Romania

The trio moved to Romania, Aurora had never been to Europe, so she was honestly excited to be living where they decided to live. They lived in a small apartment where the only thing that they really had was clothes, three mattresses and a kitchen right beside the living room, newspapers covered the windows, blocking any view from the outside world looking in or the trio looking out other than that, they barely had anything in their place, just in case they needed a quick getaway. Aurora still wasn't comfortable with leaving, Bucky, on the other hand, was very comfortable with leaving and grabbed the things that the girl needed and that they all needed.

Aurora sat on her mattress, fiddling with her necklace as she read a book, trapped in the world of literature, however, ready if a foreign sound struck her ears. Aurora glanced at the door as it opened, Bucky walked in with bags in his hands and pushed herself up.

The brunette girl helped him place everything away, Bucky noticed there were no plates in the sink, he turned to Jessie who had the crust of a sandwich on her plate, with the ends of strawberries and a packet of chips resting on the plate.

Bucky watched the girl who seemed to be struggling to stand without holding onto the counter, the man grabbed some items down to make some food, knowing exactly what had happened.

"Have you eaten today?"

"Wasn't hungry," Aurora mumbled quietly, Bucky took a sigh, gave her a look and stopped her from putting the shopping away. Aurora looked at him confused, she knew what he was talking about but didn't want to say anything, she didn't know why she had fallen into the habit for the last few days, she wouldn't eat breakfast, she might have something really small for lunch and dinner was her only proper meal. Bucky did notice it, just didn't want to say anything, but he was getting worried and he didn't want to see her hurt herself if she continued on this way.

"I'll make you a sandwich, just sit on the couch." Aurora nodded, walked over to the couch and waited for Bucky to call her over. The man sat beside her as he handed her a plate, she thanked him quietly and started eating.

"Why didn't you eat?"

"Just didn't feel like eating, I don't know the reason why, I just think... I can't really find the energy to look after myself if that makes sense." Bucky nodded, understanding what she meant but didn't want to see her hurt.

"I'm here for you as well, I can look after you, It's not just you and Jessie anymore. I've got you."

"I know, I just feel really bad, because you've just escaped Hydra and you need time for yourself... and I just feel like you feel that you can't escape that because of me."

"You shouldn't feel bad, there's no reason to feel bad, you went through it too, I'm going to take care of you." Aurora sighed, Bucky rubbed her shoulder and took the plate from her hands once she was done, taking it to the sink and washing it.

Aurora walked over to Jessie, glancing at what she was drawing, smiling as she saw the details of the flower garden she was drawing.

"It's really pretty, Jessie."

"Thanks, Rory." Aurora nodded, sitting with her as she continued to draw, Jessie actually had a room. The eldest two both believed that Jessie should have her own room, and they were lucky enough to find one, the youngest girl looked back in Bucky's direction, glancing at her sister with a cheeky look.

"You still love him, don't you?" Aurora nodded, not being able to deny that she didn't stop loving him. Aurora watched as Jessie grabbed her hands, the younger girl looking at her sister hopefully.

"I hope you love each other again soon."

"I don't know if we will, Bucky might decide to move on eventually and hide from his past. It's just what happens."  Jessie shook her head, giving her a reassuring smile, Aurora hugged her sister for her optimism.

Night had fallen, Jessie was sound asleep, only the two adults were awake and they hadn't really said anything to each other since. Aurora grabbed her items to shower, she stood in the bathroom, taking the clothes off her body and staring at herself as she felt tears escape her eyes as she judged her body. The scars were so ugly, she couldn't function properly, the brunette got into the shower and started showering.

Aurora zoned out eventually, just standing in the water, the girl jumped hearing Bucky's soft voice. Yet the shock of sound made her slip and hit the ground with a loud thud. Aurora painfully reached up, switched the water off and then opened the glass door to get her towel.

"Aurora, are you okay?" Bucky called out, Aurora let out a whimper which sound like a yes, yet he knew very well that it wasn't.

"Can I come in?" Bucky questioned, not wanting to invade her privacy as she dealt with her injury herself. Bucky heard her weakly say yes, he opened the door and sighed seeing her on the shower floor with a towel loosely wrapped around her body. Bucky stepped in, picked her up in the towel and carefully carried her out of the shower. He rested her on the counter, looking at the tears that formed in her eyes, he looked at the scars on her shoulders and the ones he could see on her chest above her towel. Aurora didn't meet his eyes, disgusted by her body and the scars that Hydra had given her.

"Can I help you dress?" He questioned cautiously, not wanting to cross any boundaries, the girl nodded and grimaced as Bucky helped her off the counter and carefully folded the towel up as he started grabbing her clothes.

Bucky helped get her underwear on, the brunette man stared at her in shock just seeing the extent of the injuries she received. There were so many scars, so many injuries that he didn't even know that she got, he averted his gaze and finished dressing her. Bucky fiddled with her necklace, a ghost of a smile forming as he stared at the jewellery.

Aurora clutched onto Bucky as he carefully picked her up, the man rested her on her mattress and then walked to the kitchen to get some painkillers. The girl thanked him for the painkillers and grabbed a teddy bear, holding it close to her chest.

"Ro, are you alright?" The girl nodded, Bucky didn't know how to help her, he watched her smile and walked away from her to shower and go to bed. Aurora struggled to fall asleep, the pain was a lot and she also knew that the nightmares would come.

The girl eventually gave in to her body's wishes, Aurora fell asleep, left alone with the demons her mind would create. Bucky didn't sleep most nights, the brunette turned to Aurora as he heard a cry escape her lips. When it came to nightmares, Aurora was much subtler than he was, she would twist and turn in the slightest bit, whimpering and mumbling.

Bucky hated seeing her this way, he pushed himself up, crouched down beside her and gently rocked her awake.  Aurora jolted awake, he waited a few seconds for her to realise where she was and that she wasn't in her nightmare. He cautiously wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to his chest, he rested a hand on the back of her head, stroking her hair soothingly, making sure she eased down from her panic.

"You're not there anymore, you're okay... I've got you." Bucky let his own tears fall as he listened to her sobs, she gripped onto his shirt and shook in his hold. Bucky rested his chin on the top of her head, rubbing her back gently and whispering soothing words into her ears.
