Chapter Fifteen - Talisman Truth

Andrew wasn't budging.
Rayna dreaded doing things the hard way, but this became the hand she was dealt.
Under the watchful gaze of her companions, she placed the bowl down at her feet behind Andrew.
She scooped up some of the mixture onto her index and middle finger, then spread half of it over to the same digits on her other hand.
With a deep breath, the Heretic placed her fingertips to Andrew's temples and recited a spell.

April 1743, the Battle of Culloden.

"James! James!" Andrew yelled through the roars and screams of the British soldiers and Scottish clans.
"I'm here, brother!" The younger sibling called back.
Andrew looked to his left, taking a deep sigh of relief at the sight of James running towards him through the crowds of bloodied, battered and exhausted men fighting for their countries.
"This is a war the clans will nae win. You need to run, James. Save yerself." Andrew gripped his brother's shoulders.
"No, Andy. We've already lost mother, father and Annys. I cannae lose you too." James sobbed in desperation.
"Ye will nae. I will find you, brother, after the battle. I promise." Andrew smiled.
"How can ye be so sure?" James asked.
"I have this." Andrew replied, taking out a small vile from the pouch on his kilt.
"Is that Vampire blood?"
"Aye. I got it from a friend of mine. We made a vow and I plan to stick to that as well as the one I promise you." The older brother told him.
James was hesitant, but nodded, giving Andrew's arms a reassuring squeeze before turning to flee.
Andrew took the top from the vile and drank its entire content without a second's thought.

Andrew sat up abruptly, catching his breath. His hands instantly went to his chest, where the remnants of a bullet wound was clearing up.
As soon as he knew the coast was clear, he got up from the pile of bodies he found himself amongst; he took one look back at his fellow clansmen with mournful eyes, then began the walk to his brother.

"Andrew! I thought you were a goner." James audibly sighed his relief as he ran to his brother, engulfing him in a hug.
It wasn't until Andrew pulled away that he saw the nasty black eye on his younger brother's face.
"What happened to yer, lad?" He asked, brushing his fingertips gently along the fresh bruise and torn skin.
"The coven came. They told me not to do the spell to bring our family back. When I resisted, they beat me and took the talisman off me." He told him, putting his head down in shame.
Andrew visibly tensed up for two reasons.
One, the only means to complete his family again was gone and God only knew where. Two, he was in transition into a Vampire and was in desperate need of blood – Blood that his younger brother's face was coated in.
Andrew felt his eyes go dark and his gums hurt immensely.
He just stood there in slight shock, not tearing his wide eyes from the blood on his fingers where he had touched his brother's cheek.
"Ye have nae fed yet, have ye, brother?" James more stated than asked.
Andrew just shook his head.
"Never you mind me, lad. We'll find that talisman. Even if it takes us a thousand years."

Rayna gasped, stumbling back a few paces as she came out of her magic-induced haze.
"What did you find?" Maze asked.
"I know what he needs the talisman for." The Heretic nodded, looking down at the now unconscious Andrew.

"So all this death, destruction and retaliation was all because of the family he lost nearly three centuries ago?" Chloe frowned. "There's got to be more to it than that."
"Family always meant everything to Andrew as a Human. Once he was turned into a Vampire, those feelings and emotions only amplified. It makes sense. And I think it's pretty safe to assume that Andrew turned James and that was who he gave the talisman to after he stole it from our Witch victim." Rayna told her.
"So what do we do with him now?" Maze asked.
Rayna briefly looked to Lucifer, who was still by the piano watching everything unfold, but remaining quiet.
Clearly, he just wanted to see if Rayna's morals had changed in the centuries they spent a part.
"Does Lux have a basement or something?" She asked.
"We have a wine cellar." Maze nodded. "But mostly I just use it to host underground sex parties."
"And you didn't invite me..." Lucifer shook his head in disbelief for his right-hand Demon, who just shrugged.
"Gross. But that'll do." Rayna rolled her eyes.

After chaining Andrew's unconscious form to the basement wall's chain loops, used for keeping wine barrels from falling over, Rayna sealed it with rock salt and a containment spell. She chuckled at the fact that he was surrounded by various sex toys, devices and other apparatus, then went back up to the Penthouse with Maze.
"You know you can't put off the inevitable forever." The Demon said whilst the pair stood in the elevator.
"And what inevitability would that be, Mazikeen?" Rayna sighed.
"That one of us is going to have to kill him." She replied. "You know you can't let him go. Not after all the death and destruction he's caused. He'll take his first step out of Lux and grab the first Human he sees."
"I'm not talking with you about this, Maze. I have more pressing matters to be worrying about at this present moment."
"Like what?" The Demon cocked her eyebrow.
"Never you mind what." The Heretic snapped just as the elevator pinged and the doors opened.
When Rayna walked out, Maze stayed put, slightly in shock at the Heretic's seemingly random outburst.
"Everything sorted?" Lucifer asked, sipping a fresh glass of Scotch.
"He's contained." Rayna replied blankly, walking straight past him and Chloe to the bedroom. "I'm going for a shower."

When Rayna was done with her wash, she vacated the bathroom to see Lucifer sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at his drink.
"Luci?" She frowned. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, darling. In fact, I was just wondering the same about you." He replied.
"I'm fine."
Lucifer raised an eyebrow in scepticism.
"I've never known you to raise your voice to Maze. There must be something troubling you." He countered.
Rayna dropped her towel and moved over to him, standing between his legs as she draped her arms over his shoulders.
"Perhaps I'm just hungry." She shrugged. "Does your blood taste as divine as the last time I had the pleasure?"
Lucifer dropped his glass on the floor, splashing the remaining liquid everywhere. His hands instantly found her hips, digging his fingertips into her flesh in desperate need.
"You're trying to distract me from finding out what's on your mind." He said. "And the worst bit is, it's working."
"I know it is." Rayna mumbled, dipping her neck to place a pressed, mind-boggling kiss to the Devil's lips. "I may not be able to compel you to forget about my troubles, but I can distract you from them. And myself, for that matter."
With that, Lucifer leaned back, pulling his love on top of him as he went and before long, he was a naked as she was.
Rayna's snowy hair fell to frame Lucifer's face like the work of art that it was as their kiss deepened; their hands roaming each other's bodies in perfect synchronicity.
The Devil was about to take things one step further, but as he did, he felt the pressure of G force and a gush of air hit one side of his face.
He found himself standing between Rayna's legs as she sat on the bar.
The Heretic separated herself from her lover, looking up at him through her lashes with lust-filled eyes, her Vampire speed clearly to blame for the sudden change in location.
She took his hand that rested on the bar next to her and, without dropping the eye contact, gently put his middle finger into her mouth, all the way to the knuckle.
"You naughty little thing." He practically growled with desire.
The Heretic smiled up at him with the pad of his finger lightly pinched between her teeth.
Lucifer removed his finger, dropping to his knees before her.
He instantly smelt her arousal, only finding more pleasure as it hit his nose.
"Delicious..." He mumbled, diving tongue first into her.
Rayna's hands instantly found a home in his hair, gripping tightly to the roots as her head tipped back in pleasure.
Lucifer's devilish and talented tongue worked their dark magic on the small bundle of nerves between his lover's legs, seeking to give her more than one climax that night in the hopes that it would ease whatever troubled her mind – it worked so well for him, after all.
Before long, Rayna found herself almost at the point of no return and she groaned at the feeling. It simply wasn't enough.
"Luci..." She breathed out. "I'm tired of your tongue."
Lucifer stopped what he was doing and smirked up at her.
"Very well, my love." He said, rising to his feet.
He didn't even waste a second before he taking his length in his hand from the base, plunging it straight into the woman he aimed so desperately to please.
And please it did.
Rayna's head swung back so hard that, had she been Human, it could have broken her neck. Her fingertips imbedded themselves into Lucifer's shoulders, a grip so strong that, even for the Devil's divine skin, tore into his flesh and easily drew blood.
He groaned in ecstasy, though not letting it phase his actions. He picked her up by her rear and carried her towards the couch.
Rayna, however, had other plans.
She began to move her hips up and down his shaft, putting him off balance.
Before either of them could realise what was happening, they fell together, straight onto the glass coffee table.
It shattered with spectacular beauty beneath them; Rayna's back taking the full force of the shards littering her fall path.
She went to cry out in pain, but the pleasure of Lucifer's gravity as he fell on top of her mixed with the force of his tip going deeper than she thought possible, only a sharp hiss and moan left her lips.
"Don't stop." She managed to say.
Lucifer needed no telling twice.
Immediately, he began to move in and out of the Heretic at a sharp and quick pace, not caring that, with both hands planted firmly on the glass-scattered floor, that it was cutting his palms quite deeply.
She always did make him vulnerable...
As his movements continued, Rayna took the opportunity to lift her head up to level with his shoulder and release her Vampiric form, biting into his flesh as slowly and sensually as she could.
Lucifer let out a prolonged exhale as her fangs penetrated his skin, his right hand moving from the floor to cup her head, silently egging her on.
Rayna knew Lucifer's limits. A Human could withstand far less blood loss than him. The last time they had done this, Lucifer's body had turned almost as white as the Heretic's hair after she had almost completely drained him of blood. That was the night he'd almost lost consciousness.
And it had excited him greatly.
"Have your fill, my darling." He whispered into the crook of her neck, never once ceasing his thrusts into her core.

With Rayna's back looking like something out of a slasher flick and the both of them already feeling the all too familiar knot in the pits of their stomachs, she unlatched her fangs from Lucifer's shoulder – something he was grateful for in the end, as he would've lost consciousness before he could finish.
"Luci..." The Heretic gasped out as her fangs retracted and the dark veins under her eyes faded.
"I know, my love."
The Devil quickened his movements, removing the hand he had on the back of her head to her clit, rubbing infinity symbols into the throbbing flesh.
Their mouths took each other in a heated and messy kiss. Lucifer found an odd pleasure in the fact that he could taste the metallic flavour of his blood in her mouth as his tongue roamed it.
The build-up for both of them came in hard and fast.
By the time the most intense orgasm either of them had ever had overwhelmed them, the pair were a writhing wreck of arousal and pain.

"It looks like I'm going to have to shower again." Rayna chuckled, tracing circle patterns on Lucifer's chest as they laid in their own destruction.
"I think we both are. And I did promise myself that you weren't going to go unsatisfied tonight." The Devil replied.
"That would already be the case, my Lord." The Vampire smirked.
"Yes, well... Better safe than sexually frustrated. And for the record, don't think I'm going to let go of the fact that something is very clearly bothering you."
