Chapter One: In Which Krux is Killed By Children

Once upon a time in the small village of Ignacia, Kai and Nya's parents found themselves in a tight spot. They were in desperate need of a babysitter for their energetic and adventurous children. The search for a suitable caretaker led them to an unexpected duo – Krux and Acronix. The twins weren't exactly known for their childcare abilities, but the Smith siblings already knew them so Ray and Maya found no harm in them spending a couple of hours with the kids.

As the sun began to set over Ninjago City, Ray and Maya bid farewell to their children, entrusting Krux and Acronix with the care of Kai and Nya.

In the Smith household, Krux and Acronix found themselves in unfamiliar territory. The energetic siblings wasted no time in bombarding the twins with questions and requests for games. The twins exchanged uneasy glances, realizing that babysitting was more challenging than they had anticipated.

"Why do you have two different colored eyes," Nya asked as she stood on the couch putting a bunch of barrettes in Acronix's hair.

Acronix chuckled nervously, trying to maintain his composure. "Well, you see, it's just the way we were born. Some people are like that," he explained, glancing at his brother Krux, who was attempting to engage Kai in a conversation about ancient Ninjago history.

Meanwhile, Kai, with a mischievous glint in his eye, interrupted his brother's history lesson. "Hey, Acronix, can you show us your cool time magic!"

"Elemental powers, not magic," Krux sighed, squeezing the bridge of his nose.

Acronix, slightly uncomfortable with the request, hesitated for a moment. "Well, it's not exactly a party trick, but I suppose I can give you a little demonstration."

With a focused expression, Acronix extended his hand and a subtle shimmer of energy surrounded it. The room seemed to warp slightly as time manipulation took effect. The ticking of the clock on the wall slowed down, and the movement of the siblings froze for a split second.

Kai and Nya stared in awe as Acronix manipulated time within their living room. "Whoa, that's so cool!" Kai exclaimed.

Nya, still holding a handful of barrettes, blinked rapidly. "Can you make time go backward?"

Acronix chuckled again. "Well, it's a bit more complicated than that, and messing with time isn't always a good idea. But I can show you some other tricks." He demonstrated a few more controlled time shifts, creating small temporal loops that fascinated the adventurous siblings.

Meanwhile, Krux, seeing his brother's success, decided to redirect Kai's attention. "Kai, did you know that Ninjago City has a rich history of ancient battles and legendary warriors? I could tell you stories about the past if you're interested."

Kai's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Really? That sounds awesome! Tell me more!"

Later that night Acronix was cleaning up dinner chuckling to himself upon hearing the kids Screaming at Krux.

"I will never put on pajamas," Nya yelled as she ran downstairs wearing nothing but a towel.

Acronix couldn't help but laugh at the chaos that unfolded. "Looks like Krux is having quite the bedtime struggle with Nya."

Krux, looking a bit flustered, tried to reason with the determined young girl. "Nya, you need to wear pajamas for a good night's sleep. It's important!"

Nya crossed her arms, her expression defiant. "No way! I don't like them. They're itchy."

Acronix stepped in, trying to mediate the situation. "How about we compromise? We can find you some super comfy pajamas, and maybe you can choose the design or color. How does that sound?"

Nya considered the offer for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Fine, but they better be really comfy!"

When the twins made it upstairs they were horrified to find that Kai had gotten into his mom's makeup and his face was now a combination of red and black.

Krux and Acronix exchanged a glance, unsure of how to handle the situation. Kai looked up with a mischievous grin, proud of his artistic endeavors.

"Uh, Kai, what happened to your face?" Acronix asked cautiously.

"I wanted to be a ninja warrior with cool face paint like in the ancient battles Krux was telling me about," Kai explained, trying to justify his actions.

Krux sighed, realizing that bedtime was turning into a more challenging mission than anticipated. "Kai, using your mom's makeup without permission is not a good idea. We need to clean that off, and then it's time for bed."

When Krux reached out to lift Kai off the chair he felt a sharp pain on his hand. Looking down he saw that Kai had sunk his teeth into his hand with no sign of letting go.

Krux winced in pain, trying to shake off Kai's determined bite. "What the fuck!?" Acronix smacked his brother upside the head and glared at him, silently telling him not to swear in front of the kids.

The chaos continued as Krux struggled to free his hand from Kai's unexpected bite. Acronix, with a stern expression, scolded his brother, "Krux, be careful! Remember, we're here to babysit, not engage in hand-to-hand combat."

"You are not the one being beaten up by an eight and five-year-old," Krux hissed, his yellow and red eyes flashing with anger.

Amidst the bedtime chaos, Ray and Maya returned home, finding Krux and Acronix in a rather compromising situation.

"What in Ninjago is going on here?" Maya exclaimed, taking in the scene of a makeup-covered Kai, Nya in a towel, and the struggling twins.

Ray raised an eyebrow, glancing at Krux, who was still trying to pry Kai's jaws open. "Looks like babysitting didn't go as smoothly as we hoped."

Acronix, attempting to maintain composure, explained, "Well, it had its ups and downs, but we managed."

Maya sighed, eyeing the chaos. "Ups and downs indeed. Kai, let go of Krux, sweetie. We don't bite people."

Kai finally released his grip on Krux's hand, and the twins shared a moment of relief. Krux inspected his hand, which bore the unmistakable marks of Kai's enthusiastic attempt at hand-to-hand combat.

As the chaos settled, Nya, now in comfy pajamas, approached her parents. "Krux and Acronix showed us cool time powers and told us stories about ancient battles. And we compromised on the pajama thing!"

Maya raised an eyebrow at the makeup-covered Kai. "I see. Well, it seems like you all had an eventful evening. Thank you, Krux and Acronix, for taking care of them."

Ray, with a grin, added, "Next time, maybe stick to less risky activities. We appreciate the effort, though."

The twins nodded, acknowledging the lesson learned from their unexpected babysitting adventure.

The next morning there was a knock at the twins' door. Acronix opened it to find Libber standing outside, an eager smile on her face and a half-asleep child in her arms. "Maya told me about you guys babysitting last night. Do you guys think you can handle Jayson for the day?"

"Absolutely not," Krux shouted, walking over and slamming the door.
