"So how's it living in the Meeks-Martin home?" Wes spoke through the phone as he went on his daily jog.
"It hasn't even been 4 hours Wes and I've been checked on nearly 100 times." Aurora said, peeking out of the curtain that covered the window in the guest room and as on que the sound of a knock came from the other side of the door, causing the King girl to quickly turn around.
"Hey, sweetheart. Me and Mindy are going to run into town for a few things but we'll be back in about an hour, two hours tops. If you need anything, Chad is right next door in his door." Ms. Meeks explained. "Do you need anything before I go or want me to grab you anything while we're out?"
"I think I'm good. Thanks, Ms. Meeks." Aurora said, smiling at the lady. "Also thank you so much again for letting me stay here while my mom's away."
"It's no problem. You're always welcomed." Ms. Meeks said, sending the girl one last smile before closing the door behind her.
"Make that 101." Aurora said, causing Wes to chuckle lightly on the end.
"They're just worried, Rory. You did get stabbed twice, not even 24 hours ago." Wes said, letting out a breath as he walked up to his house. "People tend to worry about those they care about."
"I hate it when you're right." Aurora said, watching the familiar car pull out of the driveway, quickly freezing as she heard Wes yells 'Jesus'. "Wes. Everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. It's just my mom." Wes explained, causing the girl to let out a breath of relief. "I gotta go but I'll call you later."
"Fine. Enjoy dinner with your mom." Aurora said, taking a seat in the bed. "Love you, Wesley."
"Love you too, Aurora." Wes said, causing a small smile to form on the girl's face. "Bye."
"Bye." Aurora said, pulling the phone away from her ear, hesitating to press the red button, but before she had the chance it disappeared as the boy pressed it first. Letting out a sigh, sitting the phone onto the bedside table before lifting her feet onto the bed.
10 minutes later the sound of knocking came from the door before the Meeks-Martin boy peeked his head into the door.
"Hey." Chad said, sending the girl a small smile as he stepped into the room, lightly closing the door behind him.
"Hey." Aurora said, watching the boy as he made his way to the bed, lightly lifting the girl's legs, making a seat before placing her legs on his knees.
"How you feeling?" Chad asked, messing with the string hanging from the girl's ripped jeans not once looking over at her.
"I've been better." Aurora joked, noticing the boy's not moving a muscle or cracking a smile, causing the girl's smile to fade. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"I was so worried about you, Rory." Chad said, shaking his head at himself. "I-I thought I was going to lose you last night. I mean I should have been there with you knowing that goddamn Ghostface was out to get you. It's all my fault. I let you go because I knew you were upset with me -."
"Hey, hey." Aurora said, moving her legs off the boy, moving to sit next to him, grabbing the boy's hand, causing him to finally look over at the brunette girl as she noticed his glossy eyes. "I don't blame you. For any of this, do you hear me? I blame whoever the fuck is behind that goddamn mask who did this, not you, okay?"
"I thought I was going to lose you last night." Chad said above a whisper, looking into the girl's eyes.
"I promise, I'm fine, it's just a few stitches. I don't plan on going anywhere." Aurora said, pressing her forehead against his, causing him to close his eyes as he let out a shaky breath. "Okay?"
"Okay." Chad said, nodding his head as he opened his eyes, placing a sweet kiss on her forehead as she wrapped her arms around the boy, laying her head on his shoulder.
After a few minutes of silence, the boy spoke up."I love you."
That caused the girl to lift her head from his shoulder, looking over at him to see him already looking at her.
"I didn't know what I was feeling but after almost losing I finally realized it; I'm in love with you Aurora King and I don't know what I would have done if I had lost you. I promise what I have with Liv will be over tonight." Chad admitted, causing the girl to look down at their intertwined hands. "And that was a lot. I didn't mean to just sprain it on you-."
"No, no it's fine." Aurora said, nodding her head, looking back up at the boy with a small smile. "I love you too."
"You do?" Chad said, a smile forming on his face the size of Cheshire Cat.
"I do." Aurora said, nodding her head letting out a small chuckle.
That caused the duo to lock eyes, slowly leaning in as their lips connected.
"Can I be honest with you?" Aurora said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear after they pulled away.
"Of course." Chad said.
"I'm really scared." Aurora admitted, nodding her head, sending the boy a sad smile. "I feel like all of us aren't going to make it out of this. I mean this is what happened to all those other kids."
"Hey, don't worry about that. We'll all be fine." Chad said, placing his hand on the girl's cheek. "We're going to survive and we're going to go to college and live our lives."
"And if we don't." Aurora asked.
"Then we won't go down without a fight." Chad said.
"Okay." Aurora said, nodding her head. "It's funny actually, this morning at the hospital I was talking with Wes and-."
The sound of the girl's phone ringing filled the room, causing the duo to look at each other before Aurora slowly reached for her phone.
"It's Sam." Aurora said, quickly answering her phone. "Hello."
"Rory!" Sam frantically said, the sound of police sirens were heard in the background.
"Sam, what's wrong, where are you?" Aurora asked, causing the boy to look at her concerned.
"I'm at The Hicks house." Sam slowly said, causing the King girl to instantly get it. "It's not good."
"No. No! I was just talking to him not even an hour ago." Aurora said, letting a tear fall down her face.
"They found him and the Sheriff, they were stabbed to death." Sam said, causing the girl to let out a cry. "I'm so sorry, Rory. Wes is gone."
"No. I don't believe you." Aurora said, quickly shaking her head.
The King quickly hung up the phone, quickly going to her recent calls, tapping on the most recent call.
"What's going on?" Chad asked, causing the girl to ignore him as she placed the phone to her ear.
The girl called the phone at least 5 times before there was an answer.
"Wes, thank god." Aurora said, letting out a shaker breath and a chuckle as she pushed her hair back.
"I'm sorry. This is Deputy Brooks." The voice rang on the other end.
That caused the girl to quickly drop her phone, looking over at Chad with sad eyes as he pulled her into his arms as she cried.
"What is Rory?" Chad asked, rubbing the girls back.
"It's Wes. They killed Wes." Aurora cried out, causing the boy to freeze for a second before rubbing her back.
"It's okay. We're going to be okay." Chad whispers to the girl, letting her cry into his arms as a few tears streamed down his face.
