Chapter 2: The Clue

(Luci's view)

I sat in the compartment near the back of the train when the door opened and I felt a light pressure on my cheek before looking up at my best friend who smiled back at me.

"Good to see you, Luce." Michael said as he and Anwyll sat down on either side of me.

"How have you been?" Anwyll asked as he scooted closer to me.

"I've been fine." I said, and Michael frowned in concern.

"Is something wrong?" he asked while wrapping an arm around me.

"It's my godfather, he's fallen ill with something and we don't know what it is." I said as tears formed in my eyes and Michael kissed the top of my head.

"We'll help you save him, don't worry." Anwyll said as he and Michael rested their heads on my shoulder.

"Hey, what's that thing by your foot?" he asked, and the three of us looked down at the small object which I picked up.

"That's weird, it looks like a small diamond." I said before handing it to Michael who held it up to the light.

"It looks like it's almost translucent, that's very strange." he said before handing it to Anwyll who looked at it curiously before passing it back to me.

"We'll help you investigate," he said as he smiled shyly at me before leaning in and pressing a light kiss to my nose.

"What's that?" Michael asked as I held up a packet of parchment.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." I said, as I tapped it with my wand and it turned into a map.

"Whoa," the three of us whispered as we looked down at the map in my hands before looking back up each other with a bright grin. "Wicked," Michael said as we all looked at the map again before grabbing a section of the map and starting to plan.
