Chapter 2

Mikasa woke up, the cloudy Saturday morning greeted her. She layed in bed, staring out the rain splattered window. It was coming down hard, it must have started a few hours before
She felt confused. Was Eren that boy? Was he the one that saved her? If so, then she needed to know, and if not, then she needed to know! He could be The One.
Mikasa layed lifeless on the floor, her right cheek had a slight amount of blood from a harsh slap she had recieved from one of her captors. The Titans.
A gang of sex traffickers. She was their next victim, they had killed her parents and taken her to some cabin a few miles away from her home.
Her legs and feet were bound.
"What are we gonna do now?" Asked one of the guys.
"Wait till Jim gets back I guess," the other one replied.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. And one of the men got up to see who it was. When he answered it, his voice was slightly raised, the suddenly caring. Then silence... then a loud thump.
"What?!" The other man yelped, running to the door.
A roar, a sickening slicing sound, then another thump. Suddenly a boy with dark hair and green eyes stood in front of her, concern painted his face.
He took a blood covered knife and cut the bonds. She felt her wrists in relief. Then she remembered, there were three men, he only killed two.
"T-There were two," she stuttered out.
As she said that, a powerful hand grabbed her savior, smashing him into a wall. He dropped the knife. Instead of fear crossing his face, determination was. The man started choking him.
"You little brat!" He roared, smashing him into the wall again. "You'll fucking pay for this!"
"Y-You have to fight," he choked out. "To live," he barely managed the last words out.
Those words sparked a fire in her, and she grabbed the knife and went in for the kill...
She sighed, wishing her real parents were around. Of course she loved the ones she had now, but still missed her mom. Still missed the stories her dad told her at bed time. It hurt. Every time she thought about it her eyes watered. But she fought it back, and got up to take a shower.
Her room had a bathroom in it, her family was quite wealthy. But they didn't act stuck up or look down on people. They acted like normal people, there was nothing wrong with them.  But she bathed and then got dressed, wearing a t-shirt with jeans and converse. And of course, the scarf was on too.
The raven haired girl looked out the window, it was still pouring. She hated the rain. It was raining the same day it happened. She hated it, the only thing even close to good that day was him. It was the same day he saved her. Her stomach got butterflies when she thought of the carbon copy of the boy from years before. She knew it was him. It had to be. She would ask him soon.
She then grabbed her phone and checked the time. It was six in the morning. She looked out the window again, watching the clouds' tears race down the glass, the occasional lightning would shock the sky. It would look like a crack across the clouds.
Then, Mikasa Ackerman, walked down the stairs to the living room. The living room was clean. A hardwood floor with a glass coffee table in the middle with large couches on each side. She saw a note on the clean coffee table. Har hand reached for it and she picked it up, the adhesive pealing off in the process.
Emergency business trip for me and yiur father, heading to Stohess! Love you honey. We aren't sure when we'll be back.
Mikasa sighed as she crumpled up the paper and tossed it in the trash. Her parents were gone often, they made slogans for businesses, and weren't very good at it. But they managed to sustain themselves due to inheritance on her adoptive mother's side.
Breakfast sounds good, she thought, heading for the kitchen. She made herself a bowl of cereal and sat at the island in the middle of the kitchen. She ate in the eerily quiet house. Her crunches being the only audible thing in the room. Her cereal was soon gone, and her bowl in the sink, soon to be washed.
Her phone went off and she looked at it. Krista.
"Hey, me and Eren are gonna go down to the pool house again pretty soon. Wanna join? We'll pick you up!"
She quickly answered. "Sure! I'm ready!"
"Be there in a few," was the reply.
She quickly grabbed her purse and got ready. She had planned the day to be for laying around and napping, but now she was gonna hang out with Krista and... Eren. It had to be him. It had to be.
-----
Krista woke up alone on the couch. It took her a second to remember where she was. But then she did. She was at Eren's house. Eren's. Her stomach fluttered at that. Where was he? She wondered. The storage shed he lived in was shaking due to the wind. It was pouring, she loved the rain. The thunder would sometimes drown the noise of her parents fighting and yelling.
The pitter patter of it hitting the roof, the way it fell, it was hypnotising. The window of Eren's "house" as he called it shook from the wind, as if it were about to blow away. It was coming down hard. She got up from the couch and yawned with a stretch.
Where was he? She checked the rest of his house. Not in the bedroom. Not in the bathroom. Not in the house. She went to open the door, but right when she turned the knob the wind blew it open abruptly, blowing her back. The petite blonde quickly pushed it closed, catching a quick glance that Eren's truck wasn't on the curb where he parked.
Well he left. He would be back. She knew that. What time was it anyway? She checked her phone that was in the pocket of her old jeans that she had left in the bathroom. Five-thirty in the morning. It read. She was tired, but wanted to be awake when Eren got there.
She waited on the couch for fifteen minutes until he walked in holding bags of foods. She got up and helped him carry them and close the door behind him. He sat the groceries and fast food bags down on the coffee table between the TV and couch.
"Figured you could use a bite to eat," he told her, pulling out a few cans of food and breakfast items. He tossed her a biscuit. She clumsily missed it and it landed on the floor.
"You're good," he laughed and tossed her another. Which she missed again. He laughed again and tossed her another. She caught it. Although barely.
"Don't worry, I bought like thirty of them," he told her, grabbing his own.
     "Why?!" She asked, amazed.
"Well," he said through a mouth full of biscuit. "I figured a few other people could use some," he told her, downing the biscuit with coffee.
"I got like seventeen coffees too,"
     "Wow,"
"What's on your schedule? Want me to take you home?" Eren asked her.
"No, not really," she replied, stroking her hair.
"Then we can hang out for the day," Eren proposed.
     "Sure!" She answered with enthusiasm.
"Do you think that Mikasa or any of the others would wanna go?" He asked her. "I figured we could hit the pool house again,"
"Mikasa would, but the others might wanna sleep in,"
"I usually would be but since I got company," he laughed as she looked down. "I went ahead and got up and got myself coffee and got some food,"
     "You're good company,"
      She brightened at that. "Thanks."
"Well let's head out, we can stop by your house and get you out of those rags,"
"But these are your clothes you're insulting," she told him, confused.
      "I know,"
"Sure, let's stop by my house," she agreed. Giving up on understanding him.
She gave him the directions and soon they were at her house. He waited in the truck while she would sneak in and grab a set of clothes and change. She opened the unlocked door, getting away from the rain, closing it softly behind her. She saw her mother snoring on the couch, a pile of beer cans and a pint of Crown on the floor below her. Her father was probably in the bedroom.
Since they were hungover she could be as loud as she wanted so she casually went to her room and grabbed a t-shirt and pants and a jacket as well as sneakers. She quickly got dressed and left. Eren was in his truck, waiting. She jogged back to the truck and they were off again.
"Hey, I texted Mikasa," Krista read her messages. "She wants to join in!"
     "Fine by me," he answered.
They pulled up to the curb of her house and waited. She was soon out of her house and running toward them across her yard. Krista slid close to Eren again, very close, and Mikasa slid into where Krista previously had been.
"Pool house?" She asked, wiping water off of her brow from the pouring rain.
"Yep," Eren told her, shifting into gear.
They arrived at the pool house quickly. They played for the most lart of the morning, Eren won literally wvery game. He was good. Professional good. The girls were amazed at his geometrical skills, it was like he had a protractor in his head.
Eventually they left and got lunch, which Eren payed for. Then they went to see a movie, then they went to his place, which they spwnt the evening. They just decided to hang out, Eren and Krista sat on the couch while Mikasa layed in the recliner next to it, diagonal to the TV. It was still raining. She curled up with a soft fuzzy blanket.
Eren layed on one side, while Krista layed on the other. Her eyes were drooping.
"Hey Eren?" She asked him over the movie that played over the TV.
"Yeah Krista?" He asked, rubbing his wet hair from the shower that he had taken.
"Do you remember me?" She asked him.
     "No, I don't, why?"
"Because I remember you," she said.
     "From where?" He asked.
"You gave me this scarf," she told him.
His face drained all color and lost all expression. Krista listened between the two, understanding that she wasn't a part of this conversation. But she was going to listen. Eren stared at Mikasa's scarf, that had been taken off and was on the coffe table.
"I remember that," he told her, his voice slightly shaky.
"You do?" Her face brightened, and she jumped out of the recliner.
He slowly stood up, staring at her, a smile slowly crossed his face, and he extended his arms. She extended her own and walked to him quickly, the wrapped their arms around eachother. He started sobbing. She did the same.
"I can go if you guys want," she offered, standing up and walking toward the door.
"No don't!" Eren exclaimed, reaching his hand out to her over Mikasa's shoulder.
"Yah, you are fine, we've been rude not explaining anything," Mikasa agreed. Grabbing a tissue out of a box on the coffe table.
They all three sat down, and Eren and Mikasa told her their story.
