The Collapse

Monarch's helicopter had flown over the inlet as quickly as possible, the two pilots having to use all their mastery to be able to steer the flying machine in the middle of this storm. Now he was flying over downtown San Fransokyo, plunged into chaos. From inside the cabin, through the windows, Henri Serizawa, Jennifer Lewis, Jenny Foxworth and her butler, could all watch with a mixture of fascination and terror the fight unfolding beneath them. Godzilla and Biollante faced each other in the middle of the devastated neighborhood and at the foot of the badly damaged Apex Tower. Serizawa could not restrain this flash of fascination in his eyes, he who finally saw this famous king of the monsters that his ancestor Ishiro had spoken so much about in his books.

Meanwhile, on the ground, in one of the devastated streets, filled with wreckage of cars, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, Go Go and Fred had succeeded in removing as many civilians as possible and putting them in safety far from the site of the confrontation. However, the young heroes had to take refuge behind a piece of building, while only twenty yards from them, Godzilla and Biollante continued their fight, causing the area to tremble with every movement.

_ "It's the apocalypse! We're all going to die!" Wasabi panicked in his costume.

_ "Wasabi, stop screaming like that or I'm going to have a nervous breakdown." Go Go told him.

Fred, on the other hand, had risked taking a peek out of the temporary shelter, observing the two giant creatures, even scarier than any monster he'd seen in any comic book, movie and movie. video games he had.

_ "I knew it ... I knew they existed ... I kept saying it, but no one believed me ..." said Fred, seeing all his theories on the existence of monsters come true under his eyes.

_ "Fred, damn it, come back and take cover!" Honey Lemon told him, coming to grab him and pull him forcefully behind into the hiding place.

Suddenly, the heroes saw with relief their two friends, Hiro and Baymax, arrive by air and come to rest right in front of them.

_ "Hiro!" Honey said with a smile, relieved to see him alive and walked over to him, followed by the others.

_ "Guys, listen to me! I don't have time to explain everything in detail, so I'll be blunt. We have to find and stop Walter Simmons immediately!" Hiro explained to the others.

_ "Are you serious? Can't you see what's going on? It's the end of the world!" Wasabi said, still gripped by fear.

_ "But, Hiro ... where is Elsa?" Go Go asked, not seeing her anywhere.

_ "She's fine, don't worry. She's gone on her own to take care of the monsters. Listen, this situation is completely beyond us, but as heroes, we have to do our duty ... Simmons to kidnapped Elsa, and it's what started this catastrophe. It must therefore be stopped for what it did."

_ "I detected his thermal signature." Baymax announced to the rest of the group. "He is currently on the top floor of the tower and appears to be heading for the roof."

_ "This bastard is going to try to escape in a chopper!" grunted Fred in his costume.

_ "In that case, no time to waste! Big Hero 6, let's go!" Hiro told them firmly.

Without further ado and managing to regain courage despite the cataclysmic situation, the group of heroes, all clinging to Baymax, flew to the heights of the tower to stop Simmons. As they flew up, everyone could notice Elsa's silhouette at Godzilla's feet, circling in a blizzard halo and facing Biollante.

_ "Damn ... but what is she doing ?!" Wasabi asked, stunned.

_ "She does what she has to do." Hiro replied with a smile.

*************

Standing again, hurt but enraged by the pain, Biollante roared, his tentacles swaying around him. Godzilla, also injured and still a little stunned by the effect of the poison which was gradually dissipating, roared in turn with rage.

Alongside her king, Elsa finally decided to join the fight. Squeezing her hands and closing her eyes, she concentrated as much of her magic as possible, letting it emanate from her and surround her more and more, in a veritable cyclone of frost and snow, more and more intense. Godzilla saw her do it and growled, showing a sort of smile on her jaws, guessing what she was doing. Biollante, for her part, was puzzled.

Little by little, Elsa surrounded herself with a body made of magic ice, bigger and bigger. And finally, once the blizzard has passed, Elsa's new transformation is revealed to all.

In order to fight the titan on an equal footing, the queen had locked herself in a gigantic body of ice, having the appearance of a giant ice woman, measuring just over 80 meters tall. In her hand, the giant ice entity, controlled by Elsa's mind, had created a giant ice sword to fight. In the heart of the giant creature of ice, Elsa was curled up, plunged into a state of trance.

Godzilla and Elsa then glanced at each other, making it clear without a word that henceforth they would face together. Biollante, although numerically dominated, did not let himself be intimidated and on the contrary, was the first to return to the attack, throwing several of his tentacles forward.

Elsa tried to protect herself, but the blow she received in the chest knocked her back several yards. The ice titan rolled violently, crushing a row of small buildings in its path.

Having seen Elsa get hit, Godzilla enraged and rushed at Biollante, colliding with him and biting him deeply in the throat in an attempt to strangle him. Biollante roared in pain, but promptly retaliated with several of his tentacles, the tentacles circling around Godzilla's body and neck to immobilize him and force him to let go.

Further back, Elsa rose from the blow, seeing a crack that had formed on her titan's icy skin. She managed to seal it with frost, and got to her feet, retrieving her giant icy sword that had fallen beside her.

She could see Godzilla roaring in anger and struggling like hell as he was immobilized by Biollante who was about to spit a flood of acid right into his head.

Elsa reacted and ran as fast as possible, causing the ground to shake under her running steps.

Aiming as best she could, she used her titanic strength to throw her sword like a spear. The giant ice weapon ripped through the air at high speed and hit Biollante full force in the chest. The mutant screamed in pain and saw that great blade of ice that had just pierced his flesh, spilling his foul greenish blood. He wanted to pull it out with his jaws, but Godzilla used the diversion to free himself from the tentacles to attack again, once again biting Biollante on the head and preventing him from pulling the Ice Sword from his body. Elsa immediately arrived to help her king and leaped against Biollante, to grab her sword and keep it in the flesh of the mutant.

_ "We have to hold on, Godzilla! We have to hold on!" Elsa screamed in her mind.

Elsa and Godzilla, side by side, struggled with all their might to maintain their hold on Biollante who was growing more and more enraged with the growing pain.

************

While at the foot of the great Apex tower the battle of the titans continued to rage, at the top, Walter Simmons had finally decided to evacuate. Arriving on the roof of the tower in the rain and the strong wind of the storm, the boss of Apex, escorted by several of his guards and his secretary, hastened towards his private black helicopter, to be able to escape and go to himself. put in safety.

A violent shock from the titans made the tower shake again, unsettling everyone, but Simmons was soon able to stand up and continue towards the helicopter.

_ "Call the Hong Kong-based robotics complex." Simmons ordered his secretary, screaming so he could be heard in the storm. "Notify them of my arrival."

_ "At your orders, sir." replied the secretary who began to send the message on the holographic tablet she held in her hands.

Suddenly, several shapes came in from the air and came between Simmons and his helicopter. The boss of Apex, just like his guards and his secretary, were surprised and confused to see this group of young men in armor facing them and looking at them sternly. They recognized them immediately.

_ "Do you think you are going somewhere, Simmons?" Hiro said, his accusing gaze hamming the latter.

_"You again?!" Simmons said, gritting his teeth. "Leave me alone! Can't you see that it is more serious! So, do your hero duty and go annihilate those giant monsters who are destroying everything down there!"

_ "Don't try to exonerate yourself." Honey Lemon said. "We know what you want to do with Elsa, and we won't let you."

_ "In that case ... kill them!" Simmons suddenly ordered to stand on his side with his secretary.

His six guards standing behind him, all equipped with high tech Apex armor and weapons, obeyed and began to fire in unison.

Sensing danger coming, Baymax grabbed Hiro in his arms and whirled around, like a shield. The first impacts hit Baymax's back, but his armor withstood the shots well. Fred had jumped as high as he could to avoid the shots, while Go Go started to run. Honey Lemon used one of her alchemical spheres to create a large gas bubble which solidified around her and Wasabi, protecting them from impact, although as time went on the protective bubble started to be damaged. Honey and Wasabi gasped when a small, spherical, metallic object, displaying a flashing red light, was thrown through one of the holes and rolled close to them.

_"Watch out!" Wasabi yelled, throwing himself at Honey. The grenade then exploded and propelled them both for several meters or they rolled on the ground, half-conscious from the shock wave.

_ "Honey Lemon! Wasabi!" cried Hiro. "Baymax, go help them!"

_"Understood! Take cover, Hiro!" replied the robot which immediately flew towards them and protected them from the shots that were coming at them. Baymax used his scanner to check for possible bodily injuries, but other than severe disorentation orchestrated by the shock wave and a few minor bruises to his arms and legs, they had nothing.

Another guard prepared to throw another grenade, but Go Go was quicker and took the explosive out of his hand before he had time to react.

_"Is that what you want?" Go Go said provocatively and threw the defused explosive at him.

The guard, dumbfounded, wanted to flee but was in turn ejected by the wave of the explosion of his own grenade and fell asleep by striking, head first, against one of the vents on the roof.

_ "Be scared! Fredzilla is coming!" Fred roared with all his might, and with a spectacular leap, landed on another guard and knocked him out by slamming him violently to the ground.

Meanwhile, as Baymax helped Honey Lemon and Wasabi come to their senses and shelter them behind an air vent, Hiro, who had also taken cover further away, looked around for Simmons' whereabouts in all this mess. And he saw him at last. The boss of Apex took advantage of the confusion and chaos engendered by his guards to discreetly go around and approach his helicopter which was just waiting for him to leave.

_ "Simmons!" yelled Hiro who ran in the middle of the storm towards him and leaped with all his might behind the back of the Apex boss. Surprised, the latter began to struggle to try to get rid of the young hero who was clinging to him at the level of the upper back and began to bombard him with small punches on the head to disorient him.

_ "You are not going to leave us already?!" Hiro said wryly as he continued to attack him.

_ "Leave me, you little shit!" Simmons growled fiercely in annoyance.

In the struggle, he managed to grab Hiro by the wrist and without the slightest hesitation, threw the teen in the direction of the void. Hiro, in a cry of panic, began to fall like a stone to the ground several hundred meters below.

_ "HIRO!!" all of Hiro's friends yelled in unison in horror.

Seeing his best friend fall from the tower, Baymax put all the power into the reactors of his metal boots, and spreading his wings, rushed like a rocket along the facade of the great Apex Tower, and caught Hiro in his arms. Hiro thanked his friend with a nod and climbed onto his back and the two of them headed back to the top of the tower.

But when they returned, they could see that all of Apex's guards had been knocked out by the rest of the gang who were relieved to see Hiro saved.

But unfortunately, Simmons had had time to flee in his personal helicopter, which was already moving away at high speed and gradually disappearing into the night sky and the storm.

_ "No! We can't let him go away, we have to ..." Hiro said, too eager to pursue this bastard.

But Baymax quickly called him back to the order of priorities and showed other friends by his gaze. Honey, Fred, Wasabi and Go Go ... they had fought well but suffered a few injuries and weren't really able to continue. In addition, Baymax's reactors were soon running out of power and could not withstand a long chase.

The tower was violently shaken again as the terrifying roars of Godzilla and Biollante were heard.

_ "We must leave! The tower will soon collapse!" Go Go warned.

_"Ok... let's move!" Hiro answered, but showing his big disappointment to let Simmons go away.

Everyone then clung to Baymax who used the rest of the energy that was left in his reactors to fly away and get away, with all his friends, as much as possible from danger.

From the cabin of his helicopter, Walter, accompanied by his secretary, watched his tower receding, as well as the city of San Fransokyo and the monstrous confrontation of the titans that was taking place.

_ "It's far from over ... you'll see." he growled.

****************

Meanwhile, at the foot of the tower, the bitter struggle of the Three Titans continued, and although outnumbered, Godzilla and Elsa found it increasingly difficult to shake off Biollante's many tentacles that attacked and were hitting them incessantly.

In addition, due to the heavy and repeated shocks against the structure, the entire tower was collapsing, huge pieces of the building falling like rain all around them. In a short time, all three would be completely crushed and covered by the whole structure.

Elsa managed to cut one of the tentacles wrapped around her waist and with her giant ice sword, pierced one of the giant mutant's eyes who howled in pain and was disoriented. Elsa took advantage of this short moment of respite to come to Godzilla who continued to hold Biollante against the tower to prevent him from moving while biting him brutally.

_ "Godzilla! We have to move! The tower will fall on us!" Elsa said telephatically in urge, to her king.

But Godzilla had already anticipated it, and seeing that the human tower, several hundred feet tall and thick, began to lean and fall on them, reacted accordingly. He couldn't let Biollante escape, but he also didn't want to put Elsa in more danger than she had been.

Elsa then saw Godzilla show her a determined look, which she didn't really like, guessing what he was going to do. She did not have time to react that with a violent push with his clawed hand, Godzilla pushed Elsa away from him. The queen, in her ice titan body, rolled for several meters amid the smoking rubble of buildings, and could see just after the Apex Tower, like a real mountain of metal, crash down on Godzilla and Biollante and cover them both, in a collapse that shook the city, and perhaps even the whole island.

_ "GODZILLA!!" Elsa screamed in dispair inside her titan body, a tear beading from her eye as the King of the Monsters vanished with his foe, both buried by the huge tower.
