A store on every corner,
An attitude on every block,
A lot of tough exteriors,
but hearts of gold in many chests.

A little Philly street...

Her roots were humble,
but her faith was strong.
Family was love,
their traditions long.

A little Philly street...

Her path had long since left that neighborhood,
now a different place entirely,
with its broken street signs, graffiti and crime,
Her youthful roots have changed.
But she carried her early life into the future.
Determination, guts, raw spirit and success were built into her foundation.

A little Philly street...

Some see only the end results,
but I appreciate the success of her amazing climb.
