Chapter 18
Chanyeol's POV
White snowflakes fell the day my dad ran away.
All that was left was my broken mother and a dead house.
Everything was silent except for my mother's shushed sobs.
My brother was still at daycare and I had come home early from school.
I was at a lost so I decided to go to the park.
In the winter, everything was abandoned.
The park was empty except for a small kid sitting on the swings.
I wanted to go on the swings, and nothing was going to stop me.
I sat on the swings and he looked at me.
He blinked as I swung back and forth.
"Did your mommy yell at you too?" He asked quietly.
"No, I left on my own," I kept swinging while I answered.
"My mommy wished she's never had me," he hung his head down.
"I guess we're on the same track." I replied and he smiled.
"Who needs them anyways!" He got up and offered me his hand.
I stopped swinging and took it.

After the winter passed, we had built snow mans, snow forts and watched the snowflakes fall together.
When the snow melted, so did he.
He had left without saying a word and after days of waiting there by myself, I gave up.
~
I pulled up by the flashing red dot on my phone and tried to concentrate.
Why am I having flashbacks of my pitiful childhood now?
Except that winter was my most treasured memory.
I got out of my car and walked to the small convenient store.
When I went inside I saw something that resembled Sehun.
His hair was dyed a light brown and he was smiling at children while selling them their lollipops.
When the kids left I kept staring at the register.
He looked so kind, so happy.
Like all the things that hurt him had left him.
But I can't let him stay here.
What about Luhan?
I walked up and stared into his eyes.
"Can I help you?" He smiled and spoke.
His eyes weren't dead like they used to be.
But they weren't as alive as they looked when they saw Luhan.
I looked at his name tag that said "Jae".
"Do you remember me?" I asked.
"I don't think we've ever met." He smiled. "Were you looking for anything specific?"
"When do you get off work?"
"Um, in an hour. Why?"
"I'll wait for you."
He just looked at me weird and shrugged.
So innocent and unsuspecting.
It's people like that that are preyed on.
Baekhyun's POV
"I'm sorry Baekhyun" her voice rang in my head.
"This for the best," the ghostly voice pressed on.
"It would be easier," my mom's voice finally died down.
In the winter when I was 6, my mom had taken away her pain.
I've realized that suicide doesn't end pain, it passed down that pain to the people that care about you.
I grimly pushed away that memory and remembered the boy with a too large smile that took my hand when I reached out for him.
He might not remember me, but I instantly recognized him.
One day when Chanyeol had came to visit me I started tickling him and he smiled.
It was the first time in a long time, it had seemed that he had forgotten how to smile.
And seeing that goofy grin, I remembered.
He was my first love and his smile still made my heart flutter like it did over a decade ago.
"Luhan, I know this may seem unrealistic, but please trust Chanyeol."
Luhan didn't move.
"He said he wanted you to at least stay alive until he returns."
"Why?"
"I think that Chanyeok thinks that Sehun might be alive,"
Luhan immediately shot up and walked towards me.
"Where?"
"I don't know, and neither will you if you die."
He kept searching my eyes for an answer.
"Do it for the hope that Sehun is still there."
He just nodded and took a small sandwich that Kyungsoo brought and took one small nibble.
I smiled gratefully.
Sehun's POV
The stranger just stood there.
He didn't move or speak.
He just stared at me.
Finally when my shift was over my uncle came.
"Jae, I'll take it from here," he said in his distinct accent.
"Sure uncle," I replied and the stranger was standing outside.
I went outside to greet him and he just pulled my arm.
He pulled me towards him and I faced him.
"Who's that guy?"
"My uncle..."
"Jae," he scoffed, "what a shitty name."
"Hey did you call me out to insult my name?"
"When's your birthday?"
"I, I don't know..." I thought about it and my head hurt.
"My uncle said my name was Jae and that I fell into a river and hit my head," I pointed at the scar on my head.
"Did you have any other injuries?"
"Yeah, one on my hip,"
"Oh Sehun, please remember!" His deep voiced growled and I was taken aback.
"Remember what?"
"Remember who you are,"
My head hurt and my uncle came out of the store.
"Give me Jae," the stranger's voice was low and dangerous.
My uncle just nodded and ran into the store.
He dragged me into his car and I was shouting for my uncle to help me.
Then the view became black.
Chanyeol's POV
What a ruckus.
If I didn't knock him unconscious he would just keep screaming.
How could he forget?
I kept thinking about how to get his memory back.
Should we go to the hospital or is that too risky?
We were planning to move away from Seoul anyways.
We'll treat him in China.
Since that's where Luhan came from and with a Korean passport it takes too long to go elsewhere.
Luhan's POV
My front door opened and in came Chanyeol dragging someone behind him.
Chanyeol pushed the person in front of me and my head blurred.
My stomach flipped and I was flying as I ran into his arms.
I hugged him tightly and started sobbing into his chest.
The familiar warmth was all too heart wrenching.
Sehun pulled away from me and looked confused.
"Who are you?"
