Chapter Eighteen

Run

Ash's POV

"They're here." Titan said and looked to where the sound was coming from. My eyes opened wide in horror. I can't believe they found us already. How did they do that? Titan looked over at me and lifted me up on his back as he started to run through the woods.

"Keep an eye out." Titan demanded. I said ok and turned my head to look behind me. I heard footsteps coming close so they must have another robot searching for us. How many robots does this world have?!

Titan stopped and I turned my head back around, wondering why we stopped. My eyes widen when I seen a herd of Alligators right next to the water.

"Um, that is not good." I pointed out. There were about eight alligators looking directly at us. They were basically saying, "I want to eat you" I do not want to get eaten today! Nor ever!

I turned my head around and seen two people running directly at us.

"Titan, they are here." I whispered to him in concern.

Titan turned around and faced the two guys who were headed right towards us.

"I want you to run the opposite direction. Do not go back to the house. They already took that over. Run around the swamp. I will find." Titan put me down and pointed to the direction he wanted me to run.

"No. I am going back to that house. All our weapons are there. I am going back." I demanded and started running towards the house, a little distance from the two guys.

I heard Titan say the words, 'Why do I have to love a idiot for?' when I ran off. I smiled and shook my head, picking up my pace.

I continued to run and run until I reached to a point where I could see the house from a distance. I stopped and hid behind a tree, looking at the house.

There is two guys in the front, standing guard and then one on the balcony. There must be a couple inside also. I need to find a way to distract them, but how?

'You are smarter than you think' Titans words run through my head over and over again as I stared at the guys who are standing guard.

I looked towards the back of the house and smiled. I have to see if anyone is there. I looked at the guys once more and started to run towards the back. I peeked around the corner, and spotted one guy looking down at his phone, texting away.

'Order to be clever, you must be sneaky.' Titan's words came through my head once again. I took a deep breath and snuck up behind him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, putting him in a choke hold. Titan taught me if I didn't want to kill anyone doing this, then I have to put them asleep.

The guys phone fell to the ground as he tried to fight back, but I fought him back even harder. I felt him ease up and soon his eyes closed and he began snoring. I chuckled and laid him quietly on the ground.

"Sleep tight, my friend." I whispered, grabbing his gun from his holster, then his knife from his boot.

I loaded the gun and looked through the window by the back door, wondering if anyone is watching. Once I knew no one was watching, I opened the door, quietly and stepped inside. I held the gun like Titan taught me, and checked my surroundings before moving on to the kitchen. The kitchen was all clear. I said to myself as I made my way to the living room. Still nothing. They have to be upstairs going through our stuff. That is why the one guy is on the balcony.

I turned around and walked slowly up the stairs, I began to hear a two people's voices as I made my way up.

"Titan is clever, Dave. I know he is long gone from here." A lady's voice spoke that sounded awfully familiar.

"It just doesn't add up.... He leaves all these weapons and clothing here, but why?" A man's voice spoke. I am guessing it's Dave's.

"He is playing us, that is why. Titan wants us to believe that he is still here. So we would be distracted in looking here for a few." She spoke up again, but a little louder this time.

I made my way to the top of the stairs, and peeked into the master bedroom, where the voices were coming from.

My eyes widen in shock.

Bianca.....

My own assistant played me. I have known her for so long. I would have never expected her to be standing right there.

I stood against the wall, trying to listen in on their conversation some more.

"That is true, Bianca. But I still think that we are missing something here. What would Ash do?" Dave asked me.

There was a deep silence before she spoke up. "Sir, not to be rude. But why are you after Ash for? I understand what you told me about him and that he is...." Dave interrupted her instantly with a harsh tone.

"I don't care what he is to me."

What?

What does that even mean?

I heard Bianca sigh and footsteps walking towards the door. My jaws clenched and I walked into the bathroom quietly and hid behind the door. If I knew anything about Bianca was that she always went to the bathroom when she was irritated.

And I was right. She was walking directly to the bathroom, and closed the door; hitting the lock button. I put my gun in my back pocket and grabbed my knife. I walked up behind her and put one hand over her mouth and the knife up to her neck.

"Say one word and I will cut your throat." I whispered harshly into her ear. She tried to turn around to see who it was. So I walked her in front of the mirror and her eyes widen in shock and disappointment.

"Promise me you will not scream. Because if you do I won't hesitate to kill you." I lied. She nodded over and over again. I pulled my hand away and turned her around.

"Ash...." She whispered in horror.

I clinched my jaw and stepped closer to her.

"Why the fuck are you working for him? I trusted in you." I whispered rather harshly and gripped onto the knife. Her eyes went down to the knife and looked back up at me nervously.

"I am not working for him, Ash. He just came to see me the day after you 'died'. He said that it was all a lie and that you are running from the government along with Titan." She whispered to me.

"What does he want with you?" I asked.

"He thinks that I would be useful in finding out things for you. He offered me half a million. I need that money since you are supposedly dead." She told me. I looked her into the eyes, seeing if she was lying.

She's telling the truth.....

"Why does Dave want me dead?" I asked her, hoping for the truth.

She shook her head instantly. "I can't tell you..... I can't...." She continued to shake her head and looked down at the ground.

I stepped forward, holding the knife even tighter.

"Tell me, Bianca." I demanded.

She nodded hesitantly and said, "He is-" There was a knock at the door, interrupting her from completing her sentence.

"Bianca, are you alright in there?" Dave asked through the other side of the door.

She looked at me and I raised an eyebrow.

"Tell him you seen Titan and I run into the woods by the boat dock." I demanded.

She nodded.

"Dave, I just seen Titan and Ash run into the woods right by the boat docks!" Bianca shouted as she ran towards the door. I hid behind it as she opened up.

"What?! I knew it!" He shouted and told the others. They began rushing out of the house.

"Be careful." Bianca told me and rushed out of the house as well.

Why does Dave want me dead?
