"... Y/n? Jellybean? Can you hear me?" Opening my eyes, everything in me felt off. It was as if I was in a totally different body.

"Gerard?" I asked, looking up at him. He smiled.

"Yeah, it's me baby," He took me into a tight hug, "Sweetheart, we gotta get out of here."

"What? Why?" I asked, sitting up, and spotting Josh sat on the floor.

"Billie and Roxanne know we're here. We need to go somewhere else. It's not safe anymore."

"Oh," I spoke sadly, "Where are we going?"

"For now, we're gonna go to Pete's. He knows way more on half vampires than I do."

"Wait, what about Josh? Will he be safe?" I asked, looking to my friend.

"I don't think so. Josh, would you like to come with us?"

"Where are we going?"

"To a friend's." He said. Josh nodded.

"I need to gather a few things, but I should be ready soon." He then left the room. Almost immediately, I hugged onto Gerard.

"Do we really have to leave?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry, but I want you safe. This is the best option," I nodded, he kissed my cheek, "Start packing, we'll leave as soon as the sun goes down."

"Okay," Saddened, I pulled out a bag and began putting clothes and things inside it. As I did so, Gerard came over and hugged me from behind.

"Jellybean, I know this is tough for you. I'm sorry. I just love you so much. Keeping you safe is my number one priority."

"Gee, I know, I love you too," He kissed the side of my head, "Is going back to that place really a good idea? That boy shot you there..."

"It's our best option. The boys will be there too, so you'll be safe." Quickly, I pulled all my things together, then took one last look at my home. This is gonna be tough...

Quietly, I held a hand to the wall split between Josh and I's home. So many late night wall talks...

"Sweetheart? Are ya ready?" I carefully took the little stuffed bear from my bed, then nodded.

"Yeah..." I spoke sadly.

"C'mere..." I stepped closer to him, he pulled me into a comforting hug, "Y'know, I was thinking... once we're able to leave Pete's... I was... well," I looked at him, curiously, "Maybe we could get our own place? Together?" I smiled.

"That sounds great, I'd love to do that." He smiled, then pressed his lips to mine.

"Eww..." Josh had walked through the door, Gerard pulled away.

"Are ya ready?" He asked. Josh sighed.

"I guess so..." His tone was saddened. We all then began down the stairs, my eyes taking one last look at my little home. Grabbing my last box of pop tarts, I followed the two boys out to the porch.

"Goodbye house! Goodbye Josh's house!" I waved, Gerard chuckled, and took my hand.

"Can I take my bike?"

"Sure..." Sadly, I stuck my bag into the basket. Josh did the same with his bike. With one last look at our home, we rode off. Gerard sped beside us, showing the way.

~Time skip~

Gerard and I set everything up in our room as Josh did his. There was then a knock at the already open door. Pete stood there without a shirt on.

"Pete, hey," Gerard greeted.

"Hey guys, you all settled in?"

"Yeah, pretty much," Said Gerard, "Thanks again for letting us stay here."

"No problem, when you told me she'd turned into a half vampire I just couldn't say no," He then turned to me, "I used to study half vampires before I got turned into a vampire. They're very interesting cause-"

"Oh, there you are!" Mikey cried, standing behind Pete who then moved out of the way.

"Aw, did you miss your boyfriend?" Gerard teased.

"Shut up!" He then turned to Pete, "When is she gonna start her training?" Training? To be a vampire? Did others have to go through this?

"We could start today. Y/n? You wanna start today?"

"Uh, what will I be doing?" Am I gonna learn how to bite people!? Use weapons!? Oh god...

"Just figure out what kinda powers you got. We call it training, but it's really just figuring out your powers." Oh okay... that doesn't so bad...

"Okay, sure..."

"I mean, we could teach you how to use stakes and garlic bombs, but I don't think we'll really need that." I nodded. Don't want that...

"Actually," Gerard began, "We already found one of her powers."

"Really?" He nodded.

"Go on, tell them jellybean."

"Uhm, I'm not entirely sure how to explain it, but, I saw the future. I guess that's the best way to explain."

"Future vision? Interesting," Pete took a step closer to me, "How did it come?"

"While I was asleep, in a dream." Pete hummed.

"It saved my life." Gerard smiled at me.

"Cool, c'mon, let's get you started." Gerard and I walked out of the room, and outside into the front yard with Pete and Mikey. Frank and Ray already stood there.

"Okay, so basically what we're gonna do is test out what kinda powers you might have. Like uhh, speed, strength, increased senses, bat turning, and anything else you may have gotten." Pete explained.

"She's just a half vampire, right?" Frank asked.

"Yeah, so actually, it's really interesting cause you still have a lot of human aspects to you," Pete explained, "So, you can still go out in the day, but you burn a lot easier in the sun. You still gotta eat, but just a little bit. It's really a better deal being a half vampire."

"Cool..." I said.

"Alright, let's start!" Frank cried, impatient.

"He's gonna take off, and all you gotta do is try to keep up with him." Pete explained, I nodded.

Frank then began to speed, so I did my best to follow close behind. Luckily, it wasn't too hard. It seemed as if I was way faster.

"Woah..."

"Did I do good?" I asked. They stood there, eyes wide.

"That was awesome! You were so fast!" I giggled at my boyfriend's excitement.

"Alright, Ray, strength test," Ray nodded, then ran out into the empty street. He slammed his fist down into the asphalt. Gigantic cracks ran throughout the areas around him, "Your turn."

Stepping out into the road, I found a spot without any cracks. The asphalt underneath me was tough and full of rocks. I got this...

I did exactly as Ray had done. Slamming my fist into the asphalt, but no cracks had come around. Only pain shot through my fingers.

"Ow..." Shaking my searing fingers, the pain had gone away in just seconds. Gerard ran over to me.

"Did it not work?" I shook my head, "Try again..." I did so, and the same thing happened, "She doesn't have super strength!" He said to the boys.

"As a half vampire," Pete began, walking towards me, "You're most likely only gonna have about half of the typical vampire powers. All though, common powers do differentiate between vampires. So maybe you have something else."

"Like what?"

"I'm not sure, maybe you can speak to rodents, or you have enhanced hearing, smell, vision. Your senses should already be somewhat heightened, but we'll figure it all out."

"Cool..."

"It's really interesting cause the only power that's universal through every vampire is regeneration. People think it's bat turning too, but some vampires actually can turn into rats, crows, any sort of rodents. Some can turn into bats and another animal, like Frank." Frank then proceeded to smile wide and wave.

"So, I might turn into a mouse? Or a bird? How do I turn?"

"Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how to explain it. You kinda just, do it."

Pete then proceeded to disappear into thin air. His body was replaced by a gigantic black bat. Flying around, he did a few flips and things until he turned back.

"How do I do that?"

"Just think about turning into a bat," Gerard said, I did so, nothing happened, "Concentrate..." He instructed, I did as told. Nothing had happened.

"Try not thinking at all. It's different for some vampires. Some need to concentrate while others just-" They both looked to me. That was when I fell to the asphalt. Why am I so small?

"Aww, jellybean, you did it! You're such an adorable little bat!" Gerard bent down, holding a finger out. How the hell do I do this?

Without even thinking, I was back in my normal body. They both smiled.

"Sweetheart, that was so good!" He hugged onto me. I giggled.

"It was weird as hell," I said, pulling away, "How do I fly?"

"We'll teach ya more bat stuff tomorrow. B-" That was when, my phone buzzed. Naomi? Why's she calling me?

"Uh, sorry, I gotta take this..." I ran inside, and hit answer, "He-"

"Y/n! What the fuck is up with you!? You haven't been to work in days! We're worried sick!" If I'm being completely honest, I had totally forgotten about work...

"Oh, I'm sorry. I uh, could you tell Jessica that I quit?"

"Quit!? Why!?"

"Uhm, it's kinda hard to explain."

"Explain it. Everyone's been so worried about you. I went by your house after work, you weren't home. Josh wasn't home..." I had no idea they cared so much...

"Look, I... well..." Gerard walked into the room. He held a curious look, "I can't come into work anymore. It's just not working out."

"Y/n, tell me what the hell is going on with you."

"Fine! But, promise me you won't freak out."

"Why would I freak out?"

"Naomi, I'm in love with a vampire." Gerard smirked, I could practically hear their shock through the phone.

"A... a vampire? Are you sure?"

"I know it sounds crazy, but I am. His name's Gerard."

"How'd you meet him?"

"Saved me from a werewolf."

"What the fuck!? You never told me about this! And... my god Y/n... a vampire!? And... you're going out... you could get bit! Oh, what have you done!?"

"Nothing at all. He's just, wonderful."

"Y/n, where are you? I'm gonna get you outta there. Are you hurt!? Did he hurt you!?"

"Dude, you promised you wouldn't freak out. I'm fine. Actually, I'm great, better than I've ever been. I should go, tell Jessica I quit. For personal reasons. Bye."

"Wait no-" I hung up, then stepped towards Gerard.

"I'm wonderful?" He stepped forward, resting his arms around me, "And you're in love with me?"

"Of course..." I brought my arms around him, "I love you more than anything."

"Jellybean, I love you too." He then kissed me sweetly.

"Eww..." We both turned to see Josh had walked into the room. He then stepped out and walked the other way. We both just laughed. I'm in love with a vampire... unlike what others think, I wouldn't have it any other way...
