2. HOME?
It is spring.
In December.
She was starting to think too much about this. Strange. It was really strange. But who can blame her? Blame it on the humans. They are destroying this beautiful planet and who would know, It might rain garbages from the sky one day.
But things are being much strange today.
They both sat in comfortable silence. The sky was slowly painted by the dark abyss. The twinkling stars started appearing in the sky like how rainwater drops fall in stagnant water. He decided to go to their house.
House. He wouldn't call it a Home. Why?
"Where were you two so long?" A cold icy voice ripped through the air which made them shiver as soon as they entered. Jimin came inside closing the door, standing awkwardly. "We were practicing Dad," Jimin said in a nonchalant tone or at least he tried to make it as real as possible.
"Practicing?! You two. How can you be like this? And Jimin! Don't you dare lie to me? I asked the security there and he said that you two left the place before the time you should!" Mr.Park said anger filled in his voice.
The Park siblings can't believe that. Why he has to ask someone about us?
"Dad. It was me. I was too tired with work today, and Jimin has nothing to do with this." Ji Ah said in a voice that was almost a whisper. But they heard it. The sound in the room was empty, but it was filled with so much tension that started suffocating them.
"I'll make sure this doesn't happen again, father." Ji Ah said, bowing her head down. But it was not her fault. Jimin was the one who took her out.
He hated this. He hated whenever she took the blame on her. "It's my mistake too. I took her away from that place. We thought we could be peaceful at least there." Jimin said, his soft voice now hard. His jaw twitching in anger. He felt angry whenever his elder sister defended him. He thought that it should be the other way around. He wanted to give all the protection, care, and love in the world to her.
Ji Ah looked at Jimin. Oh god. This is not the time for your anger issues. Ji Ah thought. Tonight's gonna be a long night. She sighed for, maybe there are no numbers to count how many times she sighed. Words can't tell her exhaustion. Yet, she had to handle all these.
"PEACEFUL! After everything I have done for you, this is what you say?! No wonder your mother left you two for me to take care of!" He said his anger at his peak. He never liked it when Jimin talked back.
But you know what makes Jimin angry?
The mention of his mom.
How long has it been? Almost twelve years. Isn't it. He scoffed. His face scrunched in disgust. Anyone can say that he was disgusted whenever they mentioned his mom. He would shout in anger. Punch them. Kick them. Even tried to beat a kid so badly on a street just because he badmouthed his mother during his high school times.
But there is much more than anger and disgust in those beautiful chocolate eyes. Hatred? Pain? Fear? Maybe all the three.
Hatred on himself that he was not good enough for his mother to be beside him.
Pain that she left him alone in this cruel world, to suffer by himself.
Fear that he would lose another loved one... Or worse, he would lose himself in these thoughts.
He still remembers it clearly. Like it happened yesterday.
He was eight that time. Leaning on the door, he hugged his yellow plushie tightly. Pink hair messed up as he just woke up by hearing shouting from his parent's room. Ji Ah was there too. In her nightgown. Both of their eyes held tears in them. Their parents were arguing. Again. None of the siblings knew why the fight started. But all they know was it will end in,
One, Mom locking herself and crying alone.
Two, Dad storming out and only God knows where he goes.
But either way, the Park siblings didn't hate their parents. Even though there were fights, a few bumps here and there, they were happy. Their family was just like any other family.
Things were going smoothly for three months after that argument. They even went on vacations enjoying the summer holidays like how everyone did.
One day, when young Jimin was coming home from school, he heard loud noises while unlocking the door. His parents were fighting again. But this time not with words. He saw his father slapping his mother hard on the face. His mother held her red cheek with her palm, looking at her husband in disbelief.
He could not believe it. His father is a good man. Why did he change like that? He didn't know. After all, an eight-year-old child knows nothing about this world. His eyes stung at the thought of his mother getting hurt.
He ran forward, standing in front of his mom like a guard. He thought of himself as like a superman, saving people from the person harming them. But one thing was the difference here. He was crying. Tears streamed down those soft puffy cheeks, eyes looking both of his parents softly, begging them to stop it.
Usually, Ji Ah would be there. She was thirteen at that time. She could make them stop fighting. But this time it was only him and he was scared of what they might do to each other. "Stop it, father. Don't hit mom. Please." He begged with that sweet voice of his which was hoarse right now as he started to let out little sobs. The weather was exactly reflecting how he felt. Thunder stroked the sky and cold drizzles started pouring down in pit pats. His father's face started to calm down, looking at the young Jimin crying.
But his mother was frozen in shock. Never once she believed that her husband would disrespect her. Not after everything she sacrificed for him. Only for him.
And on that day, just like that, she stormed of carrying a bundle in her hand. Out alone, in the cold rain.
Jimin waited. Mr. Park's heart ached in the thought of how his son would feel. He comforted him that mom would come back and asked him to go to sleep. Jimin was awake as long as he could, waiting to sleep in his mother's warm embrace. The next day, the cherry blossoms started falling. The season was like spring. But just before that day it was raining. Strange...
Days turned into months and years. Memories of the times with her were kept safe. Yet she never came back. Every time he went to his home, he comforted himself that his mom would be there. Her beautiful face would welcome him with warm hugs and kisses. He would sleep in his mother's embrace for hours. Eat the food she cooked specially for him and Ji.
But he didn't know that he was living a lie. Everything was a lie. She didn't come back. Nobody even heard about her. The surprise to him was that his father didn't even file a complaint that his wife was missing.
Even though she went on her own will, how could she not come back to see her children?
Jimin loved his mother. No. Loves his mother. Still does. And maybe that's why it hurts more than anything when anyone talked bad about her.
"It's all your fault that she is gone". Mr. Park said in a low tone. But it was enough for Jimin to hear it. Clear enough to bring him to tears. Clear enough for him to run out, shutting the door hard behind him. The faint voice of Ji Ah calling him to come back was all he heard.
His feet carried him away from the house. He didn't know where he was going. But he needed some time alone for himself. The chill wind caressed his face, wiping the tears that streamed down. He needed to clear his mind. He needed to vent out his anger. His father's voice echoed in his mind repeatedly.
"It's all your fault that she is gone."
It was his fault. Yes, it was his fault. But the only thing is, he doesn't know what was that he did. What was that he did to cause them to argue. What was that he did to make his mother leave. He didn't know. And he would die to know but, no one said that. He knew his father is hiding something but he didn't know what that was.
He thought about what he was doing right now. He was running away. His pace started slowing down.
What is with my family always running away? And I am doing the same.
He shouldn't be running away. His sister would be worried for him. He should go back.
Just as he was thinking about it, he came to know that he lost his way while running so blindly. This surrounding was new for him. He looked around to find something familiar so he could find the way back. The chill crispy wind blew causing him to hug himself for some warmth.
Ah there. That same park. But wasn't it the other way? He was positive it was there in the other direction. Anyway, he could maybe sit there for a while, clear his mind and head back.
Jimin's phone rang bringing him back from the string of thoughts going through his head.
Ji Ah. That name brought a smile to his face. It was his sister. But she is more like a mother to him. She gave the love that every mother could give and he was so grateful because she was taking care of him always. But what was he? Nothing but pain. Look, even now he is bothering her.
He hesitated for a moment, then slid his finger over the phone to attend that call. He heard a sigh on the other side. The static was loud. He could hardly make out what she says.
"Jimin are you okay?" There again, she goes all worrying for him. The static made it hard to hear, but still, he could figure out what she was saying.
"Yeah. I am." He replied. But is he okay? His voice could easily give away that.
"Come home. Let's talk okay?"
"Hmm." He didn't want to worry her anymore. "I'll come in half an hour," he said.
"Come back before it gets dark." The phone line ended with a beep. The static was so high in this area. And the network connection was not very stable.
What is wrong with this? Is it this place or my phone? He didn't know. He went to the same stone bench they both sat on. But now it was different.
There was a guy with green hair sitting there. His back facing Jimin.
Just when Jimin thought of finding another seat, that green-haired man turned around. Jimin was standing there stunned. Maybe even a little scared.
His face was pale. He was wearing a dark green suit and his hair was looking soft mint green. He stood up, with hands in his suit pocket. He was impressive and stunning... His features didn't seem like something humans would have. The man looked at Jimin tilting his head to one side, causing his hair to move away to see his eyes.
But the thing that caught his eye was the eyes of the stranger.
It was a piercing green? And it was glowing?!
