It was raining.

One and a half weeks later, Baekhyun sat at the same bed in the same room in the same hospital. He was staring out the small window at the end of his room, watching raindrops thrash into the glass.

He was already bored of this place.

His parents had been contacted the day he went into hospital but they came down the day after. Ever since they visited him as often as the could as they rented out an apartment to stay at in Seoul for a while.  They were supposed to come and see him today but they hadn't shown up yet.

It was weird seeing his parents. Baekhyun couldn't explain what it was. It wasn't until the two called out his name frantically before Baekhyun realised that they were probably his family. It was like he didn't quite recognise them.

Of course he thought this was just side effects of being in a drastic car crash and didn't think more of it.

Later that day, the Doctor came in with a nurse by his side, holding some sort of documents as always. He smiled when Baekhyun turned to him and pulled up a chair next to the bed. The nurse remained standing.

"How are you today, Baekhyun?"

He gave the man a quick nod to say I'm fine.

"Results have came in from that scan we did the other day" he carried on, but dropping his smile.

Baekhyun swallowed hard and nodded again.

"All injures are curable. For example your leg, your lucky that wasn't as bad as it could have been. With a bit of time and hard work you'll be back on your feet again in no time"

Baekhyun sighed because thank god he couldn't wait to heal and get back home. He felt so relieved that he will actually be able to walk again and won't have to be stuck in some wheelchair for the rest of his life.

"However," he began again. Baekhyun never knew one word could make him so nervous. "There's one thing that can't be changed. You hit your head during the crash and got pretty bad concussion."

"Is that all?" Baekhyun asked anxiously

"No." He said simply. "The spot at which you hit your head and because of the concussion... it seems you have lost some memories"

Baekhyun's mouth dropped just like his heart as he lay still, processing every word carefully.

Baekhyun spent the rest of that day silent. Even when his parents came in with some freshly made soup for him to eat. In fact it was hard for him to even look them in the eye after what information had received that day, he turned the other way when they looked at him and didn't open his mouth once. He felt bad after they left but he could face them, not then.

When they left it was only then when Baekhyun began to take small sips of the soup. It was good. It seemed ages since he last tasted some decent food— he couldn't help but say the hospital wasn't the best at their meals.

After he'd finished, Baekhyun wished that he had asked for some kind of entertainment to keep him busy while he lay in bed all day, instead of staring at the same old blank wall. A book, a phone, a drawing pad, notebook, some music—anything would be better than this!

Why was this room so empty and boring?

Baekhyun started to wonder whether there was actually anyone else behind these walls; it was so silent and still in his room. He just wished he could magically heal over night and walk on his own feet again.
