The first date

The bar door opened, and Luke walked in.

"Hello, stranger." I smiled, making him chuckle as he sat down at the bar.

"Double whiskey?" I asked.

"You know me so well after only a month." He smiled. I returned it as I grabbed a glass. I filled it and gave it back to him.

"Thank you." He smiled before downing it and putting the glass back on the counter.

"I did come here for a reason, and I need to ask you before I get too drunk." He chuckled. My eyebrows furrowed at him.

"Ask me what?" I asked. He looked at me timidly.

"Would, erm, would you like to go on a date with me?" he asked quietly. I smiled.

"Sure." I spoke, earning a smile from Luke.

"Brilliant. There's this really nice Italian restaurant down the road." He said.

"I know the one." I smiled.

"How about there? Tomorrow, before your shift?" he asked.

"Sounds good." I smiled.

"Great. See you tomorrow." He smiled, leaning forward and pecking my cheek before standing up. I smiled, biting my lip as he left the bar.

"Was he as shy as everyone thought that he would be when asking out a girl?" Alexa asked.

"Oh yeah." I smiled, making her and the audience chuckle.

"He didn't find it hard to say, but he almost looked like a lost puppy, which only drew me closer to him." I admitted. Alexa nodded.

"I got a lot of creeps in that bar. I would get asked out regularly, either by a guy who was too drunk to stand or by a guy who clearly only had an interest in getting into my pants. But Luke, Luke was different. He would come in, sit in the bar, order his drink and would just talk to me. Just small talk most of the time. He was always very respectful, he never said anything that would upset me or make me uncomfortable." I smiled.

"Anyway, back to the date?" Alexa asked.

"Of course." I smiled.

Luke walked into the bar. I looked at him and my eyes widened slightly at his appearance. He was wearing a white dress shirt that was unbuttoned at the top, showing off his chest, with black skinny jeans and a black dress jacket over his shirt.

"Wow. You look good." I nodded in approval.

"Why thank you." He chuckled.

"Two minutes, I just need to get ready." I smiled before heading into the back.

I shut the back door and walked back to the bar. Luke looked up from his phone.

"You ready-Jesus." His eyes widened as he stood up and looked at me. I looked down at my black cocktail dress and my black stilettos.

"Is it too much?" I asked quietly. He looked at me.

"No, not at all, you look stunning." He breathed. I smiled.

"You ready to go?" I asked, grabbing my bag.

"Yeah." He nodded, waiting on the other side of the bar. I walked around and smiled as Luke held his arm out. I chuckled and shook my head as I wrapped my arm around his, making him smile as we left the bar.

Luke and I sat in the Italian restaurant, laughing and talking.

"So, how did you end up working the late shifts in a bar?" Luke asked, looking at me. I shrugged.

"It paid well when I was eighteen. Then it started to pay less well the older I got, but I didn't go to university, so I don't really have the qualifications to get another job." I spoke.

"Well, what are you good at?" he asked.

"Writing." I nodded.

"Become an author." He smiled. I chuckled and shook my head.

"I don't have enough perseverance to write an entire book." I spoke before looking at him.

"What about you? What's your job?" I asked.

"Promise you won't laugh." He spoke sheepishly.

"Why would I laugh at your job?" I chuckled.

"My ex laughed when I first told her." He sighed.

"Okay, I promise I won't laugh." I nodded. He looked at me.

"I'm the lead singer and guitar player of a band called 5 seconds of summer." He admitted. My eyes widened.

"That's so cool!" I laughed, making him smile.

"You think so?" he asked.

"Yeah." I nodded. His smile widened.

"So, how come I've never heard of you guys?" I asked.

"Well, our first album isn't even out yet, so we haven't had much recognition." He sighed. I nodded.

"You'll get it. I'm sure that you're amazing." I nodded.

"Thanks, Y/N." he smiled, making me return it.

"So, this is me." I nodded as we walked to the front of the bar.

"Did you have a good time?" Luke asked.

"It was amazing, Luke." I smiled. He returned it.

"So, can I call you my girlfriend?" he asked nervously. I smiled at him and nodded.

"Yes. I'll be your girlfriend." I spoke. He smiled before leaning down and gently pressing our lips together. I returned it eagerly, holding the back of his neck to keep him close as he gripped my hips. I broke the kiss and smiled at him.

"See you tomorrow, babe." He spoke.

"See you." I smiled, standing on my toes and pecking his lips again before opening the bar door. He chuckled as he walked away, biting his lip.
