Ari is sad. Grey had just stopped and didn't even touch her anymore. She sadly starts walking away. He didn't believe her. She's too tired to fight it, and what's the use of fighting when you won't be around to enjoy it if you win.

Grey comes up behind her silently. He hadn't intended on being so silent that she doesn't hear him, but it's second nature now, he'd been fighting the Aelven for so long that the silent movement is ingrained. He grabs her which startles her into a scream.

She stops immediately when she is turned around and she sees who it is. "Grey you scared me. Is something wrong?"

"Yes, something is wrong. Something is very wrong." Grey is angry. He finally found someone that knows him, truly knows him and doesn't care what he's like, just accepts him for who he is and he's going to lose her soon.

Ari feels his anger and it frightens her. Grey has her shoulder in his grip. It's tight but not punishing. But it makes it so she can't leave. That sets off her PTSD and sends her into a full blown panic attack. Memories of rapes flash through her mind she feels herself fall down as she struggles to breathe.

Grey catches her and makes a mattress appear. He sets Ari down and waits by her side. He hadn't meant to scare her like that. Slowly Ari comes out of the memories and find herself covered in sweat.

"Gads I stink. Grey I'm surprised the skunk smell didn't scare you off," Ari jokes weakly. The memories are still fresh in her mind.

"It's my fault Ari. I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that," Grey says miserably.

Ari gives a small chuckle. "Fat lot of good announcing yourself would have done. It wasn't the scare that set things off, it was the holding me so I couldn't leave that set it off. It hasn't been a problem because you haven't really done it until now. Holding me firmly, you're a damn strong man Grey. I couldn't move out of your grip. I was trapped. I don't do well with trapped. I used to fight, but that was beat out of me. Now it sends me spinning down the rabbit hole of memories.

"So it was my fault just not for the reason I thought. I am sorry Ari. I won't do it again," Grey promises.

Ari is still shaking in the aftermath of the panic attack. But the shaking is subsiding. "Don't make me promises that you don't know you can keep. Never make me those kind of promises. Soon my time will be done. Your life will go on."

"I don't want to think about the future right now Ari," Grey says almost petulantly.

Ari can't help it and she laughs. "You sound just like a two year old that was told he can't have his favorite toy." She turns on her side and faces Grey. "Life is what it is Grey and nothing can change that. Your life will go on and mine ends shortly. Find love Grey. You are so full of anger. Let that go, peace can't dwell in an angry heart. Somewhere you will find a woman good enough for you."

"I have and I'll be killing her in the next day or so," Grey says angry. He gets up and walks away. "I'm not good enough for you Ari. You've been through hell and beyond. And still you are so forgiving.

"I'm an angry man. Full of bitterness and covered with blood. Mostly the blood of those that allowed you to be harmed." Grey likes that. Perhaps he couldn't get revenge on all of them but he has gotten some of those bastards.

"Yes, you are angry and full of bitterness. It will destroy you Grey. Don't let it do that. The blood you have comes from those that wouldn't leave you alone. The raids, the killings, rapes and kidnappings. That all comes from the Aelven. Are you going to let them win now? The man that got them to retreat to here? Don't let them win now Grey. Find someone that can help you find love and peace in your life." Ari holds up her hand.

"And don't say you have. Soon I won't be here and there is nothing that can be done about that. Find someone else. Marry, have children and teach them how to forgive and not how to hate. Hating is easy but very energy consuming. Loving is harder but makes for more energy." Ari makes her lights into a necklace around Grey's neck.

"Remove this when you are no longer in need of it," Ari says. She moves away from Grey and has water come over her. She soaps up and has water rinse her off. She dries off with a towel that wasn't there before.

"There that's better, no more stink." She gets out before Grey grabs her up with a shriek. He carries her back to the mattress and there is no more talking.
