35: You Can't Have a Priest at a Vampire Wedding
Your pov
Gerard held me close as we stood on the porch of our new house in the woods. We held our bags in hands. He fiddled with the keys, finding the right one until he was able to open the door.
"Here we go! New house!" He spoke excitedly.
"I know, this is so exciting!"
Finally, he opened the door and we both stepped in, taking in the new house smell, and flicking on the lights in the darkness of night. We dropped our bags and wandered around the two story three bedroom home. He sent a smile as we stood in the master bedroom.
"What?" I asked, copying his facial expression.
"I'm just so happy," My smile widened at the sound of this, "We don't have to fight anything off anymore. This is all I've wanted. For you to be safe, with me."
"Aww, Gee..." I hugged him, he kissed the top of my head, "Now," I began, pulling away, "Come help me unpack..." My hand held his as I dragged him back downstairs to our bags. As I was about to grab them, he spun me around and pressed his lips to mine.
"Gerard..." I whispered.
"Jellybean..." He smiled. I grabbed one of the bags and shoved it into his hands.
"Take it upstairs..." He sent a look, "What?"
"I wanna kiss ya so bad..."
"Later, now, we unpack." I kissed his cheek, passing him with a bag in hand, and walking upstairs. He followed close behind. As I opened up my bag now sat at the end of the bed, he did the same just beside me. Every now and then he'd send a glance my way with a small smile.
"What?" I asked, he shook his head and went back to unpacking. Then, he did it again, "What?"
"Nothin'..." I sent a look, "I'm just, so happy to be with you," He smiled. I kissed his cheek, "You're so pretty..."
"You are too..." I kissed his cheek once again before putting my things in the closet. After a moment or two, he came over and leaned on the door frame.
"Y'know what, jellybean?" I hummed, hanging up some shirts, "I think you're the prettiest girl I've ever seen." I looked over at him.
"Gerard, you can stop trying to win me over, you already got me."
"I know, I just can't help it! You're just..." He sighed, "So... amazing..." I stepped over to him.
"Oh dewdrop, I dunno what I ever did without ya," We both smiled. He leaned in, but I held a finger between our lips, "We gotta unpack or else it'll never get done." I removed my finger and kissed his cheek.
"Fine..." He followed me back downstairs to grab our remaining bags. We made it back upstairs. He wouldn't quit smiling at me.
"You're adorable..." I sighed, watching him watching me. He smiled wide, "You're so smiley today."
"I can't help it! I've just moved in with the most amazing woman in all of Texas!"
"Gerard, we're in New Jersey."
"Still, the girls down in Texas don't got nothin' on you," I giggled, leaning into him. He kissed the side of my head, "Uhm, are we doin' anything else today?"
"Besides moving in? No, tomorrow the boys are coming over..."
"Okay, cool..."
"Why?" I asked, curiously.
"No reason..." He smiled, like it was a lie.
"Dewdrop, what are ya up to?"
"I'm not up to anything, beanie! Nothing at all..." I love it when he calls me beanie... no! I must know what he's up to!
"Babe, I know something's up..."
"It's a surprise!"
"Alright then, keep your secrets..."
"You'll find out later, it'll be great."
"Mkay..." This time, he kissed my cheek. Finally, we finished unpacking, and he smiled.
"Can I kiss you now?"
"Go ahead..." He full on tackled me to the floor and showered my face with kisses as I laughed, "Gerard..." I giggled.
"Jellybean..." He chuckled, kissing me all over, "You're so beautiful..."
"You are too..." I pressed my lips to his. Then, his lips went down to my neck, and eventually, he just laid there, holding me close.
"Beanie?" I hummed, "I love you..."
"I love you too..." I felt him smile against my skin. He brought his face back up and kissed me with his smile still spread across his cheeks. We kept kissing back and forth with sweet whispers in between. Eventually, he pulled away and stood up, holding a hand out.
"C'mere, I wanna show you something..." I sent a curious look as I sat up.
"What?"
"Just... c'mere..." With a curious look, I took his hand, and followed him downstairs. The two of us now stood in the middle of the kitchen, his eyes on my eyes. He let go of my hand, and took a nervous deep breath.
"Y/n, my little jellybean, I love you so much," As he spoke I began to put the pieces together, "You mean the world to me, and I mean, I'd do anything to keep you safe with me. You're my girl, and I want that to be forever," He took another nervous sigh, "Pop tart, wanna get married?" He asked, taking out a little black box with a ring in it.
"Oh wow," Tears sprinkled my eyes as I looked at his pretty smile, "Yes... yes, I wanna marry you!" He immediately lifted me in the air with a huge smile.
"This is the best day! I love you so much! Thank you ah! I'm the happiest vampire in the world! I'm gettin' married to the most adorable girl in all of Texas!" I giggled as he kissed me up and down. He finally put me down, but kept kissing me.
"Gerard, stop, I gotta call my mom." I laughed.
"Fine..." He kissed me one last time on the head, "I gotta tell Mikey, anyways." He said with a gigantic smile. I took a seat on the couch as he stepped upstairs, looking for his own cellular device. As I hit call, the phone rang, and eventually, she picked up.
"Mom?"
"Y/n! Hello!" She said excitedly, "You'll never guess where we're at right now!"
"Last time I checked in you were somewhere in the Caribbean, right?"
"Not anymore! Me and your father are in Venezuela."
"Oh, is that Y/n?" I heard in the background along with a muffled 'yes', "Y/n! Hi sweetheart!"
"Hi dad, listen, uhm, I gotta tell you guys something."
"Go on, what is it?" She asked.
"Well, uhm," I took a deep breath, "I'm getting married."
"Married!? Oh my god, Y/n! When!? To who!?" She asked.
"What's going on!?" My dad asked.
"Y/n's getting married!"
"Mom, put the phone on speaker."
"What!?"
"Speaker!" I said, she did so, "I'm getting married to my boyfriend, Gerard."
"Gerard? I don't think you've told us about him..."
"I haven't, we've been together for a few months, but uhm, I didn't tell you cause well," I spoke nervously, "He's a vampire."
"A vampire!? That's great!"
"Wait, really!?"
"Yeah! We've met a few around here, they're really nice. Now, when's the wedding?"
"Uhm, we haven't really decided. He just proposed a few minutes ago."
"Well, make sure we're on the list, we're not gonna miss it. Was there anything else?" I rubbed a hand across my bite mark.
"Mom, can you promise not to get mad?"
"Not get mad? Why would I be mad?" Gerard then came back downstairs and joined me on the couch.
"I'm a half vampire now..." They went silent, I immediately explained, "It wasn't him! We went to a party and his ex bit me and I turned," There was a sigh of relief, "A lot has happened since we last talked, when you come up I'll have to tell you about it."
"Of course," Gerard then made grabby hands at the phone, "So, what's Gerard like?"
"Here, he wants to talk to you." I handed over the phone.
"Uh, hello?" He asked, "Uhuh... uhuh... yessir... no ma'am. She's actually quite lovely, I've never met anyone like her. We're not sure. Maybe... alright... here's Y/n..." He handed the phone back.
"When you get a wedding date tell us immediately!"
"Alright mom," I said, "What did you think?"
"I like him," My dad said, "He seems good for ya."
"Oh, we gotta go! Talk to you later, Y/n, love you." My mom said.
"Love you too, bye." The call ended, and Gerard immediately snuggled close to me.
Time skip to a few weeks later
"Mom! We can't have a priest at a vampire wedding! We're vampires! It'd kill us!" I cried as my mom sat at the dinning room table with me looking over wedding plans.
"Alright! Alright! But then who's gonna do the ceremony?" She asked.
"Uhm..." I looked to the boys in the living room, then Gerard came over.
"What're we talking about?"
"Who's gonna do the ceremony? We can't have a priest."
"Oh, Frank can do that. He's certified."
"Frank!? Really? How did that happen?"
"Uhm..." He thought back for a moment, "I think his dad was a minister or something. When he was like, a teenager he got certified and would do weddings at the church."
"Seriously!?"
"Yeah! But then he started hanging out with a 'bad crowd' with vampires in it and he was turned."
"Huh," I looked in at the boy in the living room.
"It's really sad actually, his whole family shut him out because of it. He's fine though, he's got us now. Most of our group is full of vampires who've been thrown out to the streets."
"Gerard, how'd you become a vampire?" My mom asked.
"Oh I was a caretaker for this ancient vampire, a nosferatu. He had like, the bald face, and the stuck out ears, y'know the type. We became pretty close but uh, one day I came over and he was half dead in his coffin with a holy water covered stake through his heart. He wanted to pass his power onto me, so that was the last thing he did before he died."
"Wow..." I spoke. Even I hadn't heard the whole story...
"Yeah, he was a good guy, anyways-"
"How come you never told me this?" I asked.
"I never thought it was really important."
"Oh-"
"Gerard!" Someone called from the living room, "It's back on!"
"Aight," He kissed the side of my head and joined the other boys. My eyes still stuck to him as he left my side.
"So, what kinda dress are you wanting?" I snapped out of my stare and went back to my mom.
"Uhm, well, Gerard said traditionally at vampire weddings the bride wears black. I was thinking of doing that with like, lace on the sleeves, and all..."
Time skip to da wedding
I stood alone in my dressing room with my black dress on, the exact one I wanted(below). My hair was done up all nice. As I look myself over in the mirror, I added the final details. I can't believe I'm actually getting married... and to the most handsome vampire I've ever seen...
There was then a quiet knock on the door.
"Come in!" I said, the door opened, and Gerard stood beside me in the mirror.
"Wow, you look gorgeous..." I turned to him. He looked absolutely stunning with his black suit paired with his combed back hair.
"Oh wow," I had to step back from him.
"What?"
"I'm afraid if I step any closer I might wanna skip the wedding and do things in that closet over there." I said, honestly. He cocked an eyebrow.
"Damn, I knew I looked good, but not that good." He looked himself over in the mirror, messing with his hair and whatnot.
"Y/n," My mom walked in, "Oh, you know it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding?" She then began messing with my hair.
"Mom, that's just a myth."
"Oh, you two are just adorable together!" She smiled, "Now, you have ten minutes, you better get out there, Gerard."
"Alright, see ya at the alter, beanie."
"See ya Gee..." He smiled once more before leaving the room. Then, just a moment later, my father stepped in. We joined the others, as I was ready to start a whole new chapter in my life.
"You look really nice..." Josh spoke from behind me. I smiled.
"Thanks, you do too..." The music began to play as we walked down the isle. As I stepped down, I spotted a few familiar faces in the crowd. Ryan... Pete... Patrick... Joe... Andy... Dracula...
Black and white flowers decorated the wedding arch where Gerard stood there with the biggest smile I had ever seen. As soon as I stood with him, he took my hand, and Frank began to speak. I ended up tuning out everything he said since I was too distracted by the boy standing across from me. Before I knew it, Gerard began to speak.
"I do..." Frank spoke again, everyone's eyes were on me.
"I do..." And Gerard pressed his lips to mine. Everyone cheered loud. This is it... I'm here... with him... forever...
But then, suddenly, I awoke. Gerard still slept soundly with his arms around me. Wow... I just lived through our wedding... and I'll get to again...
"Gerard..." I whispered, "Gerard..." He hummed.
"Yeah...?"
"I saw our wedding..."
"Really? But it's not till tomorrow..." He spoke tiredly, "How was it?"
"Beautiful..." He smiled, then snuggled closer to me.
"Oh, good..." I kissed the top of his head. I'm so happy... Gerard and I... forever...
