Chapter 26: The Clap of Tigerlily

The clap came from Tigerlily of all people. It was the same hand that had knocked Tinkerbell to the ground that was now picking her up. Peter Pan looked surprised but happy that Tigerlily was providing the saving force. Even the young boys were all shocked at Tigerlily's action. The dark skinned girl, after noticing the many stares in her direction, developed a coy smile.

"What can I say? I believe." Tigerlily stated as she continued to clap. Cubby cheered and started clapping as well. The twins clapped along as well, in perfect unison with each other. Ace was last to join in the applause but his clap was by far the loudest.

Tinkerbell didn't have time to think before her body was thrust into action. The thunderous claps provided her with an over abundance of energy. Her body was working on a combination of muscle memory and instinct. She was back in Peter Pan's face, this time hovering in front instead of bumping into his nose.

Her voice was the last thing to return with full force. That was a blessing in disguise because it gave Tinkerbell time to think of what she wanted to say. There was so much that had happened since the last time she saw Peter Pan. As much time as it had been for her, it had been much longer for him. Tinkerbell was relatively the same as when they first met while Peter Pan had grown. He hadn't grown up by any means, but he had definitely grown.

How long had he been gone? Who were these lost boys? And, who is Tigerlily? All of the questions spiraled and swirled in a mind that, until now, had never had to confront such thoughts. With these thoughts came the appropriate emotions. Fear, curiosity, and confusion all accosted Tinkerbell's facial expressions at once. As the swirling thought Rapids calmed to a dull stream, Tinkerbell realized the most important issue.

"Return this boy immediately!" Tinkerbell screeched as her voice found its footing. Her close proximity to Peter Pans face allowed him to just barely hear her words.

"Of course Tink. I will take him back to The Kingdom right now." Peter Pan replied calmly. Tinkerbell was surprised by the ease with which he agreed. He had been so obstinate against Tigerlily, and the opinions of the boys only seemed to enrage him. Why had he agreed so easily to her?

"I might need help. Will you come with me?" Peter Pan asked with a large toothy grin.
