Stress
Aurora and Jessie walked in the direction Bucky told them to, the eldest was paranoid and too aware of her surroundings. She checked the bleeding in her arm to make sure she was as okay as she could be until they reached help. Aurora hadn't stopped crying, the younger girl held her sister to do her best to help her and also as a way to feel safer with her big sister in charge.
They both made it to the station, the two walked in, Jessie clung to her sister tighter and followed her sister to the counter.
"Excuse me? Is there someone I can talk to please?" The officer nodded, let them through and pointed to the opened door. Aurora walked with her sister and pointed to an empty room, they sat in the room, the door closed and an uncomfortable silence filled the room. Jessie grabbed her hand, watching with paranoid eyes as an officer walked in, Aurora took a breath as the officer sat down and looked at them ready to listen to their problem.
"What can I do for you?"
"My name is Aurora Williams, this is my sister Jessie Williams. Four years ago, my sister and I were kidnapped from a park in Seattle." It felt odd saying the words out loud, the officer stared at them shocked and moved away to talk to another officer. The two girls watched the commotion from outside, a whole bunch of people stared at them and it made them uncomfortable.
However, after the cops realised they were one of the top priority missing person cases it became a huge frenzy. They were taken to the hospital under the watchful eyes of police officers as they were examined and patched up. It was a day after being treated in a private wing of the hospital that the two girls were visited by a new face.
"Miss Williams, do you have a moment to speak?" Jessie was sitting on Aurora's bed, they were watching a movie, the girl looked at the man with an eyepatch and stared at him silently as he moved closer.
"Who are you?" The girl spat out, staring at him defensively, he didn't take any offence to it and held his hands up to ease their worries.
"My name is Nick Fury. I am the director of S.H.I.E.L.D."
"As in the one from the 40s The one Peggy Carter wanted to create from SSR?"
"Yes, it's expanded since then, I know who you are Miss Williams. Winter's Princess. I know that you were used as an assassin to gain information due to those powers of yours. I know that during those fours years you were tortured, I have a team of others similar to you and given the circumstances, I know that you will not want to work with that team but I can give you and your sister a safe place to live that is secure and that will be off the books, no one besides myself will know that you're there and you do not need to think of any of the real-life problems such as money and work. No one will know that you are there."
Aurora read his mind, read the truth and knew that he wasn't out to get her. Wasn't bad like the others she had known, the brunette nodded and watched as the man walked away. Jessie took her hands, staring at her worriedly but knew that the sister could tell that the man was telling the truth.
After a week of recovery, Nick Fury took the girls to the secret location in Washington which is where Aurora was meant to have her mission. The apartment was already stocked with food, clothes, furniture and appliances to get the girls by. Money was also supplied if they did want to go out and spend, though Fury had his suspicions that the girls wouldn't want to leave their new safe place.
Jessie seemed to be okay, she felt fine as well, she was aware of her surroundings but didn't know what was happening exactly in the world. Aurora on the other hand experienced high levels of anxiety from noises in the street, kept the windows and blinds closed all the time and ignored her pain to show her sister that she was okay.
While her sister slept, Aurora would spend the nights crying or hiding in the bathroom while she had a panic attack, they were frequent and they came at different points throughout the day, she didn't know how to handle them or how to cope when she had no one that could help her and she would never place that on her sister so she struggled by herself.
Aurora's mind was always on Bucky, was he okay? Are they hurting him? Have they killed him? She wanted him by her side more than anything in the world, he knew what she went through he was there all the way and now that would line of support was gone. She needed him, it hurt that she couldn't do this by herself but for those four years it was all that she knew and now she had no clue what she was meant to do with herself.
