[Olivia POV]

I wake up in a white room full of open space, as I am wondering where I am, I hear Kyle's voice call out to me.

"Welcome Olivia, we are deep inside your mind. So, you want to know what we are?" Kyle asks me.

"Yes, but why are we inside my mind?" I ask with confusion.

"Well, we are inside your mind, because I want you to see the truth... The truth behind the society of "Shifters'." Says Kyle.

"Shifters?" I say as a question.

"That's what we are?" I ask.

Kyle then sits down in a chair and he obliges me to do so as well.

"Yes, we are people called Shifters, people who can control time." Says Kyle.

"Many years ago, Nazi's were conducting experiments on certain people who were considered, 'The Devil's Children'. They believed that they could extract the power of these individuals, for their own personal reasons. The last experiment that they conducted, resulted in multiple casualties and injuries." Explains Kyle.

"So, what happened to the test subject?" I ask.

"Well, the subject managed to escape. It is said that he escaped into the mountains, that he learned how to control his powers and abilities. Then suddenly, he turned back time and he saved all of the people who were experimented on. He would start a society afterwards. That society, is the race of Shifters." Says Kyle.

"No one knows about us, because our existence was erased from history. It was the purpose of the first Shifter to erase our history, so that no more experiments could take place." Says Kyle.

"But what does this have to do with me?" I ask.

"Well, there's the question that I was waiting to hear." Says Kyle.

"Why don't we start at your beginning?"

Kyle then places his hand on my face and we transport to an earlier memory of mine.

"Do you remember this?" Kyle asks me.

"Yes, this was the day I turned two years old, why?" I ask.

"Look at the old man, that is your grandfather I presume?" Kyle asks.

"Yeah." I reply.

"I'm guessing he loved you very much." Says Kyle.

"Yes, but unfortunately, he passed away when I was ten." I say to him.

"What did he tell you about your parents?" Kyle asks me.

"I never had the chance to ask him." I reply.

"Your grandfather, was responsible for the survival of our race." I then have a shocked look on my face.

"So... He was the first Shifter?" I ask Kyle.

"Yes. Your parents were also Shifters, that why they risked so much to keep you safe." Kyle says to me.

"So, my parents died, to protect me?" I ask Kyle.

"Yes, they were killed by an organization called 'Paradox'. They are an organization of time bandits, run by a man named Owen Deckard."

I then ask Kyle. "Why would he want to kill me?"

Kyle then replies by saying, "That's what we are going to find out."

He then snaps his fingers and everything fades to black.

5 hours later, I awake in a secure room in the warehouse and Corona walks in.

"How are you feeling?" She asks me.

"Confused, shocked above all else." I reply.

"Don't worry, It'll sink in." Corona says softly.

"I don't know if your boss told you, but it turns out..."

Corona then says to me, "It's all right, Kyle filled me in on everything."

I then reply, "Right, I bet you are confused as I am."

Corona then says, "Actually, I understand completely."

I then sit up and I think to myself "This is all so new to me..."

Corona then says to me, "Yeah, it would be to anyone."

I then have a look of exasperation on my face.

"What? I can hear your thoughts." She says.

"Yeah, I'm still getting used to that, I'm sorry." I say to Corona.

"Don't apologize, just give it some time." Says Corona.

"Get some rest, you're gonna need it." She says.

I then ask, "For what?"

Corona then turns around and she replies, "Your Training."

Morning came into the horizon. I wake up and I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in." I say.

The door opens and Kyle enters, with a takeout tray.

"I brought you breakfast. Pancakes, with strawberry syrup and an Bacon, Ham, Sausage and cheese omelet. It's your favorite right?" Asks Kyle.

"Y... Yes, how did you know that?" I ask.

"I told you Olivia, I know everything about you." Says Kyle.

I then take the takeout tray and I begin to eat.

"When you finish, I will be outside, so you can begin your training." Says Kyle.

30 minutes later, I walk outside and Kyle takes me to a training area.

"I would like to introduce you to my team. You already know Corona and Arthur." Says Kyle.

Kyle then goes near an African American man, who is behind a computer.

"This is Joshua Taylor, our tech expert." Says Kyle.

"What's happening little lady? Glad that you will be hanging out with us." Says Joshua.

Kyle then goes over to a Caucasian woman, who is seen training with a sword in her hand.

"Right here, is my friend Katie Sage. She is a former assassin who knows her way around a gun and a blade." Says Kyle.

"Pleased to meet you." Says Kaite.

"These guys and I, will be assisting you in your training." Says Kyle.

Kyle then takes me to a a chair, that is sitting in the middle of the training grounds.

"What is that?" I ask.

"That Olivia, is a VR training chair, it will help you realize your true potential. Says Kyle.

"So, what happens now?" I ask.

"Take a seat." Says Kyle.

I then oblige and Kyle gets a mysterious headband and he places it on my head.

"This will feel, a little strange." Says Kyle.

Kyle then presses a button on the chair and I suddenly feel a ringing sensation in my head, before passing out.

Moments later, I wake up in a place that resembles a dojo.

"What the hell is this?" I say to myself.

"This is a training program. It will help you hone your skills and master your Shifter abilities." Says Kyle.

"So, this is my training session?" I ask.

"Yes... And you will be having a sparring match, against me." Says Corona.

"Now I must warn you, Corona is a very dangerous and skilled fighter." Says Kyle.

"Don't worry Kyle, I will go easy on her." Says Corona.

Corona then urges me to attack her, I then begin to attack while Corona defends and counters every blow that I try to land. I managed to get a lucky shot on Corona, by punching her in the face.

"Good... Great skill, exceptional focus, but you are unsure of yourself." Says Corona.

We then continue sparring. Corona then begins to become more of a challenge, as she repels my attacks. I then try to hit Corona, but she teleports behind me and kicks me into a wall.

"How did I defeat you?" Corona asks me.

"You're too fast, too strong..." I say.

"Overview Olivia, what does my strength or my speed have to do with anything?" Asks Corona.

"Nothing?" I reply with a question.

"Less than nothing." Says Corona.

"It's all about believing in your own abilities, having faith in yourself." Says Corona.

"Again..." Corona says.

"Very well." I reply.

We then fight again, but only this time, Corona notices that my speed surpassed hers. I try to hit her, but she again teleports. I then use my slow down power, to see where Corona will strike next. She tries to come in from behind me yet again, but I block her punch and I slam her down to the mat. The force of the slam creates a shockwave that blows out the entire room.

"Yield?" I ask her while I extend my hand to her.

"I yield." Says Corona.

"Good job, but you have much more to learn." Says Corona.

"She's right, time for your next session. Oh and by the way, that slam was crazy! Nice finish!" Says Kyle.

"So how does it feel, to get your ass kicked by a rookie?" Arthur asks Corona sarcastically.

"Shut up..." Replies Corona.

"Good work, you're improving." Says Kyle.

"So, what next?" I ask.

"Get dressed, let's go get some air." Says Kyle.

We then go out to the rooftop of the building, I am not sure why he is taking me here, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Asks Kyle.

"Yeah. It's been a long time, since I have seen a sunset like this." Says Olivia.

"Well Olivia, have you ever wondered what it would be like, if today was the last sunset you will ever see?" Kyle asks me.

"Sometimes... but what does that have to do with my training?" I ask.

"When a Shifter, or in this case, The Prime Shifter, is near death, his or her abilities will save that person from death's grip." Says Kyle.

Kyle then pushes me off the ledge of the building and I begin to fall at rapid speeds.

"Remember, your belief in your abilities and your destiny, will save you from death."
