Inez Reyes has been at Camp Half-Blood since most of the campers can remember. Inez arrived at Camp six months after Annabeth Chase, Luke Castellan and Thalia Grace. Inez came with her older sibling, Catalina, when their mortal father Óscar Reyes was deported back to Mexico by the state. Inez has become a part of Camp life ever since. All the older campers are used to the Reyes siblings' loud, blunt manner and the way they shout at one another in Spanish when they are angry.

Catalina 'Cat' Reyes is the older sibling of Inez, and often feels like their sister's keeper as Inez seems to be unable to keep herself out of trouble especially when she's younger. Cat often feels underappreciated by the other members of Camp, but not by Luke Castellan who has always been there for them.

Annabeth Chase, the smartest girl in camp, Athena's daughter, the camp favourite. Annabeth arrived at Camp with Luke, Thalia and Grover Underwood when she was eight years old, Annabeth had been a part of camp life ever since.  Annabeth had always had a slight rivalry with Inez but in an almost joking way, in reality, they were always best friends.

Lucia 'Luce' Grant is one of Camp Half-Blood's strongest archers, a daughter of Apollo unmatched in skill and attitude. Most older campers know Luce isn't as scary as she makes out but they know not to mess with her or her girlfriend, Clarisse La Rue or they risk losing a limb.

But then one summer, the summer both Annabeth and Inez are twelve, everything changed when a boy called Percy Jackson arrived at Camp. The arrival of a single boy changes the world of Camp as the first quest since Luke Castellan's failed one is issued, and it's to find Zeus' missing lightning bolt. So Inez, Annabeth, Percy, Grover Underwood and Lexi Harlow trek across America, but little did they all know that the world was about to change.
