Chapter 4 (English)

When I finished changing, I found a comb on a dresser and combed my blond hair. I put braids in it and looked at myself in the mirror. Phew. What would Brian say? Wait ... what? He has known me for an hour! I tightened the tight, light blue dress a little. Linda must have looked wonderful in that dress. I sighed and put some of her high heels on. She had really nice things. Hopefully she wasn't mad at me. Or Malcolm. Finally I kind of burst in here. I quietly closed the door of the room and walked back across the floor. I was just on Malcolm and Linda's floor. The two were pretty much in the middle. But all floors consisted of only one large bedroom, a bathroom and two smaller rooms. The kitchen and living room were then on the ground floor. The others were already waiting. Despite her pregnancy, Linda looked beautiful in the dress she was wearing.

"There you are!" Shouted Cliff, who had seen me first. Everyone turned around and I bowed my head a little shyly.

"You look wonderful in that dress!" Exclaimed Linda happily. Phew. So she wasn't angry with me.

"Thanks for letting me put your clothes on, Linda." I smiled.

"No problem. We women have to stick together." I giggled. Brian was still looking at me with his mouth open.

"What is?" I asked.

"It's just ... you look good. That's all." He said and was red. I grinned. We decided to got, because the restaurant was supposedly not very far. Angus ran with Cliff and Phil. I was in the back with Ellen, Linda, Malcolm and Brian. Malcolm was holding Linda's hand. In the other hand, he had a cigarette.

"Honey, you really should quit smoking." Said Linda.

"Someday I'll die anyway, Linds." Malcolm chuckled. If only he knew what a cruel death he was going to get. But...I would tell him someday. I couldn't risk telling the truth now.

"Smoking is not good, Malcolm." I said. "You're also harming the baby." He turned to me. His eyes were big. "Everyone around you is smoking with you. Even if you don't have the cigarette in your mouth. And that's why it's like Linda smoking. And that will harm the baby." Malcolm looked at me in shock for a while, before he tossed the cigarette on the floor and kicked it out. I had to smile a little. He was so loving. He was going to make a great father for sure. Linda looked at me thankfully. Brian put an arm around my shoulders. I tensed up briefly, but then recovered. He touches me! He's got an arm around me!

"Did you remember a little more?" He asked gently.

"Yes. I know that I am from London. But still not how I got to Sydney." He nodded and took my hand. I immediately blushed. When he raised his head I saw that he was red too.

"You can stay with us as long as you want. Stay here forever if you want. We can get you clothes and furnish a room the way you want it." He sounded a little desperate. My heart was pounding wildly in my chest.

"Thanks, Brian."

"No problem." He smiled. "I like you."

"I like you too." I giggled. He blushed and looked away a little. But he didn't let go of my hand. Could he love me? Arlene! What are you actually thinking?! He has only known you for a few hours! Malcolm suddenly started laughing. Everyone looked at him.

"What happened?" Phil asked puzzled.

"I just remembered Angus walking this way." It was quiet for a while.

"I was a bloody child!" Angus then screamed. Malcolm was still having a laughing fit. I grinned.

"What happened?" Asked Linda with a smile.

"Angus fell, right here every morning." He pointed to a spot on the sidewalk. "Fell down. Every day on the way to school. Right here." I started laughing, as did the others. Angus giggled a little, but pouted.

"Aw. Don't be sad, darling." Ellen giggled and kissed him. Angus leaned into the kiss and smiled at his wife as they parted. Soon we arrived at the restaurant and went inside. Everything was very nicely furnished here. So loving. We were shown to a large table in the corner where we sat down. Brian pulled me next to him. I smiled a little. God! I have such a crush! Everyone ordered a drink and then we read the menus. Linda leaned a little against Malcolm, who looked at her in surprise.

"Is anyone tired?" He teased. She nodded. "Poor Linda. Should have stayed at home."

"Idiot." She giggled, slapping his chest gently. I giggled. We ordered our food. Phil and Cliff had already had their second glass of alcohol. People were dancing on the dance floor and I was watching.

"Don't any of you dance?" I asked Brian. The others were talking wildly.

"Linda and Mal have always done that." Brian explained. "But at the moment Linda is pregnant." I nodded.

"Do you have a girlfriend Brian?" I bit my lip nervously. Crap! What if he says yes!?

"No." I immediately felt a load from my heart! Oh my God! Luckily.

"Oh." Was all I could say. In reality, I would have liked to have jumped up and danced for joy.

"Yeah, not as happy as Mal and Ang." Brian sighed.

"You'll find the right one too." I said encouragingly. He grinned at me and I blushed a little.

"Mal? Can you dance with me?" Ellen wailed. We looked at her in surprise.

"You have a husband of your own." Malcolm chuckled.

"But Angus can't dance."

"Yes. He can. But he does not want to. He also always steps on your feet." We laughed. Angus blushed.

"Not true!" Malcolm stood up.

"Prove it!" He held out his hand to his brother.

"Do you still have them all!? I don't dance with you in public!" We laughed.

"Look!" Malcolm teased. "You are a scared rabbit!"

"I'm not at all!"

"Yes you are! You're so scared you'll piss on yourself!" Angus angrily took Malcolm's hand and let himself be pulled up. They went to the dance floor. A few people looked at them, but the others didn't seem to notice. Angus put his hand on Malcolm's shoulder and Malcolm his on Angus' waist. The two started dancing. We laughed even though they weren't bad. Malcolm turned perfectly with the song that was coming. Angus not really. He looked at his feet the whole time. I giggled.

"Would you do me the honor?" I heard someone and looked up. A young man. He held out his hand to me.

"I..."

"She already has a dance partner." Said Brian. He got up and took my hand. I giggled. He was really protective! And jealous! A scream was heard from Malcolm.

"You got on my foot again!" He looked at Angus a little angry. We laughed. Brian went to the dance floor with me. The brothers were still dancing. Brian carefully put his hand on my waist and we slowly began to sway. The song changed and got quick, but we didn't get any faster. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Malcolm whirl his brother across the dance floor and the others laughed. Angus looked a little dazed. I carefully laid my head on Brian's chest. God. His upper arms were so muscular! Those muscles pushed through the shirt! He put his head on mine and we swayed again.

"I love you." I heard him whisper and immediately looked up.

"What did you say?" I asked in shock.

"Nothing. Nothing at all." He was totally red. Angus and Malcolm stopped beside us. Brian grabbed Malcolm by the hand and pressed him against me. Then he quickly went back to the table. I looked after him in shock. Malcolm held me and we swayed a little.

"Are you crying?" Malcolm asked quietly. I nodded, whimpering. "Hey. Whatever happened, everything's fine." He kissed my head gently and rubbed my back.

"Thank you, Malcolm." I whispered.

"No problem. If you have a problem come to me, okay? I'm here for you."

"Thanks." I sniffed. I looked over at Brian, who was being hugged by Phil. What just happened?
