Chapter Seventeen

Wrong Turn

Ash's POV

I have no idea where I am going, I just kept walking, not paying attention to where I was headed. I am just furious with Titan. Why would he just use me like that? I care so much about him and I.... I love him. He said he loved me too, yet he is pushing me away. I just don't understand about any of this.

"God, where the hell am I going?" I stopped and looked at what was right in front of me. There is a right and left turn. Which do I make? I sighed and said fuck it and turned to my right. My shoes clung to the ground from being in the swampy land.

But back to what I was saying about Titan, I just don't understand why he is doing this. He says it's too dangerous, but aren't we already in danger? We hit danger when he took me in hiding that day of our dinner. Is that what Titan meant by when he said one of us would end up getting killed?

What if Titan still has the killer mind? What if he is just holding back from killing me? He could kill me at any second. Oh what the fuck did I get myself into?

I heard a branch crunch from behind me. I jumped and turned to look. Nothing was there. I turned back around and hid behind a huge tree, ready to fight.

"You are stronger than you believe. Believe that you are stronger." Titan's words kept running through my head over and over. I heard the person getting closer and closer, branches crunching at each step he takes. I can tell it's a guy by the sound of the steps. Titan taught me that also.

Right when I heard the person next to me, I jumped out and punched him straight in the face, pinning him to the ground.

As I looked at his face, my eyes widen in shock.

"Titan what the hell?!" I shouted and got up off of him.

He jumped up also and brushed himself off.

"I told you that you are stronger than you believe." Titan pointed out what just happened.

"Why did you follow me?" I asked with annoyance.

"Did you really think I was going to leave you out here all alone?" He asked me sarcastically. I just rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

"Why? You know that I needed to get away from you, Titan. You hurt me." I explained.

He nodded and said, "I understand that and I am sorry."

"No you are not sorry. You just dragged me along like some little bitch and you thought since you were protecting me, I would give you sex. No Titan it does not work that way." I shouted with so much anger and poison rolling off my tongue.

Titan stepped forward with anger written through his eyes. They turned so dark that I couldn't recognize him any more.

"Do you think that I think so low of you? I love you for crying out loud. Can you see that? I want to be with you so badly.... More than you even know. I want to be with you when you wake up, I want to be with you when you fall asleep. I even want to be there through the hard times so I can pick you up." He said, looking me directly into the eyes.

"I want to be with you when you don't want me to be." I told him and looked away, on the verge of tears.

He stepped forward, closing the distance between us. He cupped my face with his palms and looked me into the eyes once again. I couldn't stop the little tear that fell from my right eye. Titan used his thumb and brushed the tear away and smiled down at me.

Titan leaned in and placed his lips onto mine. I melted in the kiss from the instant electricity shooting directly inside me.

We pulled away instantly when we heard branches crunching.

"They're here."
