Hermione awoke the next morning, her head fuzzy and body tried. Everything felt heavy as she rolled over, looking at the familiar ceiling.

She knew where she was... she knew exactly where she was.

Sitting up quickly, Hermione smiled broadly, a load of other thoughts assaulting her. She remembered her parents, and they remembered her, and she had so many friends! Harry, Ron, Ginny, Neville, Luna, and unfamiliar names or what used to be unfriendly faces such as Draco and Pansy.

The classes over the years, and her escapades of getting into so much trouble that she hadn't ever got caught for... all the eye-brow raising memories she found with boys hidden away as bashful memories.

There was one thing stuck in her brain, however, which made her laugh out loud. She was alone in the bed, she noticed dimly, so Severus must have been downstairs. He certainly must have heard her, and she let herself continue to laugh as he came up the stairs, running by the sound of it.

"Hermione?" He opened the door without hesitation, looking at her hopefully.

"Come here, I remember everything!"

Relief had never been so apparent as Severus rushed at her, seizing her in a kiss and joining her on the bed. A part of her shivered delightfully, blushing all the while.

"You'll never believe what I just found out."

He sorted himself out before encouraging her to go on.

"And this is?"

"Apparently," she said with a giggle, "You really have caught my eye over the years, Severus. When you came to graduation, I set my sights on you. There's this promise in here that says I would do whatever it took to have you."

She could no longer control her laughter as she dissolved into giggles, Severus seeming rather unamused.

"So... I would have had a chance even if you weren't... as you are now?"

She nodded, her laughs remaining unchecked as he began to show the signs of a smile.

"Well, you seem to have rather wonderful taste, then."

This did not help her laughing situation, but the sudden onslaught of lips certainly did.

Some while later they were laying on the bed, simply enjoying one-another's presence until Severus looked at Hermione with curious eyes.

"Tell me about yourself," he commanded softly, "If we're going to do this properly now, I want to know it all."

"Which 'all' do you want?"

He chuckled, "I got most of the other one... I want the new one. I know so little because I tried to keep my distance."

"Thank Merlin you did. Now there won't be any problem. I've seen you at the Ministry a few times... we'll pull something together for how we ended up like this," Hermione said, motioning to their plethora of covers keeping what little modesty they had in check.

Severus hummed as he pulled her closer, placing a kiss to her forehead indicating she should start with her tale.

"Well, I grew up almost the exact same way I did the first time, I don't think there were many differences... but when I got to Hogwarts... it was all different. There was no helping Neville find his toad, it was moreover almost getting bowled over by Harry and Ron as they raced down the cart attempting to find Neville, and then they asked me to join..." Hermione smiled like a giddy child, remembering something that made her so very happy. "First year was great, no you as a moody professor, Remus was a fantastic one, though occasionally absent. Nothing odd but such good friendships and times until fourth year when the whole Tri-Wizard thing happened. Gods, I missed out on so much having to deal with all those horcruxes and such...

"Fifth year I had the largest crush on Ron, but that went away, I suppose, a lot sooner than it did before. Then I liked Harry for a blip of a moment before I realized he was arse over tits for Malfoy. Oh, dear Merlin," she said suddenly, "Seventh year, part two, and my relationship with..."

"Mhm, maybe don't clue me into everything, I have only ever loved you," Severus replied with a slight chuckle, "I don't need details."

Hermione only shook her head, everything between them feeling new and old all at the same time. It was like she suddenly had two personalities to juggle with, but neither were on the same page.

It was a few days later when everyone was available to get together, and it was almost as nerve-wracking as the night she'd talked about being from the future... and a girl.

Lily and James were told to make sure Harry and his sister were briefed, along with Ron considering he was at the Potter's quite often.

They were met at the door but Harry who looked very confused. All of eighteen, and every inch the adult Hermione remembered him to be. She really had missed him, and the part of her that hadn't spent the last seven years with him leaped forward to embrace him.

"Wotcher, Mione."

"Hey," she replied, attempting to act calm, but holding him tight. "I have some news for you."

"Mum said," Harry replied casually, looking behind her and smiling brightly, "Hey Uncle Sev! You got here the same time as Hermione?"

"I suppose I did," Severus said cheekily, and Hermione could only hold back a laugh. Harry was so oblivious, apparently some things really didn't change.

They waded through the crowd and Hermione took one of her sparse views of Cassidy that she'd ever had. The younger Potter had been a baby when Hermione had seen her frequently, and now she was partially stunned to see her, and yet there were so many memories of interactions and study sessions... she just had to play it cool.

"So, why are we here again?" Ron wondered from over his girlfriend, his hand on her shoulder attempting to avoid the terribly hard glances he was getting from Severus and James alike. Ron had been very protective over Hermione being her best friend, and well... he'd get his chance to glare back at Severus very soon.

"I have something important to announce."

"Do tell," Remus winked, his arm around Sirius' waist, a coy smile as though he knew everything there.

"Obviously, as the lot of you know," Hermione ignored her younger friends for a moment, "Everything is fine, I remember... everything."

"Brilliant, but clue the youngsters in," James said, looking at his children with an affectionate smile.

"Harry, Ron, Cassidy... I know you guys have known me since Hogwarts... but before then... I lived a completely different life up until this point."

Harry and Ron looked quite confused, but Cassidy did not.

"You've traveled in time."

"Not just traveled... I've changed it. Originally, there was a whole war we had to fight, and it was quite terrible. You see, Harry didn't have his parents... nor did he have you. He had a muggle upbringing like me, and over the years the man who created the first war on muggle blood, Voldemort, terrorized you, Harry. But after it was all over, and we'd fought the war and won... I went back to finish school and got transported back in time with your parents where I subsequently changed history to what it is today... and fell in love with Severus all the while."

"So you're not our Hermione?" Ron wondered briefly, though he did look very horrified at the idea that Severus, who was sitting on her left against the crowd of onlookers, was with her.

"I am," she assured them quickly, "I'm just... also the other Hermione... and the one your parents have known since their seventh year."

"Bollocks," Harry said, "And I was hoping you would have forgotten that time when you walked in-"

"Harry James Potter I do not want to hear it!" James scolded his son who only laughed.

"But you're... with my godfather then?"

Hermione looked at Cassidy confidently, "Yes."

"The other you must be very excited then?" Harry chirped, not willing to give up the dig he was able to offer up.

"Shut it."

He held up his hands in surrender, looking at Ron who only looked more confused. She'd briefly forgotten that Harry had been the only one who she had told about her hops for Severus who had suddenly moved closer to her and put his arm confidently

"Wait," Harry said suddenly, "So there's been two of you around this whole time?"

"Yeah, I didn't come around for obvious reasons..." Hermione watched as gears started to turn in Harry's brain, his forehead crinkling.

"Florizel. He used to come with Severus all the time and-" Harry stopped suddenly and Hermione began to panic which only seemed to give the boy his answer, "You're Florizel!"

"No," she tried to say, but Harry did not seem sated.

"You're Florizel! That makes so much sense, I mean, I saw the two of you for years, and when I went to Hogwarts Florizel stopped coming around which I get. And you were both... touchy."

Severus must have quelled Harry, for he sank into his seat in defeat.

Sirius let out an exuberant laugh, "Good on you, mate. I mean, I saw Remus here kiss Hermione in the halls and I didn't figure it out."

Remus nudged him in the side, everyone else looking at Sirius incredulously.

"We never told them that they fancied one another, mate," James informed his best friend meekly, the grin on his face undeniably amused.

Lily broke first, laughing fully at the terrified look in her son's eyes, Hermione next, Remus and Severus joining in as well. Everyone else just looked uncomfortable.

"Well this has been interesting," Cassidy said pointedly, wiggling around in Ron's grip. He seemed as uncomfortable as he had been before, but now it was only awkward and all Ron.

Hermione had no part of her that mourned whatever relationship she'd had with Ron. Luckily enough, he seemed so very happy, as did Harry. Her heart had been doubly set on Severus, and it was a wonderful thing to know that eventually, even if she hadn't remembered, she would have found her way back to him, and hopefully he would have kept his heart open. Even if she hadn't been the woman who he'd spent twenty years with... he could have loved the other her, and she knew that.

Severus looked at her happily, so in his element that she couldn't help but give him the blissful look in return.

They spent the rest of the evening chatting happily among themselves, Hermione happy to finally know that her future with Severus was secure and more than just his reassurances that everything would be alright. Well... at least he'd been right about that.
