Still stuck in the big APEX pod bound for an unknown destination, Elsa, Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable didn't know how much time had passed, but felt like they had been there for days. Elsa had been sitting in a corner, silent and thoughtful, constantly worrying about Godzilla and wondering where he might be right now. Thanks to the bond she shared with him, she could feel that he was still alive, but also in the grip of this black anger which guided him and pushed him to destroy. APEX was still responsible for her condition, and Elsa was determined to find out the reason and put an end to it.

Kim, also sitting on the cold metal floor, was busy trying to contact Wade with her communicator, but the network was still non-existent. Ron meanwhile, with Rufus in his pocket, had approached with great suspicion the Skullcrawlers eggs contained in stasis in the compartment.

_ "These things give me goosebumps..." he said with a shudder just seeing their embryonic forms through the translucent matter of the eggs.

The embryo in the egg just in front of Ron gave a brief but sudden jerk, enough to make Ron jump up in fear and pull him back, joining Kim. Heart pounding, Ron, to calm down a bit, decided to take a bottle of soda out of his bag and took a sip.

_"What's that?" Kim asked seeing the brand of soda, and seeing a drawing of the titan Mothra on the sticker.

_ "Oh that?..." Ron answered. "It's Kaiju-Cola. It's super popular and it's tastes so good. There are even several stickers with different titans, and some people are collecting."

_"Since the world has known of the existence of the titans... Decidedly, marketing will never cease to surprise me." Kim sighed, shaking her head gently. "I'm willing to bet there will be some at the high school prom."

_"The... the high school prom?" Ron asked, raising an eyebrow.

_"Well yes. It's next week, have you forgotten?" replied Kim.

_ "Ah yes, that prom, of course..." Ron said in a falsely assured way, as if he wanted to believe that he had never forgotten, but Kim was not fooled, smiling crookedly. without laughing. "And... um... Do you know who you'll going with?"

_"Not yet, but I'll see." added Kim, who then preferred to focus on a way to amplify the communicator's signal.

Not wanting to embarrass her, Ron walked away and sat next to Elsa, who all along hadn't said a word, but had observed the scene for a bit and looked at the teen.

_ "You and Kim seem like friends for a long time." she said, breaking her silence.

_ "Oh yes. She and I met in kindergarten." Ron said with a smile. "We immediately became very good friends. And I have always helped her fight crime on earth. It all seems so far away to me now..."

_ "But now you consider her more than a good friend." Elsa then said.

_ "W...What? No, I..." Ron blushed, very embarrassed.

_ "Come on, don't be embarrassed." Elsa said to reassure him. "I sometimes see the way you look at her, and I know that look very well, because...myself...I have already expressed it for my king..."

Ron looked at the former queen of Arendelle.

_ "So everything said about you is true. You really love Godzilla."

_ "Yes, but the bond that unites him and me is a very special love...I love him, and although we are closer than ever in our hearts, we will always be separated by...well. .. our nature... I have a human body, he is a giant monster... We can never truly consummate this love that binds us, and this is the curse of power that awaits immortals like he and I... Even the gods are not spared from fatality."

Ron had listened, fascinated by this explanation, but also feeling very sorry for Elsa, seeing that it seemed to affect her personally, and that was understandable. Elsa forced herself to smile at the younger man nonetheless, then looked over to Kim who was sitting further away and hadn't heard the conversation.

_ "That's why you should never suppress your true feelings, Ron." Elsa told him with conviction. "You are lucky to be able to experience real love. Don't let it pass, or you will regret it for the rest of your life."

Ron looked shyly at Kim, his cheeks slightly flushed, and nervously scratched the back of his neck.

_"But... what if it wasn't mutual?" he says.

_ "Perhaps, nothing is predicted..." Elsa answered with a slight shrug, then nudged Ron's arm in a friendly way to encourage him. "But who doesn't try anything..."

Suddenly, the abrupt and clear stop of the APEX capsule surprised everyone and the green light illuminating the interior indicated the arrival at destination. The locks of the airlock finally unlocked.

_ "Quick, get out of there before someone finds us here." Kim suggested, jumping up and opening the airlock, closely followed by Elsa and Ron.

the trio hurried out and ran for cover, but oddly no one was in sight. They had arrived in a kind of enormous dark and cold corridor, with immense and metallic walls. A service door was on one side, but it was blocked. The only possible way for them was to follow the enormous silent corridor. Kim had picked up her grappling hook, keeping her guard up as Elsa stood ready to use her powers, and Ron stood back, looking around with undisguised fear.

Several minutes' walk further, they arrived on a kind of slightly sloping ramp which seemed to lead into a much larger space, rectangular in shape, but surrounded on all sides by immense walls of metal which looked very solid and thick. Like a kind of arena plunged into an unhealthy semi-darkness. But something else disturbed the trio, grimacing in disgust.

_ "Oh fuck, it stinks of death in here..." Ron moaned, covering his nose and mouth.

Kim then felt her boot walking in a viscous material and looked down, disgusted. She had walked in what looked like rotting flesh. Elsa swallowed as she saw huge puddles of dried blood everywhere, but also a huge bloody eyeball torn out, far too big to belong to any animal. What was this hellish place again? The trio arrived in the middle of the kind of deserted arena, noting the immensity of the place.

_ "It's...colossal..." Elsa gasped.

Ron then let out a brief loud cry, to check the resonance of the echo in the room, which made Elsa and Kim jump up in fear, and they both looked at the young man with a jaded air. Rufus also shook his head gently in annoyance.

Suddenly, imposing searchlights arranged on the heights all around the arena brought out their blinding white lights, one after the other, as if gradually encircling the trio, who surprised at the moment, quickly took position while an alarm was going off.

_"Caution. Lockdown procedure initiated. Please evacuate the test room immediately." then announced a synthetic female voice.

With horror, Elsa, Kim and Ron saw the huge airlock through which they had arrived closing up, and they didn't have time to reach it in time. They were trapped.

Unaware of the presence of intruders in the testing arena, Simmons stood in the observation bay overlooking the room, surrounded by Drakken's henchmen seated behind rows of computers and consoles.

_"Beginning of the test started. 30% reached." announced one of the researchers.

Eager to see this test, Simmons approached the bay window, drinking a glass of whiskey, while Shego stood further back, her arms folded and waiting to see. Meanwhile, seated elsewhere in the middle of other high-tech consoles, Drakken, displaying a cruel smile and sparkling eyes, rubbed his hands and began to put a kind of helmet connected to cables on his head.

_ "Go ahead, Doctor Drakken." Simmons said over the radio.

_"Pilot engaged." Drakken answered hastily in an unhealthy sneer, putting the helmet on his head.

Despite Elsa's powers and Kim's laser, nothing could pierce through the thick armor of the airlock door. But suddenly their eyes were drawn to the center of the arena, the floor of which split open, revealing a gigantic round platform, but it was what was on it that froze the trio in frightened amazement.

It was big... very big! Of a height exceeding 120 meters. But above all, there was nothing organic about it. An imposing mass of a light gray metal alloy, which little by little emitted synthetic red gleams, letting hear the mechanical throbbing of its limbs and its body which gradually straightened up, revealing its true form. in the eyes of the trio, who in their movement of recoil, showed horrified round eyes, especially Elsa, who could not believe what she saw...

This giant reptilian humanoid figure covered in metal plates... These metal plates covering the back... Rotating clawed hands at arm's length... This huge, fully robotic tail... This nightmarish, fully mechanical reptilian head, barely straightening little by little, revealing a menacing shiny artificial red eye, which, opening its jaws, let out a powerful metallic roar that shook the room and everyone's eardrums.

Elsa was speechless, her eyes riveted on this abominable thing. This vision was like a flash of the past in her, bringing her back centuries, when another abomination had arisen, created also by human madness and the desire for power...

_ "A... A robot Godzilla?" Kim breathed, stunned.

_ "No... It's Mechagodzilla." said Ron, shaking all over as Rufus, more than terrified, hid in the pocket.

The mechanical thing took a step forward, shaking the entire room, as the plates covering its legs aligned perfectly with each other, just like the plates on its back. From the viewing bay, Shego couldn't hide that cruel smile on her green lips, seeing such a monstrously beautiful thing. Simmons, meanwhile, remained in awe of this creation he had made with Drakken.

_ "Very well. Release number 10." he ordered.

In the pit, Elsa, Kim and Ron suddenly saw one of the sides of one of the walls, finally revealed to be an airlock, open slightly, but also saw the tip of a clawed snout and hands escape, frantically scraping and pushing on the door to force it open. Their hearts all leaped and Ron screamed in fear as a Skullcrawler's head popped up, growling and thrashing frantically. Kim imitated her friend and fled as well, but Elsa was left paralyzed.

_"Elsa! Run, damn it!" Kim yelled at her.

As if coming back to reality, she fled, trying to catch up with the two others further ahead, who were heading towards a sort of small observation shelter, fortunately empty. The Skullcrawler was freed and immediately set off in pursuit of the nearest prey, Elsa.

But as he was about to pounce on Elsa to tear her apart, the Skullcrawler was brutally grabbed mid-air by the giant, powerful, mechanical hand of the Mechagodzilla. Elsa then stared, in horror, seeing the giant robotic monster grab the Skullcrawler by both arms, immobilizing him perfectly. The creature roared and thrashed as the Mechagodzilla slowly opened its jaws, an increasingly strong red glow being seen deep in its throat. A powerful red laser beam exploded from the jaws of the metal monster, puncturing the Skullcrawler's head and gradually cutting the body in half as if it were paper and spilling all of its blood and organs on the ground. Meanwhile, Elsa had taken the opportunity to come and take refuge in the observation shelter with Kim and Ron, and all three were watching the killing in horror. They were sickened when the glass in front of them was sprayed with green blood and viscera.

However, the Mechagodzilla immediately fell back into an inactive state, its head drooping and its eyes draining of energy. In the observation room, Simmons was annoyed to see this.

_"At 70% capacity, it continues to discharge and shut down." the former APEX director huffed in frustration.

_"It was to be expected." Drakken declared from the room of control of the mecha, taking off his helmet. "Anyway, the weapons test is proving a complete success. Don't worry, Simmons. When my team finds the primary source of the titans, our power problem will be nothing but an unpleasant memory. I have every confidence in Berg to carry out this mission."

In the observation shelter, Elsa, Kim and Ron couldn't get over what they had seen.

_ "So that was it..." Elsa breathed fearfully. "That's why Godzilla attacked the facilities owned by APEX. It was for this monstrous, mechanical thing..."

_"But for what purpose?" Ron asked, confused.

_ "I think I guessed..." Kim then said, looking gloomy but also worried about what this would bring. "They don't just want to kill Godzilla... They want to replace him."

Replace him? The mere thought made Elsa shudder in dread, and glancing again at that soulless metal abomination, sighed softly.

_ "Godzilla... I beg you, where are you? We need you... I need you."

Meanwhile...

Somewhere far from land, Godzilla kept swimming, tearing the surface of the water with those dorsal spikes.

"Godzilla..."

Suddenly, the familiar and distant voice of Elsa in his mind disturbed him, but not only... Another presence, much less friendly, but above all, devoid of the slightest spark of life, had just appeared... A strangely very familiar presence, almost like... from... the past? Turning around -face, roaring with anger, Godzilla changed his direction, kicking up huge waves in his wake and began his new swim towards this menace he had now been tracking for some time... And finally, he had found him !
