{epilogue}

Hermione was extremely excited to come home to Severus that evening, his presence at the Ministry for so long very odd and very annoying. She had good news to share with him, and while for many they would be... on the fence about how they should feel, for Hermione, she had never been more excited.

Severus had gone that day to certify a few of his potions. He hadn't even brought a large load, yet it seemed that the Ministry was doing what it did best. Which, of course, was stalling.

She paced through the house, ignoring the thoughts in her head that told her her excitement was not warranted. She thought differently.

Twenty years behind her, and Hermione was ecstatic.

Jumping from the sofa when Severus finally arrived home, she was startled to see him almost mirroring her excitement.

"How was your day? And what took so long?" She teased, taking him into the hug he offered, pleasantly accepting the kiss as well.

"I got something for you," he informed her, stepping back slightly, her in one arm and the other hand reaching for something in one of his robe pockets. "Here."

A small glass bottle was in her hands, a tiny piece of parchment encased within it below a cork stopper.

"And what is it?"

Severus only huffed at her dumbfounded look. For a moment, she complete forgot her own good news.

"A bonding spell. Well, one specific to us, anyways. I want to finally marry you, Hermione, I don't want to wait any longer."

Her heart began to throb through her chest, "You mean that? But what about our friends, and my parents... and-"

"Hermione," he said matter-of-factly, "We've been together for years now... If it hadn't been for the fact that time had to catch up, I would have wed you years ago. If you want a muggle ceremony, fine, but I can't stand our magic being separated any longer. We're stronger together, and I love you."

She could have melted.

"I love you, too, Severus. And... don't we need someone to marry us?"

"We know more than enough people willing to do it, but I wanted to let you choose. It simply has to be someone powerful," he said with a wink.

"Lily."

There was no question on if he agreed with her or not because he smiled that smile which brought her down, and she couldn't have helped but think that she would have let anyone marry her to this man at that moment.

"I'll ring her."

He gestured towards the phone, and Hermione squealed with excitement as she headed towards the telephone, but stopped dead in her tracks.

"I had something to tell you," she informed him loudly, smiling brightly.

"Go on, then. Though, I doubt you could top that," he reminded her, pointing to the glass in her hand.

"I can try," Hermione teased. "I'm pregnant."

"Blimey."

She giggled, feeling all the school girl she should, yet there were almost forty years she'd lived through, it was time for a child in her books.

"Aren't you happy?"

"Happy?" Severus echoed, and for a split second Hermione couldn't tell how he felt. To be fair, it only had been a few weeks since she'd gotten all of her new memories, and even less time since they'd sat down and told everyone. Maybe it was moving fast, but there was nothing they could do about it now.

Of course, he did not stay catatonic for long. Severus ran towards her, embracing her with what seemed like great delight. She reveled in the embrace and laughed at him as he knelt down and kissed her stomach, standing back up with a huge grin. And to think she would have been terrified of such a smile where she originally came from.

"Call!" He reminded her, pointing at the receiver, "Now we have even more reason! Then you won't have as much trouble with everything seeing as we'll be sharing magic and strength."

She smiled, feeling that there had been no better choice for her than the man before her.

Hermione dialed Lily and told her everything, happy to find out that she'd drop everything to come over in the next few minutes.

She rejoined a glowing Severus who beamed up at her. It was nearly scary to see him so happy. Part of her remembered him as the brooding professor and the other as a scarcely seen attraction... and then the last part as her life-long partner.

"I see it did not take long for time to restart your clock," he motioned to her stomach.

"Yes, well, I was merely lucky to have had over twenty years of absolutely no activity down there. And then when nothing happened still I realized I had a spell to perform. And of course here we are."

She grinned.

"You're barmy, Hermione. Though, we should be more careful after this one. If you get pregnant at first try then we don't want thirty little rascals around here now, do we?"

Shaking her head profusely, Hermione took Severus' hand and leaned into him on the sofa.

"No worries. We'll be more careful from now on, sure. I want to go to a muggle doctor, though, if that's alright. We can get pictures and things like that to keep."

"So I have to wear muggle clothes is what I am hearing?" He replied, his face displeased.

"You can leave behind your robes for two minutes to hear a heartbeat and see the baby, Severus. I have no doubt that you will live. And besides," she lowered her voice and dipped closer to him, "I can't resist you in a suit."

"Good," he growled, pulling her in for a kiss, both parties ignoring the roar of the fire.

"I could always leave instead of do the favor I came to perform?" Lily said, Hermione pulling back with a blush.

"Sorry."

"Mhm," she replied, looking at both of them with an age Hermione had never seen on her in her first time around. Voldemort had ended her life so early, and the effects of time were different.

Besides that, she looked far more like a mother than ever before, and if it hadn't been for knowing her for twenty years, Hermione was sure Lily would not have been okay with their affair.

"So.. about that favor," Lily said carefully, looking at the two of them with a glint in her eyes that she could only have learned from her husband. It was something James gave people when he was hiding a prank.

"Do not delay us, Lily," Severus said in a warning tone. His arm slipped more around Hermione, and she smiled at her wizard.

"Oh, just a small delay. You can't do this alone! Everyone should be there. I mean, Harry would be heartbroken, Hermione! And Severus, you know the boys wouldn't ever let you hear the end of it!"

"They can come to the muggle ceremony... besides, we kind of want to get it over with," Hermione said cautiously, and by the look Severus gave her, he knew where she was headed with this. "Besides the fact that we've been together for so long... I'm also pregnant!"

"I'm not surprised."

Hermione snorted and Severus rolled his eyes at the response. Of course she wasn't!

"Oh!" Lily said suddenly, "Congratulations! I'm so happy for you two, though it will look odd to most. Everything going so fast. At least those who matter know the truth."

"That is the only thing that matters to us," Severus replied kindly, then stood, "Now marry us?"

"No!" She responded, and Hermione shook her head watching the power battle before her, "Just a week, she won't blow up that quickly! I just want the people who matter to be close by! A magical bonding is something very special!"

Before Severus could demand she do it yet again, Hermione stood and took his hand, everyone turning their attention to her, "When we have a muggle ceremony everyone and their brother will be invited. For now, though... we just want it done."

"We've waited twenty years, Lily."

She inhaled deeply, looking pestered at the two of them, "Oh fine! You two are incorrigible."

Hermione squealed excitedly, jumping at her friend, someone who at this point, she'd known longer than Harry if she only included her original memories.

"Come love, she must live if the spell is to be performed," Severus said silkily, gently taking Hermione from the embrace.

In no time, Hermione and Severus were joined in their magic by the bonding spell, and Lily was gone to give the lovebirds some time alone... not that she didn't think they'd had enough already. But they had a wedding to plan!

-

Hermione stood across from Severus, smiling widely at him. Hundreds of eyes were on them, but neither one could seem to focus on anything else.

"Do you, Severus Snape, take Hermione Granger to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do," he said warmly, squeezing her hands gently.

"And do you, Hermione Granger, take Severus Snape to be you lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do," she replied to the minister softly, hardly even hearing him as they pronounced them official husband and wife, his lips on hers possessively as their friends and family cheered them on.

A small hand tugged at Hermione's dress, and she broke from Severus, picking the small little girl up.

"Hi darling, are you happy for mommy and papa?"

The little girl in Hermione's arms nodded, her smile wide and completely charming.

She looked over at her husband, now official in legal terms, and winked, offering her other hand, propping their daughter up on her hip.

"I love you Hermione," he told her loudly through all the clapping as they walked back down the aisles of people.

"I love you too, Severus."

How her life had gotten to such a happy point, Hermione truly had no idea. They had never found out who cursed her back in time, or who was responsible for the spell. While she and everyone had tried to figure it out... they weren't entirely mad at them. In fact, she might have thanked whoever it was if they'd ever found them, for Hermione thought she'd gotten the better end of the deal.

At the end of the evening, when the party was over and everyone had gone home, Charlotte being taken by her grandparents for the night, Severus kissed Hermione happily, their evening coming to a close.

"You know... we've done very well with Charlotte... I think I'd like another."

Hermione only laughed in response, "Another what? Child? Isn't one enough?"

She pressed her nose against his, kissing him before he could reply. This did not stop him, however.

"Yes, I suppose that is what I am asking for. I am certainly not demanding that we have another Charlotte. She is already too smart for her own good."

"Look at her parents."

Severus shook his head, "She is unbelievable. Though, I never thought I would be capable of adoring someone as much as I do her."

"Not even your wife?" Hermione teased.

"Well, wife, I do think that since you are apart of her, your answer is given in my original statement."

Hermione only chuckled, moaning slightly as he grabbed her waist and pulled her onto him.

"You know," he said quietly as they kissed gently, "I would have certainly loved having you attempt to attain me, and I fall in love with you again... but I am thankful that I did not have to do such a thing."

"And I am glad I did not put you through such a thing," she replied truthfully, "Besides, we made enough of a mess already, like a love boat through time."

Obviously Hermione was more amused than Severus was as she was practically thrown off of him, both laughing joyously.

"You mean a time boat?" He suggested unsuccessfully.

"Time machine of love," Hermione tried, but laughed further as he attempted to shut her up, eventually persuading her to his whims.

Oh how things had truly worked out well for them.

The End

A/N

I hope you all enjoyed this!!! I will be taking a break in the future until I come up with a worthy idea for a book, but look out for some one-shots that will be coming around sooner rather than later!

But I did have one question I would like to ask which is should I stick to magic for the next book or should I go all out for a non-magic au? Up to you guys.

See you on the next one!
