Chapter 74

After her talk with Ryan, Mia strolled around the house. Some minutes later, she decided to go to her room. Mia passed by Kenny's room and saw that it was slightly opened, she walked into the room.

Kenny was playing with her huge doll house with her nanny watching her when Mia entered.

"Knock knock." Mia said with a smile. "Hey sweetie, what are you doing?" Mia asked her.

"Where's daddy?" Kenny innocently asked, ignoring that Mia asked a question.

"Daddy's busy." Mia looked at the nanny. "Um, Helen, you can go. I'll watch her." Mia said to the nanny.

"Okay ma'am." The nanny nodded before taking her leave, shutting the door behind her.

"I see what you're doing, you're having a tea party with your miniature dolls." Mia smiled. "Is mommy invited?" Mia asked her.

Kenny nodded, not bothering to look at Mia.

Mia sat down beside Kenny who was kneeling while trying to get all her dolls out of the house. "What can I do to help?" She asked enthusiastically.

    Kenny only shook her head.

"No really, I wanna help. I could serve the tea if you want." Mia smiled at her.

Kenny finally looked at Mia, staring with her bold blue eyes. "Okay." She finally agreed.

Mia's smile widened... "So, what are your dolls' names?"

Kenny looked at Mia again and a small smile appeared on a face. "This is," she looked down, pointing at the blonde. "Kassie, then Rachel," Rachel was the pink haired girl. "This is Harley." Kenny said, pointing at the dolls as she spoke. "It was daddy's idea to name her Harley." Kenny giggled.

"Really?" Mia chuckled. "You know when I was your age, my mom got me a doll house just like this one. She told me if I didn't keep my dolls properly, a monster would eat them all up."

Kenny looked up at her and gasped. "That's terrible! I don't want monsters to eat my dolls."

"No monster would dare to eat a princess' doll." Mia shook her head.

"I'm sure the monster is no match for daddy." Kenny said, placing tiny play cups on a round small doll table.

Mia carefully poured the imaginary tea from the tiny play kettle into the cups for the dolls.

      "Thank you." Kenny thanked her.

"You're welcome." Mia smiled watching her daughter play with the dolls.

"Can you hold Rachel?" Kenny held out a doll to her.

"Sure." Mia gladly took the doll.

"I'm going to make Kassie sleep." Kenny told Mia. "Shhhh," she placed a finger over her lips. "Let's be quiet, Kassie wants to sleep." She said hushing Mia.

"Okay." Mia said in a whisper. She watched Kenny place the doll in a bed. "Sweetie, I think Rachel wants to sleep too. Do you think the tea made them this way?" Mia pretended to be surprised.

       Kenny giggled...

"Shhhh baby. You'll wake Kassie." Mia placed a finger over her lips.

Kenny nodded, taking Rachel from Mia and placing her into a bed next to Kassie. "Okay Harley, time to go to bed." She took the other doll, placing it on the next empty bed. "They are all asleep now."

"I think they are." Mia nodded in agreement.

Kenny smiled at Mia for a while. "You're beautiful." She said out of the blues.

Mia parted her lips, shocked and confused at the same time. "What?"

"Daddy always says you're beautiful." Kenny rubbed her eyes. "You're beautiful." She repeated again.

"My baby." Mia swooped Kenny in her arms. "You don't know how happy you've made me, my princess." Mia was shedding tears of joy. It was the first time Kenny had opened up to her, this was their first real conversation. "Honey you have no idea how much I love you." Mia cried.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to break your vase." Kenny apologized.

Mia looked at her. "Sweetie, I don't care about that." She wiped away her tears.

"You're not mad at me?" Kenny asked innocently.

"Never! My dear never! Mommy could never be mad at you my love. In fact, you could break all the vases you want and I'll still not get upset." She wasn't thinking of what she was saying, she was just happy.

"But I thought you'll be angry." Kenny said to her.

"No. Why would you think that?" Mia placed her hand under Kenny's chin, lifiting her face up.

"Because... Because... Because..." Kenny tried to shy away.

"It's okay, you can tell me." Mia assured her.

"Because... My other mommy hurt you, so I thought you won't like me." Kenny said calmly. "She locked you up, she made you cry."

Mia felt the tears in her eyes pour. So that was why Kenny was always distant. It wasn't because she hated her, it was because Kenny thought she wouldn't like her. "No. No. Princess I love you, I love you so much. I thought you didn't like me because you didn't want me to be your mom, I didn't know you were afraid of me. You're mommy's baby, you're mommy's princess, you're my beautiful baby girl." Mia kissed her daughter's cheek. "Kenny I love you more than you can ever imagine."

"I love you too... I love you mommy." Kenny whispered, hugging Mia's neck.

Mia kept on crying. She couldn't believe God answered her prayers!! Now, Kenny called her mommy.

"You gave her your necklace? You gave her your necklace?!" Ryan almost screamed.

Mia quickly closed the door. Kenny was asleep already, she didn't want Ryan disturbing Kenny with his rant about her necklace. Out of excitement, Mia took off her mine pendant necklace and had given it to Kenny as a gift. She saw how happy Kenny was when she had placed the necklace around her neck.

"I know, I know, but, Kenny likes it." Mia grinned, she was more than happy. Now she could see why Ryan couldn't resist giving in to whatever Kenny wanted.

"I gave you that necklace, you can't just—"

"I didn't give it to just anyone. I gave it to our daughter, your daughter." Mia told him, as they both headed back to their room.

"Universe, you know how important that necklace is to both of us. I love seeing it on you." Ryan said to her. He didn't want anyone else with the necklace, except Mia.

"Baby you could always get another one for me." Mia said to him.

"It holds so many sentimental values." Ryan argued.

"And now, it's being passed down to Kendra. How lovely." Mia could feel she was going to have a very good dream.

"You know what, I just got an idea." He said as soon as they got inside their room. "I could get another one for Kenny and while she's asleep, we'll swap." Ryan smiled.

Mia rolled her eyes. "It's a necklace Ryan. I trust Kenny, she'll take good care of it." Mia told him.

"She's still a kid, what if she thinks it's a play thing and then she loses it." Ryan frowned.

Mia wrapped her arms around his neck. "She won't. Can we stop arguing so we can kiss already?" Mia grinned happily.

"First thing tomorrow, I'm getting you a new necklace so that we can start making new memories with it." Ryan told her. "It has to be —"

Mia pressed her lips against his. "You talk too much." She said against his lips.

He moaned.... "God I love strawberry on your lips." He held her waist, deepening the kiss.
.................................................................

    Months later....

Mia laid on the bed with Ryan, she kept on sighing.

"What's going on universe, you can't sleep?" He asked, moving closer with a protective arm around her heavy stomach.

"I feel more and more anxious as each day passes." Mia told him.

     "Why is that?"

"Well because I'm due to give birth and I'm scared, what if there are complications. The doctor said there's a high possibility complications might occur during childbirth. I don't know if I'm ready for it." Mia said with all honesty.

"You need to stop worrying and let God handle the rest. Soon, all these will be over." He assured her.

"You're right." She sighed. "Worrying would get me nowhere." Mia said.

Someone pushed the door open slightly, it was Kenny. She poked her head into the room.

       "Mommy?"

Mia and Ryan sat up immediately as soon as they saw Kenny.

"Hey honey, come in." Mia beckoned on her.

     Kenny strolled into the room.

     "Princess." Ryan smiled at her.

"I can't sleep, I think the bogeyman has returned." Kenny walked around the room, looking for something to get her hands on.

"Oh. Okay then, your daddy's gonna stay in your room till you fall asleep." Mia said to her.

"Oh no, I want to stay here with you guys." Kenny shrugged, climbing a seat.

"Get down from there young lady, you'll fall." Ryan frowned slightly at her.

Kenny ignored him. She climbed onto the chair, staring at her reflection through the mirror. She smiled, picking up Mia's bracelets and necklaces, she wears them.

"You guys look at me, I'm wearing mommy's bracelets." Kenny struck a pose with a big smile as she looked at herself.

Mia chuckled... "You look stunning sweetie."

"Kenny don't you wanna go to bed?" Ryan asked as he was feeling sleepy.

"But I'm not sleepy yet." Kenny looked back at her parents.

Ryan got up and went over to her. "Okay sweetie, it's past bedtime. I am very exhausted, I need to sleep." He took off the jewelries, carefully placing them on the vanity table. "Let's go." He carried her in his arms, making his way to the big bed. "You can't disturb mommy okay? She needs to rest." He told her while dropping her on the bed. "Give me a kiss." He said, while getting into bed with Kenny between him and Mia.

"Mwah." She kissed his cheek. "Goodnight daddy." She turned to Mia, giving her a kiss on her lips. "I love you."

"Love you too." Mia gave Kenny more kisses on the face.

Ryan placed his arms over Kenny's small body, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Okay, go to sleep." He smiled, closing his eyes.

It became silent for awhile, Ryan was already dozing and Mia had her eyes closed.

      "Mommy?" Kenny called Mia.

    "Mhmm." Mia had to answer.

"Is it true tortoise breathe through their butt?" Kenny asked innocently.

Mia opened her eyes... "Huh?" She looked at Kenny who was facing her directly. "Who... Who told you that?"

      "Olaf!" Kenny grinned at her.

"Olaf? You mean that snowman in Frozen?" Mia batted her lashed, seeming amused.

"Yes. Should I sing for you?" Kenny asked, playing with Mia's lips.

"It's late, maybe tomorrow." Mia disagreed. Kenny loved the cartoon Frozen, the songs were all she could sing and when she sings, it's really hard to stop her.

Kenny ignored her. "Let it go!! Let it go!!! Can't hold it back anymoreeee!!" Kenny was practically screaming. "I don't careeeee..."

"Kenny, Kenny. Hold on. Kenny. Daddy's asleep." Mia said, trying to shush her up.

"Let it gooooo!!!" Kenny screamed louder.

"Kenny you have an excellent voice, but it's late." Mia tried covering Kenny's mouth.

"Sing with me mommy." Kenny giggled.

Ryan groaned aloud. "Princess I'll tell the bogeyman to come in here if you don't stop singing that song." Ryan threatened her.

"I'm sorry." Kenny hid under the blanket.

"Stop scaring her Ryan." Mia laughed, pulling Kenny from under the blanket. "He's only pulling your legs, there's no such thing as a bogeyman."

"No, I saw him. He went under my bed." Kenny said.

"Okay fine. Can we go to sleep now?" Mia asked, rubbing noses together with Kenny.

"Okay." Kenny nodded. "Goodnight mommy." Kenny smiled at her.

"You too." Mia said, closing her eyes.

"I love you." Kenny said, pulling on Mia's lashes.

"I love you too." Mia answered with a smile.

"I love you mommy." Kenny said again.

"I love you baby." Mia nodded, trying to sleep.

"I love you." Kenny said again.

    "Love you." Mia yawned out.

"I love you mommy." Kenny kept on repeating.

"Mommy loves you sweetie." Mia said in a whisper.

"Kenny loves you." Kenny said again.

     "Mhmm." Mia had fallen asleep.

"I love you mommy." Kenny said to her but Mia had drifted off to sleep. "Mommy?" She called Mia, taping her slightly on the cheek.

Mia opened her eyes halfway. "What is it honey?" She was feeling drowsy.

"I love you." Kenny smiled at her.

"I love you too princess. Go to sleep okay?" Mia's eyes begged to close.

"Okay." She nodded, wrapping Ryan's arm around her body. "Night."

Mia nodded with a small smile before going to bed.

Kenny finally closed her eyes, falling asleep immediately. She was spoilt and she always got what she wanted. She was seldomly scolded by her parents and virtually got away with every and any thing. Ryan treated her like a prized jewel while Mia treated her like an egg.

Kendra Rita Webster was the apple of everyone's eye, she was loved by the people surrounding her. She even managed to put Natalie under a spell as Natalie had decided that her next collection was going to be named "Blue Angel" an inspiration from Kenny. She was going to feature Kenny in the shoot as she was Kenny's Godmother.

Mia kept feeling discomfort as she slept, she kept feeling pains in her belly and her lower back. She sat up, trying to regulate her breathing. Glancing at Kenny and Ryan who were sleeping peacefully, she decided not to wake Ryan up and just move around a little to lessen the pain.

She slowly got up from the bed and walked around a little bit but the pains worsened. It was definitely contractions and it made her scared. She thought she could hold in the pain but it got worse by the minute. Clutching unto a table, she shut her eyes tight, groaning aloud.

"Oh my God... Ryan! Shit. Ryan!!!" Mia yelled out, trying to wake him up.

Ryan jolted up immediately. "What?" He blinked his eyes multiple times to control his dizziness.

"Baby... Baby, I think I need help." Mia said quickly, the pain was become unbearable.

"What's wrong?" He frowned, watching her squirm.

"It's the baby. He's coming!" Mia said through her teeth.

"Oh shit!" Ryan jumped out of bed, dashing towards her. "Wh-what do you want?" Ryan began to panic.

Mia glared at him. "How can you ask me that?! Hospital of course!!" She snapped at him. Although not intentionally but due to the intense pain she was feeling at the moment.

"Ri-right! Sorry." He held her waist. "Can you walk?"

"No. And I can't talk either." Mia struggled to stay calm.

In a second, Ryan carried Mia in his arms in bridal style, hurrying her out of the room.

"Who would stay with Kenny?" She asked Ryan.

"She'll be fine. Don't worry about her, you need attention." He said, securing her in his arms as he hurried away.

They made it to the car and Ryan drove them to the hospital.

"You shouldn't be the one panicking, that's my job. Say something to me!" Mia said to him, as she kept puffing out air from her mouth.

"Keep breathing," Ryan was in a whole lot of panic. He even joined her in her breathing exercise as he drove.

"Keep talking! Ughhhh!!!" Mia placed her hand over her belly.

"O-o-o-okay." Ryan couldn't think. "I love you so much okay? We're gonna get through this and you're gonna be fine. I promise, after this, I'm gonna get the picture frames you've been talking about, lots of them!" He said nervously.

      "Really?" Mia looked at him.

"Yes! Whatever you want!" Ryan nodded vehemently.

Mia chuckled. "I can't believe it took this to convince you." She said breathless then suddenly felt a sharp pain, stronger than others. "Ah! Drive faster." She commanded.

"Yes!" Ryan nodded sharply as his heart was pounding about to break out from the ribcage.

"Ryan..." She felt liquid seep down her legs.

Ryan glanced at her and he saw it. "Your water just broke!" His panic heightened. "I might go crazy right now." The pressure on him was too much that he started sweating under the airconditioner.

     "Just drive." Mia said aloud.

In fifteen minutes, they got to the hospital. Mia was immediately wheeled into the delivery room.

"It's okay, it's okay, it's okay." Ryan cooed, placing forehead kisses on her every three second.

Mia was laying on the bed, dressed in a hospital dress. She was sweating profusely as Ryan stood by her side trying to calm her nerves.

"Can I get this over and done with?! This isn't pleasure!!" Mia glared at the medical team.

"You'll have to wait a little longer madame, we can only start when your contractions last about thirty to seventy seconds and —"

"Induce me!" Mia glared at the woman talking.

"I'm afraid we can't do that, your blood pressure is high." A nurse said to her.

Mia turned to Ryan and burst into tears. "It hurts, it hurts so much." She needed a way to calm the intense pain she was in, crying was her best option.

"I know, baby I know." Ryan kissed her forehead again. "It'll be all right." He tried to comfort her. He too was helpless and couldn't do anything to assist except stay by her side. "Don't be scared, I'm gonna be here." Ryan said to her, stroking her hair.

"Don't go okay?" Mia was scared to death. Pain and fear were bad combinations.

When she first had Kenny, it was simpler because her mom was always with her, Karen helped her. There were no complications, unlike now.
