It must have been around three or four in the morning when I woke up to an empty space on my bed. My arm reached out for Dash, but nothing. Where had she gone? Was it all a dream? No, it couldn't be. It was all too real and the form on my mattress proved to be anything but false. Slowly, I sat up on my bed and brought my knees up to my chest as I rested my chin on them.
A couple moments passed and it was as if Rainbow had never even showed up last night. The downpour outside continued to strengthen with each passing second along with the lightning that illuminated my entire room. The sudden crack of thunder echoed through the walls of my bedroom and caused to flinch. A small sigh escaped my lips as my head began to overflow with unwanted thoughts. Did Rainbow really leave my house without a word? What if my mom walked in and asked her to leave? No... She likes her enough to let her stay... So... Where was she?
As if on cue, my bedroom door creaked open slowly, and a familiar figure appeared in the doorway with a mug in their hand. The dim hallway light shone on my face and the person stopped dead in their tracks.
"S-Sorry if I woke you..." Dash said quietly. There was a thick moment of silence between us, and Dash still hadn't moved from her spot at the door. Her fingers tapped against the mug before averting her gaze to the floor, "I... I got thirsty and... Made myself some hot chocolate. I swear, I washed the pot when I finished -"
"Dashie." She went silent when I spoke up. Rainbow licked her lips nervously and focused her attention onto me. Her gaze read guilt, and it did not take two to figure out why.
"Yeah..." Dash replied hesitantly.
I removed the covers off of myself and approached her at a slow pace. I grabbed onto the half empty mug in her hand and gently placed it on the dresser beside us before allowing myself to drape my arms around her waist tightly. For a second, Rainbow did not respond. My heart began pounding harder into my chest at the thought of her not wanting me in her life anymore. Just as I opened my mouth to speak, Dash broke into a silent cry and held me closer than ever.
We held each other in a deep and warm embrace before I pulled her inside my room to close the door behind her. Rainbow's tears fell from her cheeks down to the floor as I lifted my hands to wipe her face dry. Once that was done, I stroked Dash's cheeks and leaned in to kiss her. Just like that, it was as if all of our problems drifted away.
Her lips brushed against mine ever so softly with each kiss she gave. Her touch was gentle and caring. If anyone was in my shoes, they would be able to feel the love within her actions. They would not want to leave my position if this was happening to them. It's just that right.
Rainbow glided her hands down my waist gradually until she got to my thighs and used her strength to lift me off the ground, our lips still colliding. My arms wrapped themselves around her neck and brought her in closer as if this was our last day in Equestria. Dash moved forward and soon laid me back down onto my bed as she hovered above me.
Our lips were centimeters away, and the lightning lit up the room once more revealing Dash's face. Her hair was a mess, and her lips were slightly redder. Her ruby eyes stared at my own lips before I pulled her by the collar of her shirt and kissed her passionately. My hands continued to wander down her waist before dragging themselves up to her disheveled hair.
The kiss itself deepened, and I unknowingly flipped us both over so I was now straddling Dash. She rested her hands on my hips for a moment, and pressed her lips back onto mine as if they were fused together. My hands glided down her sides and up her back while tugging at the shirt roughly. As a response, Rainbow broke the kiss and pulled off the shirt then tossed it across the bed.
We continued the kiss as I placed my hands onto each side of her face as Dash left hers resting on the hem of my white tank top. Before we knew it, we both wound up half nude on my bed having the most intense make out session we ever had together. Quite frankly... I liked it. I didn't want to stop, and I knew Dash didn't want to either, but something in me told me to stop.
Reluctantly, I broke the kiss and leaned my forehead against hers as we both tried to catch our breath. I brought my hand up to Rainbow's face and stroked her cheek once more then planted a soft kiss on her nose and sank into her embrace. I kissed her neck softly a few times until I buried my face into her neck. Rainbow responded with a chuckle then draped both arms around my waist protectively.
"You do realize what we were about to do, right?" She questioned awkwardly. A blush swept onto my face like a tidal wave and I nodded. She laughed a little and kissed the side of my head, "We won't do it until you're actually ready... I hope you know that."
"I do... Thank you." I said in a hushed voice. She smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Good... I... Uh... Never mind..." Rainbow began then let her voice fade. I looked up at her with a questioning look. She shook her head, "It's stupid... Plus, it's already five in the morning and we both need sleep."
"There's school today?"
"Babe, today is Saturday." Rainbow said with the cutest laugh in her voice. A smile grew on my lips and I couldn't help but giggle into her chest.
"You're such a dork... I hope you know that," I said quietly with a grin. Her lips formed a huge smile along with another laugh. She looked at me and ran her fingers through my hair slowly and carefully. Once our eyes met, Dash chuckled and kissed my cheek causing my face to redden.
"You're just so adorable... Let's go to sleep, princess." Rainbow pulled the covers over the both of us and held me extra close once she bid me goodnight. As I began drifting back into my slumber, I heard Dash whisper something. I wasn't too sure what she had said, but I didn't care at the moment. I'm just thankful to have someone like her in my life...
Rainbow Dash's POV
"I love you..." I whispered to Flutters. A part of me hoped that she didn't hear that, but another portion hoped she did. I was conflicted at this point. I just couldn't piece together that I was actually going to tell her that I love her before we went to bed.
Truth be told, I really do feel love towards Fluttershy. She makes me feel like I'm actually special. I feel wanted and... Known when I'm with her. She's everything I've been wanting and searching for... I just can't bring myself to say it out loud without fear of her rejecting me...
Not only that, but I still need to discuss yesterday's events with her. I need to clear things out. For now, I feel safe right where I am right now...
Sweet dreams, princess...
"... Dashie... Wake up," I felt a small shove against my chest repeatedly. I grunted as a response and rolled over onto my stomach and buried my face into the pillows before the action continued. The annoyance I was already feeling grew even more intense than before as I forced myself to sit up and stare at the person with half closed eyes.
Everything was blurry and the sunlight from the windows stung my eyes. For a few seconds, I let my vision adjust to the sudden change and found myself staring at the most beautiful girl on the planet, "Flutters... What are you doing up?"
Fluttershy flushed red, "It's already one in the afternoon, Dashie... You need to wake up and eat lunch."
"Babe, I'm not..." The aroma of food spread throughout her home and seeped into her bedroom. The scent nearly overtook me. It simply smelled amazing. "Never mind... What's for lunch?"
"I made you a bowl of soup with two toasted ham and cheese sandwiches while you were asleep... Go eat before it gets cold," she replied with a small smile. I leaned towards her and planted a soft kiss on her lips before getting up to follow her to the kitchen. Surprisingly, no one else seemed to be home.
"Where's your mom? And your brothers?"
"They went into town. I told my mom what happened with you last night, so she let me stay to take care of you... She left you a couple rolls of gauze in case you need it," Fluttershy giggled and grabbed my hand as she led me to the dining table. Once I sat down, she served the food for me and poured me a glass of orange juice.
While I began devouring the food, Fluttershy opened the microwave and took out a small bowl of salad and fruit with a plain glass of water as her lunch. "Vegetarian?"
"Kind of... I mostly eat salads and vegetables. Rarely, you'll see me eating me a cheeseburger and what not," she replied shyly. I smiled at her as we both sat together eating our food in silence, occasionally throwing a few loving stares at one another. When we had both finished, I offered to wash her dishes. Instead she just ordered me to place them in the sink.
"All right... So... Now what?" I asked groggily. Fluttershy gave me a sad look and averted her gaze to the table. She played with her fingers nervously before finally speaking up.
"I don't like conversations like these at all... But, I do know that it's necessary..." Immediately, I knew what she was referring to. I bit my lip anxiously, but knew that I wasn't going to be able to run away from problems again. Either way, this was a subject that needed to be discussed. I sighed and took a seat again on the same chair.
"Well... As you may already have guessed - Gilda is my ex girlfriend... She wasn't the best relationship - in fact, she was the last relationship I had up until I met you. You see... While we were dating, I constantly felt trapped throughout the entire ordeal," I said quietly and clenched my jaw. Fluttershy nodded and lightly stroked my hand in reassurance.
"At some point, she tried to take me away from my own best friends and dragged me down her path. I started skipping school more often, drugs became a normal routine, and neglecting my own group of friends became an everyday thing because of her. Pretty soon, the situation grew worse, and she became... Possessive. Abusive. I shut myself out from everyone - including my own little sister... She was so scared...
"Not only that, but she was already dealing with my abusive father. Half the time, I was at Gilda's house getting high instead of protecting Scootaloo like I'm supposed to. Her only escape was at Sweet Apple Acres with Apple Bloom. Rarity, Twilight, AJ, and Pinkie were worried about me since I stopped showing up to school. Scootaloo was miserable, and once I decided to end the relationship... All Hell broke loose," I continued with a hard swallow.
"What happened?" Fluttershy asked timidly. I cleared my throat and let out a shaky breath as I tried hard to suppress the tears.
"Well... Gilda beat me up at her home since I had to go there to end it. The following morning at school, Gilda had begun spreading rumors about my friends and convinced everyone that I was the one who started the trouble. Because of that, my own friends began questioning me and even doubting me up until they finally saw the bruises all over me. Then that's when Gilda's true colors were revealed to the entire school, and she became known as 'Gilda the Abuser.' All the negative attention got to her, and she transferred schools...
"Since then, it had been so much more peaceful until now... My guess is that she's trying to get revenge on me now because of it all. I wouldn't blame her though... I just wish she realized that she's already got her vengeance by causing all this trauma on me. Guess it just wasn't enough for her," I finished. Fluttershy stared at me in disbelief, and I was afraid she didn't believe me at all.
"I understand if you don't believe me. But I swear, I'm telling the truth. You can ask -" I was cut off with a sudden and sweet kiss from my girlfriend. The contact lasted well over ten seconds before she finally pulled and rubbed my face.
"I do believe you... The same day she kissed you, a friend of yours named, Coco Pommel, explained to me that you would never do that to me. That you're too loyal. Something wanted me to believe her, and I'm glad I did. Imagine if I hadn't..." Fluttershy grew silent as a few small tears threatened to fall from her beautiful teal eyes.
"Heh... I don't even want to imagine that..."
"Neither do I..."
