I am meant for a softer life,
A life of quiet, a life of ease,
A cottage on a little hill,
Or one caught in an ocean breeze.

I am meant to have a garden,
To grow fruits and herbs and flowers too,
To bake bread in the dying evening light,
And to sing softly under a sky so blue.

I am meant to go on nature walks,
To watch the grass sway in a soft breeze,
To hear the burble of a brook,
And beneath my feet the soft crunch of leaves.

I am meant to have quiet evenings,
To sit and read under a twilight sky,
To listen to the music of crickets and frogs,
And watch the glittering stars fill up the sky.

I am meant for easy mornings,
To drink coffee in the first light of day,
To watch the world wake around me,
And to know that everything is okay.

One day I'll have a softer life,
A life of quiet, a life of ease,
I will bask in the early morning light,
And dance to the song of the wind in the trees.
