21. Unexpected Surprise

The sunlight that seeped through the blinds greeted me as I opened my eyes. I blinked several times to let my eyes adjust to the light and sighed in contentment. I stayed still on the queen sized bed, gathering my soul back from the dreamland.

A ghost of smile crept to my face as I recalled the blast I and Orlando had last night. We had met Martin and Ben on a bar where the three men decided to have a drinking game.

Knowing what might happen, I stayed sober and in the end of the night I was the one who babysit the three drunk kids. I managed to call Martin's wife through his cell, who came soon after to pick her husband and thanked me furiously. But since Ben didn't have a girlfriend or wife to call and I didn't know where he lived, I took the liberty of taking drunk Ben and Orlando to Orlando's house.

I had made them sleep on the same bed last night and the thought woke me up completely. I had to take their picture and blackmail Orlando with it...

I scrambled out of bed and out of my door. I proceeded to Orlando's room and tiptoed my way in.

Instictively I clasped my hand to my mouth to prevent myself from bursting out with laughter.

Both Orlando and Ben were snoring as if they were performing in a concert. Their limbs tangled within the bedsheet with Ben facing upwards, arms and legs stretched. Orlando was facing down and was cuddling Ben's right foot, holding onto it as if it was his lifeline.

Holding my giggles, I took out my phone and snapped a couple pictures of them from two different angles.

I crouched and leaned in to watch Orlando's sleeping face. He looked so peaceful and innocent. His thick eyelashes rimming his closed lids, his mouth were open ever so slightly as he snored. His unruly dark curls fell on his forehead, reminded me of a little kid.

I wonder how he looked like when he was a kid.

A smile pulled at my lips at the thought and I poked his cheek with a finger.

"Wakey wakey, monkey..." I cooed softly like one would to a little kid as my finger poked him. "Come out, come out and play..."

Orlando stopped snoring and hummed sleepily before one of his eyes opened and a small smile crept on his sleepy face. Then he closed it again and resumed snoring.

I rolled my eyes and laughed lightly at him. I guessed I'd let him sleep some more before he and Ben woke with a monster hangover. I pecked his cheek soundly before leaving the two men behind.

I made some coffee and took a shower before checking my emails and replying to all messages. Time flew so fast that by the time Orlando and Ben dragged themselves out of the room to join me, it was already 12.37pm.

Orlando yawned and walked towards me. His shirt from last night crumpled in many places and his hair was tousled. His eyes slightly red and watery, but despite looking like a zombie, he still looked awesome.

My goodness. How was that possible? I wish I looked that hot everytime I woke up...

"Morning, luv," greeted Orlando sleepily as he hugged me. "Hm, you smell so good...--Shit!"

I jumped in surprise and pulled away to look at his face. "What?"

Orlando peered to the wall behind me and groaned. "Damn, I'm sorry, Lynn. We missed the tour an hour ago! Why didn't you wake me?"

"Because you two were busy having an affair and smelling each other's feet," I teased with a smirk.

Orlando gave me an exaggerated stink eye while Ben huffed.

"Correction, dear Lynn," said Ben with a thick British accent, "It was Orlando that was smelling my feet. I didn't smell his. It was rather unsettling waking up with your boyfriend hugging my feet-- Thanks for the coffee, by the way," he said politely with a nod as he waved the steaming cup in front of him.

I nodded and laughed lightly. Orlando smiled at me mischievously.

"I'm sure your feet smells better than his, luv," Orlando chirped, ignoring Ben's remark earlier and gave me a chaste kiss.

"I didn't know you have a kink for foot," muttered Ben.

Orlando scowled at Ben for that, drawing a chuckle from him.

"Think about this, Orlando. You just shared a bed with Mr. Cumberbatch and hugged his feet all night long. It is more than fangirls and boys all over the world could dream of. Consider yourself lucky," I said with a fake seriousness.

I smirked when Orlando scrunched his nose in disgust.

"Well, based on my unparalled deduction skill," Ben commented, his expression turned into his Sherlock-deductive-face before sipping his coffee from his cup. "I assume you are a fan and at some point in your life you dreamed of sharing a bed with me and smell my feet?"

"What???"

"What?" exclaimed Orlando and me in unison.

Orlando was looking at me demandingly while Ben smirked and stared at me intently.

"Yes and no," I said with exaggeration at the 'no', putting much stress on the 'o'.

"Lynn," Orlando said with a warning tone, clearly telling me that he didn't find the conversation funny.

Was that jealousy I detected?

"Let me get this straight, Sherlock. Your deduction skill is overrated. Yes, I watched Sherlock Holmes and I am your fan but, no, I never think about sharing a bed with you and I definitely not thinking about smelling your feet! Or in that case-- anyone's feet!"

"You heard her, she's mine!" claimed Orlando as he put his arm around my shoulder possessively, making me laugh.

Ben shrugged and said, "Too bad. If you're a fan why haven't you ask for my autograph yet?"

"I guess I'm not that much of a fan. Sorry," I said with an apologetic smile.

"You hurt me," Ben replied with a broad smile.

"Haha! Burn!-- Ow," groaned Orlando, clutching his head.

"I know right. This hangover is also killing my head," added Ben to Orlando.

I smiled. "You guys know what? I need to buy some necessities in the store nearby. I'll be back and bring you guys something for your sleepyheads also," I said, getting up from my chair.

Orlando got to my side as I walked to the door and held my elbow gently.

"I'll accompany you," offered Orlando.

I was about to say yes but the redness in his eyes and the tension on his forehead showed me that he seemed to be in a quite horrible headache. So I shook my head and refused.

"I know my way around. Don't worry about me, monkey, I'll be quick," I said to his ear. "Just drink a lot of water and eat something. And take a shower, you stink," I scolded him, flicking his nose.

Orlando laughed and pecked my nose. He stared at me softly before some kind of doubt passed his expression.

"Got your cell with you?" he asked and I nodded.

"Call me if there's anything happened in-"

"Orlando," I cut him with a hand in front of his face. "The store is just a block away and I assure you that I'm not gonna slip my foot, hit my head on the pavement and die, okay?" I said giggling.

On the background Ben snorted and chuckled, apparently listening to our conversation. Orlando ignored him and looked at me with disapproval.

"Oh shit, luv. You better not," he cursed softly before his lips grazed mine in a deep and affectionate kiss.

He wrapped his arms on my shoulders and closed the space between us, sending butterfly fluttered in my stomach.

"Ugh, get a room you two," chirped Ben from where he sat with humor latched in his voice.

I chuckled to Orlando's mouth and he pulled away, smirking boyishly at me.

"See you in a few," I told Orlando with a blush then kissed his cheek before leaving through the door.

Just as I arrived at the store I totally not regret going by myself because I just remembered that I needed some girl stuff due to my red-sun-rises-blood-has-been-spilled-tonight moment besides some other necessities and some Alka Seltzer.

I was surprised to see Ben outside the door as I came back. He waved and smiled at me.

"Hello again, Lynn. You're back very quickly," he said cheerfully.

"Yeah, the store is just a block away. And I have something for your hangover."

"That is so kind of you. May I see it? Oh, can I help you with your grocery?" asked Ben, taking my grocery bag without even waiting for my answer.

"It's effervescent, you need water with it-- why are you blocking my way?" I asked with suspicion.

Ben was smiling down at me all the way while giving me a questioning look. However he was blocking me from entering the door as we speak to each other. I looked around and noticed that there was a subtle silver car that parked near the house that wasn't there before I left the house.

"Do we have a guest?"

Ben's intelligent eyes twinkled and his smile got wider despite the profound hangover.

"You're not just a pretty face, are you?"

I ignored him and stared up into his green eyes, looking for answer. For some reason he tried to stall the time and prevent me from meeting whoever was in the house with Orlando. I searched Ben's face for any answer, but his smile was ever steady and unwavering. However his eyes looked as if he was testing me and anticipating my next reaction.

I snorted and gave him a lopsided smile, though inside I felt the inside of my stomach did an uncomfortable salto.

"It's Miranda, isn't it?"

His green orbs were boring into mine, searching for something-- maybe he waited to see if I was going to cry and make a mad dash into the house and scream murder to Orlando and Miranda-- which I won't.

To be honest now he was giving me one of his unsettling and intimidating stare which I never saw before except on screen. Seeing it in real life only magnified the intensity, giving me this feeling as if by just looking at me he would know every secret I hid in my mind.

Now I could see why he made a perfect Sherlock Holmes.

Nevertheless, I refused to look away and stubbornly stared back at him. Soon after he smiled benevolently and his eyes softened as he spoke.

"Yes, Lynn. She came out of the blue after almost a year and startled both me and Orlando. I was out to give them some privacy to talk. You alright?"

"I gotta admit that it feels weird, but I'm gonna be okay," I said nonchalantly with a smile, but inside I felt lost and I didn't know what to do while Orlando's supermodel ex-girlfriend was in the house with Orlando.

I felt miserable, countless of questions and what ifs came flooding into my mind, but I concealed it well behind a small smile.

"Do you fancy a cup of tea with me?" asked Ben with a dazzling smile that I knew some girls would kill for.

Right then I knew what he was doing. He was trying to steer me clear from Miranda out of good intention, and possibly to distract me from the awkwardness.

I smiled widely and nodded, "I'd love to."

"I know just a perfect place. You'll find it very charming."
