Welcome back to Thunderstruck
"It's good to have you back" Casiel offers him a side hug, to which he happily accepted.
"It is pleasant to be back, daughter of Banner" The booming voice spoke. Casiel laughed softly.
"Shall I take you to Mr Stark?"
"That would be great, thank you." Casiel grasped his arm and appeared in Tony's penthouse, causing Morgan to fall off her chair at the sudden appearance.
"We have doors for a reason, Cas!"
"Sorry Starky-"
"I literally scold Vision for this sh!t all the time!"
"Mini Stark, the angel meant no harm" Thor commented. This caused Morgan to chuckle softly, agreeing eventually. Vision enters the room via the elevator.
"SEE" Morgan shouts, causing everyone in the room to stare.
"I'm getting scolded for not using the doors" Casiel spoke to Vision, who laughed easy.
"I've been scolded so many times, the door is more of a habit." Casiel laughed loudly at Vision's comment, earning a side glare from Morgan.
"Incident on floor 12" Friday boomed suddenly. Casiel, frustrated, goes to respond, but is stopped by Vision.
"You've done plenty today, I'll handle this" Vision spoke softly, descending through the floor.
"I am deadass jealous you guys can just walk through things like-" Morgan began a tangent of power vs technology, causing both Casiel and Thor to tune out.
Bucky walks in through the elevator with Steve, both laughing. "What, is our penthouse the new local hangout?" Pepper spoke jokingly, walking to warm her tea in the microwave.
"It appears to be" Thor boomed, sitting heavily on the couch beside Steve and Bucky, who greeted him with a hug and inquired to his recent activities.
"Oi Morgan, did you do the English practice essay?" Rachel called from the elevator.
"Nah I haven't started, have you?"
"You better have started it Miss Rogers!" Steve interrupted Rachel, who laughed sheepishly.
"It's due first period tomorrow" Casiel raises her eyebrows, sipping from a coffee cup literally no one saw her grasp.
"Not everyone is a highly intelligent angel, Cassie"
"Mind your tone Rogers, I'll turn you into a frog or something." Despite it being an empty threat, she didn't pursue the topic further.
'Probably out of caution.'
While bickering and conversation occurred, Casiel appeared on the rooftop, peering out over the city. A small grey cat appeared beside her as she sat, rubbing again her legs.
"You know, Mr Barton, it is extremely difficult to sneak up on an angel."
"Eh, I do my best" The reply came as he sat beside Casiel. "What are you doing up here?"
"I love watching the city come to life at night. Humanity is beautiful at the best of times"
"It can very well be" He chuckled softly. "How much of humanity have you seen?"
"Angels are lucky. We live extremely long lives, in different forms. I, unlike most angels, chose to make those forms apart of society. I mean, I've been a builder, teacher, doctor, single Mother, single Father...I've done it all and more."
"Did you ever get tired of it? Of humanity?"
'Oddly philosophical for Barton.'
"Never. I lived through the wars, I've seen every sorrow and pain. But I've also seen joy, and unity"
"So if you lived through all the wars-" Barton meant his legs over the edge "why did you never involve yourself? I mean you're a very powerful creature."
"Angels never try and alter the fate of the universe. That's when it really, as human's say, 'hits the fan.'"
"You brought back Tony, and Vision" Barton murmured pointedly.
"We had the capacity too, due to the minimal impact on drastic future events."
"And Nat?" The sadness laced Barton's voice.
"She unfortunately was in too close coordination with the soul stone...we would alter too much of we rescued her, as much as I fought too" Casiel's voice saddened. "I tried, I promise. New York, Sokovia, Wakanda. Every war, I fought alongside her and we had a bond. I'd give everything to bring that back, Mr Barton." He patted Casiel's shoulder softly.
"Don't blame yourself, you did the best you could. She would've been so proud of you" He rose to his feet and exited to the stairwell.
"She's proud of you too, sir" Casiel spoke, eyes up to the sky.
Casiel rested patiently, before scooping up the grey kitten and descending through the floors to floor 42, getting a string of choice words from Morgan, who saw her descending between floors instead of using the elevator like she'd been instructed.
She walks passively through the hall into the apartment, her Father sleeping heavily on his bed. She placed the grey kitten on the edge of the bed and closed the door, walking to sit on the couch outside the bedroom. A selection of metal parts appear before her and she begins to tinker with them, attempting to make a robot in the most human fashion possible.
"I knew you'd still be up" Luke speaks loudly as he enters the room. She hushes him calmly.
"First off, my Dad is sleeping, and secondly, we have the closed door for a reason" Casiel laughs gently.
"Hey! You damn well descend through floors!" He whisper-yelled.
"Aight, you got me there" She threw her hands up in defeat.
"Anyway, Vision is looking for you-"
"Oh, yes! I completely forgot. Send him up, if you see him."
"I will, also, can you zap me to my floor, I can't be bothered riding the elevator the whole way down" Luke whines. Casiel laughed outwardly.
"Can fight monsters but won't wait for an elevator-"
"Please, Cas?"
"Of course" She laughed softly, snapping her fingers.
Vision ascends through the floor. "I would use the door but-"
"Don't worry about it Vis" She places a chess table from thin air, and they calmly play a few games, chatting about life on the other side of Thanos' failed conquest. A sharp migraine penetrated Casiel's head and she groaned, holding it.
"Are you alright? What's wrong Miss Banner" Vision pursues, concerned.
"One of my brothers is here" She groaned, rubbing her temples.
"One of your brothers-?"
"An angel" she looked up suddenly, glancing into Vision's eyes. "If an angel coming the whole way down here unannounced, something is very wrong, Vis."
