17. Our Little Game

[ORLANDO POV]

"They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!! They're taking the hobbits to Isengard! They're taking, they're taking, they're taking...

"The hobbits, the hobbits, the hobbits...

"To Isengard! To Isengard!" I sang on top of my lungs as I made faces to the phone camera, stifling my own laughter.

Ron who recorded it and several others who saw me were chuckling in amusement at my exaggeration when mimicking my own acting on the Lord Of The Rings clip that was edited with a funny background song on it.

Ron thought that it was amusing and told me that he was going to upload it to youtube. I didn't mind.

Lynn passed me and shook her head, smirking at my random silliness on set before she disappeared behind the door while talking to someone through her walkie talkie. I whistled and catcalled her, but she ignored me.

Tsk, so busy.

I smiled to myself when I saw her retreating form. I still couldn't comprehend how she managed to get back working about three days after the accident and managed to convince Peter and CJ into letting her back to work so soon and her dad back home to the States.

Speaking of her dad, never in my life I felt so much dread upon meeting someone for the first time. That day in the hospital when he caught us together I thought he was gonna lunged at me or at his suitcase where he hid a gun then shoot me for snuggling with her daughter on her bed.

Thankfully, none of it happened, but turned out he really had a rifle back home that had served him well. It put down couple of grizzly bear on his hunting trips.

Bloody hell. The thought was not helping.

My acting skills greatly aided me to conceal the fact that I wanted to run out of the room and escaped Mr. Andrews' cruel, warning stare that accompanied with his own sadistic smile.

I remember shooting CJ a nervous smile before he supported me and spoke highly of me in front of Mr. Andrews. That was a favor I could never repay. However my gratefulness were quickly dissipated when CJ suggested Mr. Andres to google me on the internet.

Alright, I might have exaggerated the description of Lynn's dad, but my point is he was intimidating. He was this kind of protective type of dad with a built like Arnold Schwarzenegger, though I knew behind all that he was a very caring person, especially to his own daughter.

Too caring, till the point that Lynn whimpered slightly out of embarrassment at his dad treatment and nicknames such as : my little girl, my little princess, or my little chipmunk.

I would've howled with laughter at her adorable, furious blushing if we were under different circumstances.

To my surprise, at the end of the day he invited me and CJ to his home if we ever visit Oregon. The invitation warmed my heart, knowing that he didn't entirely despise me.

I went looking for Lynn at lunchbreak that day. I found her sitting down on a chair in the office. I grinned and strolled down the area, the tip of my bow poked someone as I passed and the girl squealed in pain.

I facepalmed myself inwardly for forgetting to return the props before I left the set and apologized profusely to the office girl who looked stunned that I was the one who poked her on the face with my bow. She blushed and excused herself.

I sighed before turning to Lynn's direction, only to find that she wasn't on her chair anymore.

"You know you should not carry that thing around," said Lynn all of a sudden behind my back.

I spun to face her and found her looking up at me with an amused grin on her face.

"You almost poked her in the eye with that bow. Oh, and by the way, she's a big fan. Did she ask for your autograph?" she told me teasingly.

"No, luv," I replied with a smirk.

"Tsk. She's really shy."

The smile on my face vanished. Now that I had a good look on her, I just realized that she looked a little pale despite the smile that she flashed me. Unbiddened to me, the picture of her laying cold and limp on the deck came to my mind and horrified me.

Lynn saw the change of my facial expressions and frowned slightly in question.

"Is there something on my face?" she asked, rubbing the skin on her face innocently.

I held both of her arms gently, leading her to sit on a nearby chair that I pulled.

"Sit down, Lynn."

"I hate it when you say my name all of a sudden. Do you have a bad news for me?"

"What? No!" She chuckled but I frowned still, finding no amusement at her ignorance. "You look pale. I don't think you should be back at work so soon today. You should take the rest of the day off."

Lynn lifted her brows and sipped her coffee on the styrofoam cup she held. Then she smiled sweetly at me.

"Aww, monkey. You're worried about me? That's sweet."

"I'm serious, Lynn. I don't want to see you pass out. Have you had any lunch?"

"Not yet-- you know what, you look quite attractive when you frown all in your Legolas costume and make up," she teased and winked.

I couldn't help but smiled at her remarks.

"I knew you always have the hots for me since the first time you saw me in this costume, luv. I can see it in your eyes."

"Shut up, monkey."

I smirked smugly at her before turning into my character and coughed, offering my hand at her.

"It would be an honor to be able to escort you, my fair lady, to the dining hall. Of course, if the lady don't mind," I offered using my elf innocent expression, my eyes fixed on her hopefully.

Lynn giggled in amusement before taking my hand and stood up. I put her hand on the crook of my arms and she laughed as we started our walk to the cafetaria on set. I smiled as I watch her laugh at me. Her eyes twinkled, seeming full of life despite her pale face and lips.

"I still think that my lady should heed my advice to rest for the day and retreat to your chamber," I said in Legolas voice, but making it clear in my face that I meant what I said.

"I've left Middle-Earth for about three days and evil already start to spread terrors on the land," she said seriously, getting in our little games, drawing a smile from me. "...Delayed shipments, ruined schedules, deadlines being missed. They are all evil at work. Middle Earth needs me, Legolas."

I stopped and smiled at her, adoring her. This was one of the reasons why I loved her; she was so serious with her work, but she also always serious with our little games. I brushed a strand of her dark hair that fell on her face and tucked it behind her ear.

"No one can ever wipe evil completely off the earth. One particular evil that I wish to never thrive is the one that may grasp you in its hands should you not take care of yourself properly. I wish that no sickness fell upon you. You really should rest, my lady. The world can wait," I persisted, my eyes boring into hers.

"You're very kind, but I find your worries for me are unreasonable. One does not simply walk away from work. Trust me, Legolas. I will be fine," she replied stubbornly.

I almost burst out laughing when she mimicked Sean Bean's acting on The Fellowship Of The Ring, but I bit the insides of my cheek to stifle it.

"I wish not to see you lay on the bed in a healing tent ever again," I said more sternly but still in a gentle way. "The last time you fell ill..."

I faltered upon seeing the highly amused look on her face. Clearly my message was not well delivered through our little play, so I chose to break my character and returned to my normal voice when continuing.

"...I thought you're dead and gone for good, Lynn. It was depressing to watch," I mumbled, rolling my eyes.

Lynn's eyes softened and the amusement left her face. She somehow looked guilty and sympathetic over me as she brushed my arm lightly.

"Well, I'd rather cease talking about it, for the image of you laid unconscious still haunt my memory," I scolded her with my Legolas voice.

"Look, I might look like I'm not well, but really I feel fine, Orlando. And I really can't leave work today, there are urgent things that must be done," she stated, giving me a sorry look.

However, the determination in her eyes gave away that she won't listen to me so I sighed loudly in surrender.

"Why do you have to be so stubborn, luv?" I asked in annoyance.

Lynn shrugged and smiled triumphantly upon seeing that I gave up.

"Just don't tire yourself out, alright? Take it easy today," I scolded her.

"Okay, monkey," she answered, flicking my nose. Then she gave me a goofy grin.

I shook my head in amusement before clearing my throat and went back to my character.

"Now that you refused my advice, you have to do one-- actually two things to ease my wounded heart."

Lynn smirked. "What are they?"

"One, you have to go on a date with me. I've already book a place in one of a recommended restaurant in the city. For Saturday night. Wear something sexy for me," I flashed her my best smile and winked, earning a chuckle from her.

"Really? I'll wear a bikini," she answered, nodding.

"Hmm, that's an idea," I commented in a husky voice.

"You dirty elf," she grumbled. "What's the second petition?"

"Have you ever kissed an elf before?" I asked, smirking.

"No," she answered, batting her eyelashes at me seductively. Wow. "...but I'd like to try."

Her low voice sent a shiver down my spine. I smiled and leaned down, capturing her soft lips in mine while my hands rested on her waist. Her lips tasted so good and her flowery scent hit my nostrils. It was intoxicating. Too bad she pulled away so soon.

"You smell like an angel's breath, luv."

"You smell like my nana's make up, luv," she replied.

I pouted and grumbled. "I will have my makeup artist change the whole make up set."

She laughed in amusement. "Okay, okay. You do smell like your Legolas makeup, but not like my nana. You smell like you. Don't worry, I like it."

I grinned cheekily and she kissed my cheek before I dragged us to the cafetaria.
