017. A Dance With Her

The most awaited and dreadful event of the year had finally arrived, the day of the Miss Hawkins' Ball.
The pressure was on everyone to be perfect, especially on Gwen since she needed to win this for her mother to make her proud. Not that it'd be easy since Nancy is the daughter of one of the winners so it's not like she can do much about the built in legacy.
"Hold your breath and suck it in," Claudia ordered while tightening the unnecessary corset on her daughter as tightly as possible.
"Why are corsets still a thing? It's not like we live in regency times," Gwen complained, gasping from how much tighter it got, "Mom, I need to breathe!"
"I know, I'm sorry, but the dress code demands for all girls to wear this," she told her, "I'm so glad I didn't have to wear it."
"How lucky were you," she sarcastically said while getting inside her light blue dress with crystals reaching from her chest down to her waist. She wasn't a big fan of formal gowns, but she was surprised at how drawn she was to this particular one.
Claudia stood back and watched her daughter with admiration, "You look so beautiful, Gwenie." Now tearing up, she pulled her daughter in for a hug, who was feeling extremely uncomfortable from the corset.
She tried taking a step forward, but with every movement and every time she breathed, she felt the garment pressing against her ribs rather too painfully, "I can't do this." Ignoring her mother's pleas, she began removing her dress and unlatching herself from the confinement. "If I'm going to be dancing in this, then I might as well be comfortable."
"What about the dress code?"
"Screw the dress code." Now getting back into her dress, she took a breath of relief on feeling less suffocated, "Much better."
"Can you hurry up?! I'm getting bored just waiting here!" Dustin exclaimed from the living room after waiting for nearly an hour, "You need to make haste if you want to get there on time!"
The door flew open, revealing his sister who had a disgruntled frown. His mouth hung wide open on seeing his sister incredibly glammed up. He wanted to offer some teasing, but he was unable to from how great she looks.
He was about to offer a compliment when she warned him, "If you say a single word, you're done for." She picked up her dress to refrain from stepping on it and started heading out the door, "Let's just get this over with."
Her mother followed behind as she grabbed the rest of her belongings and hauled over to the car. Dustin picked up the camera and took lots of pictures knowing this is a very rare occurrence that needed to be documented.
"What did I say?" she complained.
"I didn't say anything!" he argued while getting into the car.
Gwen rolled her eyes and tried drowning out her mother's excited squeals by turning the radio's volume up as much as possible. She couldn't even imagine how much more irritable she'd be if she was wearing the corset. Taking it off was definitely the right thing to do.
It was quite the sight seeing the entire neighborhood rushing to get into their cars and head over to the Town Hall - where the ball was taking place. She didn't want to admit how nerve wracking it was to have to dance her absolute best in front of everyone, and now that she's seeing the entire neighborhood heading there, her nerves are starting to get the better of her.
It sure doesn't help that her partner is the insufferable Billy. Seeing as she was unable to find an escort and none of the other guys wanted to subject themselves to this dance, Billy took advantage of her situation out of his claims of being regretful for hurting her. Simply doing it out of the "kindness" of his heart.
"You see?! I told you that you should've hurried!"
"First time you're right and you can't let it go," she remarked while rolling her eyes once more.
Dustin scoffed, "I'm always right."
"Oh enough with you two!" Claudia exclaimed, catching the siblings by surprise from never having heard her raise her voice. "This is Gwen's big day so I expect you to be on your best behavior, Dusty."
"I haven't done anything! She's the one that keeps snapping at me!"
"Dustin Henderson!"
That seemed to shut him up. Using his full name is a clear indication of a bomb about to explode. He sunk deep into his seat and pouted with his arms crossed while glaring at Gwen, who smiled teasingly at him.
Claudia's serious grimace disappeared once a wide smile took over, "Now, Gwenie. Show me your best smile."
She turned to her mother with nothing but a poker face, "No."
"As long as you smile at the ball, then I'm all good," her overbearing mother said.
Gwen sighed, more out of frustration than nerves. She leaned her head back as she was seriously regretting agreeing to this mess, but hey, it's the most normal thing she's done in these past few months.
And she needed normal. Normal is good. Normal is perfect.
So if competing for the Miss Hawkins' title is what needs to be done, then so be it.
But as much as she tried to concentrate on this goal, her mind kept returning to her decision to move to New York. She'd be a complete idiot if she turned down a full ride to NYU, even if it meant staying near the person she loves.
"Gwen," her mother called out, "We're here. Let's go."
The town hall was extremely crowded to the point the main entrance couldn't be seen. Who would have thought a silly thing like a ball would bring every family in town to gather?
With only 15 minutes left until the introduction begins, they pushed through the crowd while holding her dress' ends to make sure no one steps over it.
Inside the hall, every girl was being attended by their mothers who offered some nice words of encouragement, or at least that's what it seemed.
"We'll see you out there, honey. We wish you the best of luck," Claudia embraced her tightly before heading to the ballroom area. Only Gwen and Dustin were left as they stood in front of each other with frowns on their faces.
"Aren't you going to wish me luck?" she asked.
"Like you need it," he smiled as they leaned forward for a hug, "I haven't seen the other girls, but I just know they got nothing on you. All of my money is on you."
She smiled as he walked away while giving her a thumbs up, "I sure hope you make more money than those two dollars you bet on."
"I'm about to become a millionaire before the night ends!"
It felt nice to have her brother's support, but that means there's even more pressure to win this. She took a deep breath and popped her knuckles as she made her way upstairs to join the rest of the girls.
"Gwen!" Nancy exclaimed, walking over to her friend and embracing her tightly, "You look amazing!"
"So do you!"
Nancy wore a puffy burgundy gown that matched her golden heels and jewelry.
"Can't believe we're actually doing this."
Gwen nodded, "Typical mothers living through their daughters."
Mayor Kline's wife, Winnie Kline, walked into the room with a clipboard in hand. She scanned through the long list of names before running by each of the girls.
"You look radiant, ladies!" she exclaimed and clapped lightly, "5 minutes until we begin so get into places!"
"I guess I'll see you down there," Nancy gave her light squeeze on her shoulder before taking her place at the back of the line.
Since the contestants are announced in alphabetical order, Gwen had the misfortune of standing next to Natalia, who was trying her best to ignore Gwen, but just standing next to her made her blood boil as she remembered their fight like it was yesterday.
Natalia glanced at her sideways, loving her dress but wouldn't dare compliment it, "So..."
"Fuck off," Gwen remarked, refusing to tolerate anymore bitchy behavior from wanting to focus on winning this.
"I didn't say anything," Natalia mumbled.
"Yeah but you were going to say something stupid."
Natalia knew better than to respond back, considering she lost the fight terribly and refused to get any more bruises on her face.
"I love your dress," she simply said, "Hate you though."
Gwen's eyes widened at the small compliment, wondering if all the hits received were able to get her terrible personality out of her. Was she actually trying to be nice?
"Umm, thanks."
She scoffed, "You could say you love my dress."
Gwen took a quick look at her dress which was a dark green color and off the shoulder. It was actually her second choice which made it easy to say the truth. "Well I do like your dress," she said, "Hate you as well."
Not a word was exchanged after. They remained quiet while waiting for the event to start when Winnie Kline began announcing the participants and their escorts, "Chrissy Cunningham, escorted by Jason Carver."
The crowd below clapped as Chrissy made her way down and headed into the next room, "Natalia Cortez, escorted by Steve Harrington."
Gwen let out a gruntled sound. Frowning on how ridiculous of a pair they've become considering that after the snow ball, she saw them at Moon's Diner on a date. It would've been better if he had chosen some other girl, but she was one hundred percent certain he only did it to spite her.
Another one of the miserable reasons on why she accepted being escorted by Hargrove. Knowing she came with the guy he despises most would surely cause him pure discontent.
Soon realizing she's next, she took a deep breath before looking back at Nancy who gave her a comforting smile and mouthed, You got this.
"Gwendolyn Henderson, escorted by William Hargrove."
Would it have killed her to just say Gwen?
She tried shaking off her nerves as the sudden fear of falling down the stairs began to fill her thoughts. One wrong step would certainly cost her the competition, and how will she be able to go through with the dance knowing she wrecked her chances? She'd be an absolute failure and a disappointment to her mother, who has done nothing but speak about this ball since she can remember.
Gwen started walking down, putting on her best smile as she kept thinking, Don't trip. Don't you dare trip.
Billy gave her that arrogant smile of his while fixing his bowtie and adjusting his tux. He offered his hand and gave a slight bow before saying, "You look hot."
It took everything not to ditch him right then and there, but this was just for today. After this, he'll be out of her life and won't have to worry about dealing with him anymore.
She harshly squeezed his hand, smirking when hearing his complaints on her hostile grip as they made their way into the ballroom.
The room was covered with twinkling lights dangling from every corner, illuminating the room along with the massive chandelier that hovered above the center of it. All the guests sat at round tables decorated with a white tablecloth that had roses as its centerpiece.
As Gwen arrived at her spot, which happened to be next to Steve and Natalia, Steve had grown mesmerized just seeing her. He was blown away at the beautiful sight that it was agonizing not being able to tell her. The color matched her perfectly, accentuating her skin tone and beautiful figure that brings out the vibrancy of her eyes that haven't been able to escape his innermost thoughts.
Gwen stood completely still, admiring him from the corner of her eye on how perfect he looks in a tux. He looks incredibly dashing and irresistible, which only makes this night even worse from not being able to be by his side.
Both Natalia and Billy noticed right away the glances exchanged. Slowly but surely, everything was starting to click that Natalia's supposed lies were nothing but true. Billy would never admit how bothered he was when realizing that Gwen would never look at him in the way she's seeing Steve. If anything, he's grasping to the idea that he was simply gazing at a fantasy.
Once the rest of the contestants settled into their spots, each of them turned to their partners as they waited for the music to start playing. With Natalia and Billy's back against each other, it allowed for Gwen and Steve to have a direct view of one another.
Without breaking their attention, their dances began. Their footsteps moved swiftly, following the rhythm of the melody as they feared one broken glance would distance them even more. With every spin, every touch, every step taken, they saw each other in their partners. Dreaming of all the possibilities that could become a reality if only they allowed it to occur.
For Steve, Gwen was his world. A world that was brought to him by the universe after years of living in complete darkness. She was the moon that illuminated his nights, the sun that peeked through the stormy clouds. She was his universe and his reason.
The minutes felt like an eternity as the song finally ended, freeing them from their partners as they received applause from the crowd. She searched for her family and friends, who had seated themselves at the same table. Sure they were squeezed, but they seemed ecstatic to be supporting their friends.
Mayor Kline stood up from his seat and walked to the center of the room with a microphone in hand, "What a lovely piece this was! Let's give one more round of applause for our participants!"
The crowd erupted in cheers once more, making this much more uncomfortable for Gwen, Nancy, and Jonathan. They searched for each other in the group, exchanging pleading looks on wishing for this to be over, but they have one more dance left until the winner is announced and they're able to just enjoy the rest of the night.
The good thing is that they have a short break where they could mingle with each other and converse with the committee if they wanted extra points. Gwen felt fairly grateful for everything her mother made her do. Volunteering everywhere she could certainly gave her enough points just like Claudia had promised, so speaking to the committee wasn't as necessary.
She abruptly let go of Billy's hand and parted ways, immediately heading to her friends while ignoring the piercing eyes of Steve on her.
Jonathan raised his glass of his lemonade at her, smiling when seeing her walk up to them, "You clean up nicely."
"Don't you start," she took the drink from his hand, drinking all of it in one gulp that only made her wish to be able to acquire a nice glass of champagne that only the committee and guests have.
"Remind me why you're here with Billy and not with Steve?" Nancy questioned as she searched for him in the crowd. She would never understand why the pair continued to try and deny their feelings when it's so obvious. Everyone around them can see it, so why can't they?
Gwen felt a sudden sadness overwhelm her from wishing it had been him instead, but she believed it to be better considering their last encounter, "Don't. Seriously."
The couple understood her demands, understanding how hard it must be to love someone and not be able to be with them. What they didn't comprehend is why it was so hard for them to allow each other to be happy?
"Nancy! Come speak to the committee!" Karen called over her daughter as she pushed through the contestants. She waved her hand frantically while trying to control the youngest Wheeler, who kept tugging at her dress as she demanded she wanted to leave already. "Come!"
"You're coming with me," Nancy tugged at Jonathan's arm, unwilling to face her mother and the rest of the committee by herself. "Will you be okay?"
Gwen nodded as she grabbed another glass, "I'll be just fine. Maybe I'll try to acquire some champagne."
"You better save us some," Jonathan told her as he started getting dragged away.
Gwen nodded and leaned back against the wall. She watched as everyone danced happily with their partner, laughing at whatever it is they're saying. Everyone seems content to be here and she should be as well, yet this is most miserable she's been.
"You seem like you're enjoying yourself," Billy walked up to her with that cocky smirk and of course, his usual toothpick had made its return.
"What do you want?"
It seemed that with every annoyed reaction, it thrilled him even more and made him determined to keep pursuing her. He smiled and reached for her hand, which she harshly shoved off before starting to walk past him.
"Let's get back together," he blurted out, making her freeze her tracks before turning to him in complete disbelief at his ridiculous suggestion.
"I'd rather die than be with you. Find someone else to have fun with," he took a quick grip of her arm, making her body tense from remembering the way he nearly strangled her. "Take your hand off me."
Surprisingly, he did as she asked while raising his hands in surrender. He removed his toothpick and placed his hands inside his pockets, "What can I do to make you forgive me?"
She smiled, more out of disgust and disdain, "You want forgiveness? Find religion and pray for it."
He laughed teasingly, leaning his head back as he ignored everyone's stares, "What else do you got?"
She began walking closer, leaning her head close to his as she whispered against his ear, "It seems you're underestimating my character. Not only did you attempt to strangle me, you also violently assaulted Steve even when he was unconscious. You're a complete piece of trash who I can drag to jail, because guess what? I'm good friends with the chief of police and with one word, you're locked up for good," she heard him swallow hard, causing her to smile as she continued, "Stay the hell away from me, my friends, and my family. And if I hear you keep terrorizing Max, you are so done for."
She faked a smile while leaning away as she tried getting everyone's attention off them, leaving nothing but a stunned Billy behind.
Refusing to let this go, he started complaining as he said, "You're forgetting we still need to dance together."
He just won't shut up, she thought.
"You say it as if I don't know." Now walking to the opposite side, she searched for those pair of eyes that had been consuming her mind for the entire night.
Steve was seated at the farthest table with Natalia and her family. She told him of her plans of going away for the summer to visit her cousins at the sunny beaches in California. All from needing to visit them before leaving for Brown in the fall.
Every word she said became nothing but faded as all he could concentrate on was appreciating Gwen's beauty and grace and her unbelievable sense of standing up for herself.
He'd nod every now and then while offering a few "Wows" and "Interesting," to keep up with the mask of being a compelled partner. He wasn't a religious person, but at this very moment he was praying for any interruptions.
Only it seemed his prayers were answered when she excused herself, leaving him alone with her mother who questioned him on how long they've been together.
"Our next dance will be starting shortly so contestants, make sure to get ready for the greatest dance of the night!" Mayor Kline announced, relieving Steve as he said his goodbyes and left the table.
Reluctantly, Gwen took her rightful spot while waiting for her partner to arrive, when she was surprised Billy whispered to her, "Don't ever say I never did anything nice for you."
"What?"
Natalia walked by with her hand locked with Billy's as she placed him in the spot Steve was supposed to stand in.
"Looks like I got a better partner," he simply stated as he held Natalia's hand and stared ahead.
Gwen stood completely astonished, wondering what type of game these two are playing and why they've decided this. She wasn't aware of how to continue if it meant sharing this last dance with him, the one person who she longed to spend every waking minute next to.
Steve took a deep breath, preparing himself as he began taking quick yet steady steps. He wanted to be perfect for her, to help her win this as he knows she simply agreed to this to please her mother. It seemed everything she did was for her family so he'd be a complete fool if he failed her.
His lips parted, starting to curve upward as he found himself floating in her direction. He bumped into a few couples along the way, one of them he was certain had been Nancy and Jonathan, but he couldn't care less as all he wanted was to be by her side. Just holding her hand, feeling the softness of her delicacy against him, and admiring her blushing cheeks up close.
She looks so beautiful.
"Hi," he said.
His voice made her heart start racing, "Hi."
"You look amazing," he told her.
He always knows the right thing to say. It's so hard to refrain from smiling that all she can do is pinch herself to not smile like an idiot.
"I guess we're partners now."
"I guess we are," Steve held out his hand, trying to control his trembling hands and only focus on not melting upon her touch, "Henderson?"
Not taking her eyes off him, she reached for his hand and said, "Harrington." Their fingers held tightly to each other, memorizing every inch and every line as they stood face to face.
Song guide for this scene - "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper
Right as the song started playing, the symphonic melodies entranced them like a siren luring sailors to the depth of the seas. A gentle bow was exchanged between the two as their right hand came around, allowing their eyes to do all the talking and all the confessions from having to endure the torture of their near touch. From their left hand coming around, then came both hands, making every second count as they craved for a feeling of their physical connection.
Never once did their enchantment vanish. Not even when she felt the caring nature behind his hand as it lay gently on her back, or the way their fingers collided and danced along to the soft chords.
All she could focus on was the sensation of just being with him. She never understood how her mother described the love for her father as him being the air she breathed, but now, she understood it perfectly.
She wanted nothing more than to allow herself to be loved by this man. To bury her fears and insecurities as just staring into those doe eyes, she felt like she could reach for the stars.
For Gwen, Steve had become her light. He was the candle that illuminated her path to the well of her longings. He was the brilliance in her obscurity and the stars in an empty night.
The time, the place, the reason was forgotten as all they focused on was loving their world that stood in front. It didn't matter if everyone was staring at them. No one else mattered but them. They were each other's universe and no one could take it away from them.
With every spin, every step, they never lost sight of the greater picture. They viewed everything that happened as a curse, but it surprisingly became a blessing from bringing them together. If it weren't for those things returning, they wouldn't have happened. Unless some sort of divine intervention would've chosen to join them for whatever reason.
Just as the last lyric faded into time, the crowd stood up in applause. Cheering them on from how perfect this routine was. Eventually, bringing them to release their hold and wait for the next step.
The group dispersed, each following their partners for a few drinks while they went their own ways.
Nearly a second later, Mayor Kline interrupted their short break to announce the winner, "It is our honor to announce this year's winner..."
This was it. The moment that determines if she'll make her mother proud or disappoint her. She wasn't the least bit hopeful of winning when seeing how beautiful and perfect the rest of the girls were. Truly anyone who wins rightfully deserves their victory.
"Gwendolyn Henderson!"
The entire ballroom erupted in cheers, especially her family's table as she was able to make out Dustin's voice as he kept yelling, "That's my sister! That's my freaking sister!"
The lights shone brightly on her, making her squint her eyes as a white sash with the words Miss Hawkins '84 was placed over her.
Steve watched her in complete adoration and cheered as loudly as possible. All he could think of was how much he loved her and how incredibly proud he was. From at first believing this whole event was rigged, he now knows that it can't be. She won this because she deserves it and what a better way to end the year than seeing her incredibly happy.
"Congratulations to our new Miss Hawkins who did not only win today, but she has been accepted into NYU! Congratulations and best of luck in the Big Apple!"
New York? Does that mean she's leaving?
The mere thought of never seeing her again was more terrifying than death itself. The worst that could happen was starting to unravel. She was going to leave, to abandon him and forget he ever existed.
He had a choice to make. To ask that she stay, but how can he ask such a thing when this is one of her greatest dreams? How can he be selfish to demand such a thing? But right now, he couldn't think straight as he was broken again from losing someone he could never have and never will.
If she's gone, there's nothing left anymore.
She could be leaving next week, the next month, or even in a year, it still wouldn't matter as no amount of time would be enough.
He couldn't bear to look at her any longer. Seeing her face would only make it harder to let her go, so he began leaving the room.
"Hey, Steve!" Dustin excitedly walked over to him, ready to brag about his sister when he was surprised he was ignored. He watched as Steve left the ballroom, filling him with concern that something happened between him and his sister. Now shoving everyone out of the way, he dragged her by the arm and asked, "Did something happen between you and Steve? Why did he seem so upset?"
She felt something drop within her, bringing a look of bewilderment as she started searching for him in the sea of people. When she wasn't able to find him, the sudden panic of everything going completely wrong burdened her.
"Not that I know of, but I'll go look for him," she rushed up the spiral staircase, searching in every room while ignoring the swelling in her chest. Now was not the time to panic as she needed to find him and make sure he's alright.
Steve was nowhere to be found. Not a single trace of him was left, only making her heart drop from fearing everything had worsened in a matter of minutes. Every possible thing that could happen to the man she loves crossed her mind as she continued searching frantically.
Gwen ended up in the back garden. She tried calming herself that maybe he just drove back home. Maybe he got tired of this constant circle they're running around in.
She took a seat in one of the benches underneath a wooden gazebo that was decorated with twinkling lights. The main building was so far in the distance that it seemed she had found an isolated place by the forest, but its privacy was refreshing. It allowed her to take a breather and recollect herself as Steve must surely be alright, and yet, she couldn't stop thinking the worst.
Did she drive him away? Did he finally realize she's not worth loving?
"You're supposed to be inside." A voice from behind her said, bringing back the life that was sucked right out.
Now standing up, she quickly adjusted herself to get a better glimpse of him. A mixture of relief, pure bliss, and anger filled her. She was glad he was safe and sound, but even more angry he made her worry for nothing.
"I looked everywhere for you," she told him, "Where the hell have you been?"
He stared at her with wide eyes, "So now you care for me? That's- that's just great."
"Why are you so upset?" she asked.
He adjusted his posture, running a hand through his hair before gathering the will to gaze upon those bewitching eyes, "When are you leaving?" His question caught her off guard, making her unable to give a proper response, "Soon after graduation?"
She nodded, "That's the plan."
He stared off into the night, searching for anything that'd ease this feeling of becoming lost without her. He wondered how he'd be able to ask if there's the slightest bit of a chance she could stay, but all he could say was, "And you're just going to leave Dustin behind?"
She breathed in heavily, "I'm not leaving him. He has our mom and his friends, and apparently you now."
"And you didn't even think to tell me?!" he exclaimed.
"Why would I tell you? You're forgetting that we're not friends so this doesn't concern you at all," Gwen said in frustration as she started making her way past him, but he stood right at the exit as he was determined to get the last word.
"It does when your brother is constantly complaining about it to me," he lied, praying she believes him and doesn't question him. "Do you know how annoying it is to listen to him talk about you all the time? Of having to deal with hearing about someone so... stubborn?"
She scoffed, taking a few steps back, "I do because all I hear is your stupid name all around the house whenever he comes home. Always the same thing, Steve did this, Steve went there, Steve is perfect." Uncertainty on why she was angered started to cloud her mind, "I can't ever catch a break from you! Not even here because you just had to agree to being Natalia's escort."
"And that bothers you?"
"Yes!" she blurted out, regretting her choice of words that made her attempt to correct herself. "You being everywhere is incredibly irritating!"
Steve cursed to himself, wondering how in the world he'd managed to fall for someone so inflexible and so frustrating. He had never met someone that made him drop to his knees, to make him feel so weak and helpless - yet he absolutely loved it at the same time.
He took a deep breath of composure and tried ignoring every sense of desire prickling to escape, "How do you think you make me feel?"
Gwen tried to suppress any kind of surprise, but she had failed as he noticed the way her brows turned downward, how her eyes melted upon his comment, and the way she played with her hands whenever she became nervous.
With a highly strung voice, she managed to bring herself to say, "You know what? I'm not dealing with this anymore, so if you'll excuse me, I'm heading back inside."
"Can you just agree to talk to me?" he snapped, "You've always been like this. Always try to find a way out when things get too complicated. You run away and try arguing your way out of everything." Her body tensed at hearing him read her so well, "You're just so... complicated and too stubborn that you're unwilling to follow a simple request."
Her head turned abruptly in his direction. Her gaze had hardened as she found nothing but a tragedy in his words.
Unwilling to follow a simple request.
"So that's what this is about? Me not agreeing to your demands?" he denied everything, shaking his head while frustratedly starting to pace all around, "If I don't agree with you, don't expect me to follow your orders. Ever."
"That's not what I meant," he reprimanded, "It's just... I've never met someone like you. You were never afraid of being yourself and you didn't care what anyone said," she listened much more calmly now. "I tend to say the wrong things because you make me nervous."
Something changed at that instant. It felt like needles were stabbing his heart as his nerves burned just seeing her stand so beautifully. He swallowed hard, clenching his jaw as he wasn't sure how much more he'd be able to resist her.
"Just go inside," he firmly stated.
Knowing it's what needs to be done, she was halfway out when her need to argue kept tugging at her. Was he ordering her again?
She took a step closer, "Is that an order I hear?"
His eyes widened in disbelief, refusing to believe she wasn't catching on to his need that she leaves to prevent himself from kissing her.
"Just. Go. Inside," he repeated slower, giving her one last chance.
She denied him, "No."
Gwen didn't realize just how close she was until she felt his lips press aggressively on hers. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and ran her hand through his soft hair.
His hands pressed onto her back, slowly lowering themselves until reaching the end of her dress to raise it. His fingers made their way to her inner thigh, emitting pleasurable touches as they entered her, causing a moan to escape her as she bit her lip.
"I'll stop," he panted, "Say the word and I'll stop."
"Don't you dare," she growled and pulled him through the collar of his shirt as she hungrily kissed him while ripping open his buttoned shirt.
Steve gently pushed her against the wooden pillar and reached for the zipper of her dress. He smiled when hearing it drop to the ground as she was left with nothing but her black thong and matching bra.
"You're so fucking beautiful," he muttered while placing his hand behind her hair and pulling it gently, causing her to smile deviously as she lowered him to the ground.
He placed kisses onto her breasts, tracing down to her stomach and waist until using his teeth to lower her thong, making it fall to the side as she felt his tongue pleasure her in every way.
She moaned, "Holy shit."
He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her down until he was on top as he held her hand, "Are you sure?"
"I'm definitely sure," she assured him and watched as he took out a condom from inside his wallet and began placing it on. She couldn't help but smile at how prepared he came. Almost as if he knew he'd be needing it.
He leaned down over her as he positioned himself in between her legs and began pushing himself inside. He smiled when hearing the moans escape her lips as she wondered how in the world was she able to resist for so long.
She could feel how hard he was, which made her smile at the power she knows she has on him. He leaned down to her face and kissed her as he thrusted himself slowly to make sure he wasn't hurting her in any way.
His movements were gentle yet also firm, making her love how he pleasured her in every possible way. His pace quickened as he pushed himself even harder, causing louder moans to escape them. She raised her head slightly and captured his lips as she traced the outline of his abs. She threw her head back as he thrusted deeper.
His hand was still holding onto hers as more moans escaped their lips. Steve reached down and placed kisses on her neck and all around her breasts as he listened to the pleasure escape her.
The wooden creaks increased the harder he thrusted that made them became louder. She bit the inside of her cheek to try and quiet herself, which made him go in even deeper.
She loved the way he made her feel. The way their bodies fit each other perfectly and how the touch of his skin felt like electricity. Everything was just perfect.
