Leo had nightmare that night. The one he remembered most vividly, was the one of his mother burning. Except, he could see everything. His mother screaming and choking and banging at the door as her skin burned and she breathed in the smoke. When he woke up, he was crying. Luckily, he woke up earlier then the rest of his siblings. That meant, he got a bathroom first (Well, that and he was head councilor, so he automatically got the bathroom first.) When Leo finished taking a shower and brushing his teeth, he left the bathroom, and found his siblings up. When everyone was ready, they headed down to breakfast. Once they go there, Leo and his siblings started handing out phones and pamphlets about where to go to get a customized phone case and the features. Leo went over to were his friends were sitting.
Leo handed each one to them and told them pridefully "They have more storage then an IPhone. They can get any app, and have unlimited data. They also have unlimited ITunes money. I also made the cases myself. My siblings helped me. So did Annabeth." She smiled at the recognition.
"Cool!" Percy yelled as he turned his phone on.
There were shouts of happiness all around the dining pavilion. Soon, the pavilion was even louder.
Leo smiled as he looked around. When he looked back towards his friends, they weren't there. He frowned. Leo spotted them walking away. He sighed. Of course. Not even a 'thank you'. He was just a tool. A tool to be used, then thrown away. The son of Hephaestus sat down with his siblings and ate. Well, not really. He ate about one bite of the taco he was eating, then got up and left. The rest of the children of Hephaestus looked at him worriedly but didn't say anything.
As Leo walked by the Zeus cabin, he heard voices. No, not the ones in his head, voices coming from the Zeus cabin. They sounded like his friends. Leo walked closer to the door and listened.
"Ugh his jokes are terrible!" He heard Piper say. Who were they talking about?
"Right?! And he's so annoying!" Jason said that.
"Leo just needs to shut up sometimes!" He heard Frank say.
"Come on guys, he's not that bad!" Annabeth. A pretty good friend. Usually.
"Annabeth, you have to admit he's annoying." Piper again.
"Ugh, he's like a bad copy of Sammy." Hazel said. Wow.
"And he's so stupid!" And there's Jason again.
"He flirts with basically everyone!" Frank exclaimed.
"And remember when he fired on new Rome! What if he was lying!" Yep and there's Percy.
Leo felt a tear run down his face. He opened the door.
"Really? If you think I'm annoying, you could have just said it to my face." Leo said.
Jason, Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Hazel and Frank jumped in surprise.
"Oh, hey... Leo... what are you doing here?" Jason said awkwardly.
Leo rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "I heard all of that. And like I said, if you think I'm stupid and annoying, just say it to my face. It probably would've hurt less."
"Leo! We didn't mean it like that!" Piper exclaimed.
"Also, pretty heartless to say something like that about someone in their mothers DEATH ANNIVERSARY." Leo emphasized the last two words. "I mean, not that you would know anything about that considering you told me all your problems and wouldn't listen to mine."
Piper gasped. "Oh my gods Leo I'm sorry! We didn't mean it!"
Leo waved her off. "Yeah sure, whatever. Keep telling yourself that. Cause I highly doubt you ACTUALLY are sorry."
Piper looked hurt.
"Don't be so rude! She said we're sorry!" Jason stood up.
Leo hummed. "And I didn't run away a bunch of times after my mom died. See? We lie everyday!"
The demigods looked confused. "Wha...?" Percy's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be going now." Leo spun on his heel and ran out the door.
"Leo! Wai-!" Annabeth cut herself off. "Ugh."
Leo ran and ran until he was in the forest. He ran to the tallest tree he could find and grabbed onto one of the low branches, swinging himself up. Leo continued climbing until he neared the top. Leo slumped against the middle of the tree and caught his breath. He rubbed his hand across his face. Leo felt something warm and wet on his cheeks. Leo realized he was crying. Just like the old days, running away from his friends and family, Not that he really had any), hiding in trees. The only people to really care about Leo were Josaphina and his mom. And both of them were gone now. Maybe Josaphina was alive. Leo shook his head. Better not get his hopes up. If she were alive, he would probably never see her again. And here come the waterworks, Leo thought as more tears ran down his face. Just thinking about them hurt. Leo sighed and his eyes started to droop. After a minute of struggling to keep his eyes open he closed them and fell asleep.
A/N: Not as sad as I originally hoped, but, ya know. I tried. I'm not sure if I'm spelling Josaphina name right though. If I am, please correct me. I am seriously sorry for practically abandoning this, please forgive me. School got even more stressful, and I have more standardized tests coming up, so there's that. (I swear the American public school system is absolute Minotaur crap.) ThatOneDemeterKid out! mmmmmmbbbyyyyeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
