4. Coffee And Cakes

[LYNN POV]

It was in the middle of the night when someone knocked on my door and woke me up. I groaned and glanced at my clock. It was 02:56 am.

Who the heck comes at times like this?

I groaned and opened the door to find Orlando and Ruth.

"Hey, Lynn," greeted Ruth with an uncomfortable smile, the one someone usually wear when they are about to ask for a big favor. "Busy? Can I ask you a favor?"

I stared at the red faced Orlando and cringed.

"Oh, come on," I groaned. "What's wrong with his trailer? Ruth, this isn't a daycare for drunk actors," I protested sleepily.

"I know. Do me a favor, just this time. Please. I've been carrying him back and forth from the taxi, to his trailer and back here in these stiletto. Do you not feel sorry for me? He lost his key to his trailer."

I looked intently at Orlando. He only smiled at me and slurred, "Hey, beautiful."

I smiled in amusement and helped Ruth carry Orlando to the couch. Soon after thanking me, she left in a hurry, saying that her taxi is waiting for her.

Orlando grinned at me. "Guess it's just the two of us tonight. So what are we gonna do?" he asked drunkenly.

"First thing off, monkey. It's morning already. Second, you're going straight to bed, okay?"

Orlando hummed and stretched his long legs above the arm rest of my couch and I facepalmed myself inwardly. This guy was gonna have an issue again with his back if he sleeps in the couch.

I tapped his face not so softly to wake him.

"Wake up! You can't sleep here. Let's get you on the bed, shall we?" I said while helping him up.

"Hmm... Okay, luv. Are we gonna share the bed? I promise to keep my hands to myself," he slurred.

I burst out laughing and dragged him. Damn, he was so cute when he's drunk. Reminded me so much of a kindergarten boy I used to tutor years ago.

I pushed him to my bed and took off his shoes, pulling the blanket over his chin.

"Sleep tight, monkey. Try not to drool so much on my pillow," I cooed at him and laughed when he smiled and stirred before passing out completely.

I shook my head and mumbled, "Party animal. Thank god tomorrow is Sunday."

I went to my couch and turned on my tv to see if there was anything interesting. I ended up watching CNN before the remote fell off of my hand and I fell asleep.

I woke up with Orlando grinning cheekily at me, his eyes red and watery from hangover.

"Good morning, luv," he greeted, poking my cheek.

"Morning, monkey," I mumbled, closing my eyes once again after swatting his fingers away from my face.

"Where's your coffee, luv?"

"I'm out. Gonna get some today at Starbucks or something," I replied lazily, still dazed from the sleep.

"Tea?"

"Out."

"Damn," I heard him mumbled. A long pause filled the gap before I heard him muttered, "This hangover is killing me."

I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "Serves you right."

Orlando smiled at me and pulled me up to sit.

"Come on, let's get some coffee. My treat."

"It's always your treat. You never let me pay," I mumbled as I yawned and stretched my arms a bit.

"I kinda eat all of your snacks every time I come, so that's only fair."

"Touche."

"I'm gonna head back to take a quick shower in my trailer and get you, okay luv?"

"Sure. Get out now," I said pushing him to the door. "You smell awful."

"Really? Most girls that I dated says I smell wonderful."

"Yeah? Look where they are now."

"Ouch."

I chucked. "Sorry. That was mean. Truth hurts. See ya shortly. Brush your teeth you monkey," I said as soon as he was out of my door.

Orlando laughed and pouted before I closed the door to his face.

Just when I was taking a shower, a thought occured to me. Didn't he lost his key? How was he going to get back to his trailer?

Fifteen minutes later, he was knocking on my door, fresh from the shower and wearing a cap and a sunglasses.

I wore my usual tee, jeans and sneakers, then out of the door to walk with Orlando out of the set.

"Ruth said you lost your key last night."

"Nah, I must be so drunk that I forgot that I actually kept the key under my doormat."

"Wow, all that trouble for nothing."

"Sorry, luv," he smiled guiltily.

"You know Ruth was carrying you around with her high heels. She might develop blisters today."

"I remember nothing of last night."

"Your five year old persona really came out when you're drunk. You called me mum last night and I recorded everything in my phone. I uploaded the video to Youtube," I lied.

"What?!" Orlando's jaw dropped in shock and he blushed. I laughed hard at that.

"Oh monkey. No you actually didn't and I didn't record anything, but you did remind me of a five year old."

"That's so mean, luv," he muttered. "Anyway, you were a teacher before. Do you miss teaching?"

"Sometimes yeah. But I like what I do now."

"How's it like to teach kids?"

We kept on chatting pleasantly along our walk until we reached Starbucks. We ordered and sat in the corner to avoid anyone recognizing Orlando.

"Wow, I love this Espresso Brownies."

Orlando forked my brownies and tasted it himself. He moaned. "Damn, you're not kidding. Wait here, I'll order some more."

Orlando left and went to the cashier. Somehow it became customary for us to order three or four type of cake and share them every time we both escaped the set a little for coffee.

Just when I was lost in my thought and picking heartily at my brownies, I heard an excited squeal.

"Oh my gosh! It's Orlando Bloom! Oh my gosh!"

Soon, Orlando walked briskly to me and I looked up at him in alarm.

"Let's get out of here, luv," he said taking my hand.

"My coffee and brownies!" I protested, my fork still in my hand.

"Luv, we are busted! We need to get out before they pile up!"

Sure enough, now a small crowd was chasing us–or Orlando as we ran. I was out of breath and cursed inwardly as we hailed a taxi and sped off to nowhere in particular.

"Damn, monkey. I thought that sunglasses are good enough," I muttered between pants of breath.

"Some people just very observant."

"Do me a favor, next time we go for coffee, wear a freaking mask or something. Heck, a hazmat suit if you have to."

Orlando smirked. "That's a pretty good idea."

We stopped at a drug store somewhere further and bought a mask for Orlando before stopping on a cafe.

After we order, we sat once again in a corner with Orlando facing the wall.

We chatted pleasantly this time without any disturbance for almost two hours. I laughed a lot because of Orlando's animated way of telling stories of his friends, family and childhood.

"...Yeah and we're going to have a week off this month due to some permit problem," I said before taking a slice of our shared sandwich.

"The folks from Production Department will be mad," he commented. "So what's your plan, luv?"

I smiled and excitedly told him. "If the rumors about the permit is true, I'm gonna book a ticket straight to Houston and surprise Joel. I kinda miss him."

Orlando nodded but made no comment, so I continued.

"What about you?"

"Well I don't know yet. Probably will take some tour around this city. Too bad I can't keep you here, luv. I will miss you," he pouted.

"Of course you will miss me, monkey," I replied with a smile, taking a sip on my coffee.

I stopped in my track as I saw the couple behind Orlando made out rather wildly, making soft noises here in the light of the day. Wow.

Apparently Orlando heard it too and turn his head to glance at the couple and stifled a laugh.

"I know right," I said under my breath and giggled. "They're hungry, but another kind of hunger."

"You want to make out with me, luv?" he asked in a low voice and gave me an attractive lopsided smile.

Damn. It's the smile that he often used on pictures and photo sessions. I imagined many girls would kill for him to say those words to them, too bad they're wasted on me.

"You're nuts, monkey."

"It's worth a shot."

"Uh huh. Why don't you go kiss your girlfriend," I said with a grin and shook my head.

"Which is non-existent, by the way," he informed.

"What happened to your last girlfriend? The model... What's her name?" I blurted before I could stop myself.

Orlando tensed for a moment before answering flatly, "Miranda."

I cringed upon seeing the change of his demeanor. "Sorry, Orlando. I wasn't thinking before asking such a personal question," I said apologetically. "Just forget my question."

"No, no, that's alright, luv. It's over anyway," he answered with a forced smile. Didn't seem very much 'over' to me. "She uh... she was busy, I was busy, and she just decided not to try anymore."

Miranda Kerr. I remembered her from a random magazine I read about six months ago.

Ah, the Victoria Secret model. Boy does have an eye for beautiful ladies.

Just a week after she and Orlando broke up, she was spotted going on a date with another actor I couldn't remember.

"I'm sorry to hear that Orlando," I said squeezing his hand on the table briefly.

"Aw, it's okay, luv."

"There are many fish on the sea, monkey. So many girls out there in the world. All you have to do is pick," I said animatedly to which Orlando laughed.

"I mean, seriously, women population in the world is like, more than men. Though if you prefer models, that kinda narrow your choices down a little," I continued with a fake seriousness.

"Why do you assume I only liked models?" questioned Orlando, frowning.

"Because I heard that your exes were mostly models, so," I replied, shrugging.

Orlando sighed. "Seriously, those are just coincidence, and some of the relationship were just blown out of proportion by the media."

"Yeah, I thought I read something about you impregnated someone."

Orlando's eyes widened and I grinned cheekily. "Okay, I made that up, alright."

"If you tell that to Ruth she would probably cut my reproductive organs to pieces."

"One way to get circumcised," I muttered, causing him to choke on his coffee and spilled coffee on his T-shirt. I chuckled and threw him some tissue.

The manager of the cafe came to the couple behind Orlando and politely askex them to stop making out because of some customers complains. The couple was annoyed and left the cafe.

The couple only moved to sit on the bench in front of the cafe– right by our window and continued their make out session. Both me and Orlando had our hands covered over our mouths as we suppressed our laughter at the scene.

Little did I know that the moment may be the last time for quite some time for me before I could feel happy and laugh like that again.
