Rainbow Dash's POV

For the next couple hours were spent just talking to Fluttershy, making sure that everything was going to be okay. I was still in complete shock that she had to go through something that terrible in the past – and still to this day. When I questioned why I haven't seen her father during my stay here, she explained to me that he was away for a full month.

I was glad, but at the same time I was worried that Fluttershy may not even be able to come to the Nightmare Night party with our friends after all... Well... Hopefully her dad would be back to Ponyville much later... Wait a minute... What would happen if he found out about our relationship?

"U-Um, Fluttersh –" I was cut off by the sound of her bedroom door bursting open, causing the both of us to jump in our seats. At the door was Fluttershy's one and only, mother.

"Oh... Hello! I'm sorry, I should've knocked... Anyways, hello again, Rainbow," She waved over at me and I smiled in return.

"Hey, Ms. Forrest... How have you been?" I asked, trying my best not to be as awkward as last time. Shy's mom had her silvery pink hair tied up in a very messy bun, and wore what seemed to be a doctor's uniform. She had on some black framed glasses – behind them were teal irises glowing with joy. The woman laughed and removed her glasses.

"I'm doing great, thank you! Now... Speaking of how we've all been... How's Angel doing? Have you tucked him in yet, Shy?" She leaned against the now open door, and Fluttershy scooted forward, away from me. I felt pretty down about it, but then I remembered she hadn't told her mom about our relationship yet. But then again, I promised I'd give her enough time to confide to her mother about it all.

"Yeah, and Dashie helped me give him the medicine and what not... We've mostly just been talking for a while now –"

"And making pillow forts from what I just saw right now... You know, for a second I thought our couch was robbed of its cushions again... But then I remembered you guys were going to be here..." She laughed some more and paused briefly before speaking up again, "Rainbow, do your parents know you're still here? It's already getting close to midnight."

"Wait, seriously?! Crap..." I pulled out my cell phone from my pocket hurriedly and saw that it was exactly eleven fifty-one, "Looks like I overstayed my visit, huh?"

The three of us laughed for a bit, until Fluttershy's mom had to go to bed already. We exchanged our goodnight's and finally she was out of the room, leaving Fluttershy and I in the room. For a moment it was complete silence before I cleared my throat, "I'll see you tomorrow morning, okay? I'll pick you up, same time."

A blush formed on Fluttershy's cheeks as we soon got out from under our pillow masterpiece. As soon as we stood up, I stretched for a few seconds right before grabbing Fluttershy by her waist and pulling her toward me. The action surprised her, but she soon draped her arms around my neck, our foreheads resting against one another gently.

"... I don't want you to leave," She said suddenly in a hushed voice. I let out a short sigh then pressed my lips against hers as gently as possible, as if she were a delicate piece of artwork in a museum. Our kiss lasted for a few seconds until we both broke away, smiling like absolute idiots. Shy giggled and buried her face in the crook of my neck as I quickly wrapped my arms around her waist tightly. Leaving her is the last thing I wanted to do, but I had to...

"I have to... My dad will get pissed... I'll take you out to Joe's Doughnut Shop tomorrow morning before school. Okay?" I flashed a smile at her, which she gladly returned and pecked my lips once more.

"Okay, Dashie... I'll walk you to the door." We kissed once more, and she held my hand during our walk to the front door of her home. I retrieved my backpack from the living room floor and slung it over my shoulder as we stepped out.

"Goodnight, Flutters..." I leaned forward and kissed her forehead softly. Both of us blushed in response, and I finally turned away to walk to my car. I threw my bag into the passenger seat, and after doing so, I unlocked the vehicle and got inside and started up the engine of the car. Before I knew it, I was off down the road of her neighborhood.

It wasn't long before I finally reached my home. After turning off my car, I grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulder and locked it. However, when I looked up to see the driveway, I noticed my dad's pickup truck parked crookedly near my motorcycle. I was frozen on the spot. Why is here so early? I slowly reached into my pocket to take out the house keys... And then I heard it. The shrieks.

"SCOOTALOO!" I bolted straight towards the front door, and unlocked it as quickly as I could. Once the door was open, I slammed it shut and threw my belongings to the floor and followed the screams upstairs. My feet stomped on every two steps of the staircase and before I knew it, I found myself standing directly in front of Scootaloo's bedroom.

"Scootaloo?!" Her screams were never ending, and when I tried to open the door, the doorknob was locked from the inside. Shit.

"R-Rainbow D-Dash... Help!" I backed up from where I stood, and hit my shoulder against her door. It shook for a split second, and I backed up a bit further the second time and hurled myself toward it. Just like that, the door burst open and what my eyes witnessed made my blood boil almost immediately.

An empty brown beer bottle was thrown on the carpeted surface of my little sister's room, its contents spilled out onto the grey carpet. My sister was being held down on her bed by my father. She continued screaming, begging to be let go of until my dad struck the side of her face. The drunk bastard tore off her shirt and at that moment, I knew what he was trying to do.

I lunged myself at him, and grabbed him by his shoulders and threw him to the ground. His spiky blue hair was an absolute mess, and his eyes were slightly bloodshot and puffy. The longer I stared into his eyes, the longer I realized how much agony he put on my sister and I for nearly a decade. It was at this moment, that I didn't hold back. I was done.

My right fist collided with the side of his jaw, and then moved up to the center of his face. I wasn't sure how many times I punched him, everything just went silent. My heart pulsed rapidly and was clear enough to hear as if it was being held directly near my eardrums. My vision went red, and I clenched my jaw as punch after punch was being thrown – each punch more powerful than the last.

I felt his nose shatter beneath my knuckles, and blood flooded the man's mouth, dripping down to the carpet. My right hand clutched the collar of his shirt, and I continued hitting him with my other hand.

"... You're the worst thing that's happened."

"No wonder she left!"

Those negative words were spoken by that venomous mouth of his in the past.

Tears pricked my eyes with each punch I threw. I released my grip on his collar and sent a very strong punch to his throat. But I wasn't done yet. No. Not now. Not ever. I raised my bloodied fist in the air and was about to strike him again until something crashed against the side of my head, causing me to fall over. The collision injured my cheek, and I could have sworn I saw glass fly past my eyes.

"Rainbow Dash! Stop!" Scootaloo. She held me down with all the strength she had in her. Her short purple hair was in its usual messy state, and her amethyst eyes were wet with salty tears. Upon further inspection, her face was cut and bruised. My eyes trailed down to her shoulders, and I noticed red hand prints circling her arms. "Stop! Please, stop..."

Her voice cracked and then the tears came spilling down like a waterfall. She brought her hands up to her face and began wiping away the tears. I sat up and quickly pulled her toward me and hugged her tightly. She shook as the sobs overtook her. I hadn't ever seen her cry this badly before...

"Sh... It's okay... It's okay... I'm here now." I rubbed her bare back in an up and down motion like I would usually do to calm her down. The tactic, however, didn't seem to work this time around. And it scared me. When I turned to the side, I noticed the same beer bottle as when I entered the room... Except it was now shattered into several large shards of glass. She must have hit me with that.

I glanced over to the man's unmoving body, and for a second I was afraid I killed him... That was until I saw the slow rising of his chest. I sighed in relief and rested my head on my sister's shoulder. A few seconds later, the pain began to kick in, and I felt both of my fists burning along with the side of my face where Scootaloo struck me with the bottle.

"I d-d-don't want t-to s-sleep here... I c-can't... I r-really can't..." Her uncontrollable sobs continued, and I kissed the side of her head in an effort to calm her down.

"You can sleep with me tonight, okay? I'm going to call the cops. I've had enough of his bullshit... Go change into other clothes after you shower, okay? You smell like him," I stated, referring to the alcohol. Scootaloo slowly nodded and stood up and slowly walked out of the room, leaving me there on my knees staring directly at the man's unconscious body. My jaw tightened, but I reminded myself that Scootaloo wouldn't want me to hurt him further.

"Fucking asshole..." I muttered under my breath and pulled out my cell phone and dialed 9-1-1.

"9-1-1, what is your emergency?" The operator spoke and I swallowed hard.

"... My dad tried to rape my sister again... And... He's been abusing me and her for a while now –"

"Okay, ma'am... Please tell me your location."

"Y-Yeah... It's 325 Cloud Boulevard, here in Cloudsdale... Please hurry, I think he's going to wake up again soon," I stated, and noticed he was beginning to stir. There was a slight pause on the line and the lady finally spoke again.

"The police are on their way. Keep away from your father." I agreed and hung up the phone.

I was now surrounded by dead silence, and the only thing I seemed to was remain in my place and simply keep watch on the man laying down in front of me. If I could, I would have grabbed a knife and cut open his throat... Too bad that wasn't an option.

The silence continued to reign, until I heard the water begin to run signaling that Scoots was taking a shower now. There were suddenly loud knocks on the front door which startled me. I quickly stood up and remained at the entrance of my sister's bedroom. The front door finally opened and the policemen were finally inside.

"Hello?!" They shouted out, and I responded by yelling back in return.

"He's here on the second floor!" I stepped away and leaned against the wall, looking straight at the room where he lay. The three officers finally came and I simply pointed a finger toward the man. Two of the men ran inside and flipped him over to cuff him while the third grabbed hold of my arm and took me to another room.

"Can you tell me what happened?" He asked with a slightly high-pitched voice. I looked at the officer and noticed he had a puffy brown moustache with eyes as blue as the sky. He had on a brown police uniform and noticed the gold nametag attached to the front of his shirt, which read "SHERIFF SILVERSTAR".

"... You're going to have to ask my sister... I arrived home right before he tried to do it... She's taking a shower right now, but you can wait downstairs in the kitchen if you'd like," I said to him. His eyes focused on my face, and I knew he was staring at the open wound on my cheek.

"Sure... But you should get that washed and bandaged up in the meantime," He pointed at the wound and chuckled under his breath as he began making his way downstairs. A short moment later, the other two officers emerged with their hands on the man's arms as they forcefully made him walk down the hallway. Once they were downstairs, I began walking down the hall and stopped in front of the door to the bathroom and knocked a couple times.

"Yeah?" Scootaloo answered, and her voice sounded coarse from all the yelling and crying...

"Can I come in?" There wasn't a response for about a minute until the door finally opened, and I was face-to-face with Scootaloo. She was just an inch shorter than I was, and her hair was slightly dry. She now had on an orange muscle shirt with a pair of red and black pajama shorts. Her eyes were still puffy from earlier, and she simply remained at the doorway as I walked inside the bathroom.

I looked up to see my reflection, and noticed that my face was indeed bruised. My eyes were similar to Scootaloo's, and I glanced down to the large gash on my cheek. Damn...

After scrubbing off the dry blood and cut with soap and water, I dried it and grabbed a band-aid and placed directly over the wound. I then washed the large cuts on my fists and dried them with a blue hand towel. Afterwards, I looked through the medicine cabinet and pulled out a pair of small scissors and gauze.

I wrapped the white gauze around my knuckles and when I finished, I put them back inside the cabinet. Scootaloo and I both walked side-by-side each other very close together, and walked downstairs. The front door was now closed, and I could still see blue and red lights lighting up the front yard. I felt Scootaloo tense up near me and lightly punched her shoulder, "It's okay... He's gone."

Scootaloo and I both walked towards the kitchen where we found Sheriff Silverstar patiently sitting on one of the barstools. When he saw us, he gestured for us to take a seat beside him. We were both hesitant, but we knew he just wanted to get some information. After sitting down, he pointed a finger at Scootaloo.

"Your older sister told me that she arrived just before your father tried to rape you... Can you tell me what happened before she got home?" He asked, and I could hear a country like accent in his voice the more he spoke. Scootaloo shifted uncomfortably.

"I was home alone as usual, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I was on the phone with a friend of mine, and I heard the front door open. I thought it was my sister, so I went downstairs to meet her... But... It was my dad instead... He usually comes home drunk... And when he saw me... He tried to grab me... But I ran upstairs to my room, but he eventually caught up with me and grabbed me...

"H-He... He kept saying mean things to me... And then he just tried pinning me to the wall, but I tried to fight him, but he was a lot stronger than I was... He pushed me on my bed, and then he just tore my shirt off... That's when Rainbow Dash came in and started punching him over and over again... She just kept going and going, I thought she was going to kill him, so I hit her with the beer bottle my dad had... That's how she got that cut on her face," Scootaloo pointed at my face, and Silverstar simply nodded slowly.

"All I was doing was protecting my sister... He's been abusing us for several years now... We just never confessed this in fear of what he would do to us," I admitted, looking down shamefully. There was a long pause, and finally Silverstar spoke up once more.

"Well, it's a good thing you finally called. He'll be in jail for a long time, I'll tell you that. He won't be able to hurt you two again," Scootaloo and I smiled for the first time in a long while. Silverstar grinned at us then got up from the stool and gave each of us a handshake before finally exiting our home. The front door finally shut, and it was just me and Scootaloo... We were free.

Everything's going to be fine.
