Dear Reader,

This story is loosely based on the real story of the Titanic, all the characters that they meet one they go back in time are loosely based on real people that did exist and sail on the Titanic (except for crew members on the Titanic: Lightoller, Ismay, Captain Smith,Andrews etc.) once they go back in time really did exist. I say it is loosely based on the real story because for those of you who don't know the Titanic sank in about 1.5 hours, with over 1,500 people still on board, most of whom were third class. All the fact about the ship are true. I thought it would be fun to write a story about what may have happened if the Titanic did not sink. In chapter 4, I mentioned that Mr. Andrews originally put enough lifeboats on the ship but they were cut out of the plans by the White Star Line (meaning there were only 20 lifeboats on board, my characters were able to add 15 more). This is true- they really were cut out of the plans because the ship was deemed "unsinkable". Actually when the Titanic was first being built the called her "practically unsinkable" meaning it would take a lot to sink it. It was the people that took out the word "practically" when they saw her size and splendor. Well, they were proved wrong. Anyway, I hope you like my story of what would happen if the Titanic didn't sink.
