Vision's human skills

"Hey Mr Stark" Casiel greeted, earning a side hug.

"Hey Cas, how was the first day back?"

"It was good, uneventful" Casiel laughed softly.

"Hey Dad!" Morgan greeted her Father, walking to kiss him on the cheek. "Whatcha working on?"

"Minor improvements to your suit" Tony spoke, tweaking near the neck with his screwdriver.

"You didn't put that baby monitor program again, did you?" Morgan groaned outwardly, a sheepish expression passing over Tony's face. "Dad!!" She whined, pouting with frustration. Casiel outwardly laughed, covering her mouth after Morgan death stared her.

"I had too! Also Cas, Brucie is in his lab. I haven't been able to cheer him up all day."

"Thank you Stark" Casiel nodded as she exited the lab, hearing Tony yell 'what did I say about eating in my lab Morgi' as the door closed. She walked down the hallway into Bruce's lab, placing her bag down in the corner, placing Chaos in her shoulder. "Dad?"

"Hey sweetie" He spoke almost in a whisper, tinkering with an iron legion at one of his numerous desks. Cassie lifts the legions head, staring into its lifeless robotic eyes.

"Rough day much" She murmured, placing the head down carefully. Bruce barely lifted his head to look at her. "Dad?"

"Yes, love" He sighed softly, frowning as he adjusted the legion's head.

"I know I caused you to be upset, I apologise."

"It's alright love" He murmured softly, his voice indicating otherwise, causing Casiel to frown.

"Don't lie to me" Her voice came out much firmer than she intended and Bruce's head raised to meet her eyes, saddened like a puppy after receiving a scolding. "Father-"

"Miss Banner, you have been requested on floor 43" Friday interrupted, causing Casiel to sigh softly in defeat.

"I'll see you later, Dad." She jogged up the stairs to the lift, pressing the button, eyes downcast as the doors closed. "What's up Vis" Casiel murmured as she entered the kitchen.

"You are distressed" He commented, eyes piercing into her.

She could never quite hide from Vision.

"What is wrong, Miss Banner?"

"It's fine, don't worry about it" She murmured, walking to the pantry to investigate the items within.

"Cas-"

"Vis, I'm alright" Casiel spoke more sharply then she'd intended. Siting his glance, she spoke more softly. "I'm really sorry, Vision. You know you mean a lot to me, I don't mean to snap...I'm just having a hard time."

"I understand Cas, you needn't explain" Vision smiled with understanding. She appreciated him not broaching the topic further, she was just too tired for this conversation. "Are you able to slice the vegetables for me?"

"Yes of course" She grasped the small knife beside her. "What are you making tonight?"

"It's what the humans call 'Nacho's'" He spoke, Casiel laughing at his use of air quotations.

"Ah yes, a great choice for tonight. Has Mr Stark picked the movie?"

"I believe he chose 'the Matrix'"

"A classic" She grinned, slicing the jalapeño. Slicing once more, she murmured in frustration as she cut her finger. She gracefully moved to the sink, washing her hand under running water. Vision turned and grasped her hand gently, inspecting it.

"It might be best if we use a small plaster" He spoke, handing her a bandaid from the open cupboard above her head. She sighed heavily, head down.

"I'm going to be the most useless human on Midguard."

"Don't say that Cas"

"But am I wrong?" She pursued, wrapping the bandaid around the cut. "Vision, I don't know if I even have the capacity to function as a human-"

"Neither did I, Cas, but I learnt" He reassured, taking over in slicing the remaining vegetables.

"Do you honestly believe I can do it, Vis?"

"Yes, of course I do. Cas, I know you can" He encouraged her, sliding the capsicum aside. "You can do this, you've been through a lot worse than acting human." Casiel pondered to herself, heating up the popcorn in the microwave.

"Thank you, Vision" She smiled softly after a while, turning her head to look at him.

"Anytime, Cas. Just trust me, I had to learn to be human too."

Bruce had said very little at the dinner table, poking at his food wordlessly. Casiel knew he was starving, he just wasn't eating.

Concerned, Casiel helps clear the table but leaves her father's plate, hoping it would encourage him to eat. His head follows her movements around the kitchen, before staring at the food and looking the other way. Casiel frowns, frustrated, and starts towards him.

Tony almost stuck his arm out to stop her. She must've looked more enraged than she realised.

She grasps his shoulder very tightly, causing him to whimper, trying to scan his health as she would normally. She held this position, unable to hear around her she was concentrating so intensely. Her head was dizzy and the sound of rushing water swim through her ears.

The bracelets shocked her harshly from overstimulated force, causing her to jump back and groan from the violent electric current. She opened her eyes to her father's pained expression and quiet whimpering.

"Oww! What was that??" He grumbled at her, rubbing his shoulder. The table stared at her in disbelief, Casiel was just as horrified, she had no idea she was hurting him. "Earth to Cas?"

"I-I-I" Casiel looked like she was about to have a heart attack.

"Sit down Cas" Steve ordered suddenly, seeing her increasing panic. In front of her eyes, Tony had moved the top of Bruce's jumper down, inspecting his shoulder, which had already began severe bruising.

"S-Start the m-movie without m-me." Casiel fell, before she fased and with a blinding flash she was gone.

The bracelets didn't allow her to get far, she had only been thrown to the floor of the lab, shattering a vial beside her and crying out when the glass bit into her hand. She sat against the lab desk, head resting on the stool beside her, holding her aching wrists against her chest with her left hand holding the cut on the right, darkness swimming through her vision as she lost consciousness from her fading strength.

Casiel jolted violently in her sleep, calming when she felt a warm, gentle hand running through her hair, the soothing voice of her Father bringing her back to reality. He was speaking too her, she couldn't make out the words but they calmed her.

Her Father.

Casiel's eyes flew open and she scrambled away from him, breathing heavily. "What are you? Crazy?"

"Calm down sweetheart-"

"I h-hurt you!! W-Why on Midguard are you t-that close to me?!"

"Because you're my daughter" He tried to get closer again.

"N-No!" She cried, resting her head in her knees. For Casiel, it was extremely rare for her to show vulnerability, even to her Father.

She sat shivering, back against the freezing stone of the lab walls, for a long while, until Bruce crawled up and sat directly beside her. He unravelled his woollen blanket from around his shoulders and placed it around hers, hushing her softly, head resting on hers, like he used too when she was an infant. She would raise her head and push him back, but he held her tight, whispering softly too her. Eventually she gave in, hugging into him tightly, head snuggled into his shoulder as she cried.

Then she broke down.

She held a fistful of his jumper as she rambled, sobbing about hurting her Father and being a threat to her family. All her pain just kept pouring out, she ended up sobbing and trembling in her Father's arms, his wrapped tightly around her, protecting her.

Tony Stark entered the lab at 3:47am, not daring to turn on the light when he heard snoring. He slowly walked around the table, to find Casiel curled up tightly in an upright ball, blanketed in her sleeping Father's arms.
