eight

It had been 8 months since the rain of terror over the small town Woodsboro caused by Amber Freeman and Richie Kirsch. It had also been 8 months since Aurora King found out the true identity of her father; Roman Bridger, one of the past Ghostface killers.
After the big reveal Aurora couldn't help but to hold anger against her own mother from the truth her mother had kept from her all her life.
After the death of her best friend, Aurora couldn't help but to feel somewhat guilty just because of where she came from and how it ended in his death. It also didn't help the King after her own mother told her she would end up a psycho killer like her father because it was in her blood. She didn't care if her mother was drunk or not; drunk words are sober thoughts in Aurora's eyes.
Since it all happened, Aurora thought it would be best for her to continue staying in the Meeks-Martin household until the gang left for college in New York; Blackmore college to be exact.
Her, Tara, Mindy, and Chad all grew closer as a unit after the death of their friends and their near death experiences at the hands of the same killers.
It also helped Aurora and Chad's relationship as they leant on each other as they healed together after such a traumatic experience.

Loud music filled the ears of the King girl as she maneuvered past the bodies of the drunk college students as they danced throughout the college frat house.
Letting out a loud sigh as she plopped herself down on the couch beside Mindy and handed over a beer to the Meeks-Martin girl was sitting beside a new friend of the core; Anika Kayoko, who also had something going on with Mindy.
"Hey were's your costume?" Mindy asked, taking in the girl's appearance. "You usually go all out for Halloween. It's your favorite holiday!"
"I guess you say I wasn't in the spirit this year. Especially since I found out where that love came from." Aurora spoke, taking a sip from her cup as she looked away from the Meeks-Martin girl.
"It doesn't bother you guys?" Anika spoke, causing the two girls to turn their attention to her.
"Does what bother us?" Aurora asked, raising an eyebrow as she took a sip from her newly filled drink.
"I mean being at a house party after almost being brutally murdered at a house party." Anika said, causing Aurora to let out a light chuckle.
"No." Mindy said, shaking her head at the girl's assumption. "I think of it like being struck by lightning. The odds of it happening twice to the same person are extremely low."
"Hm, interesting way of putting it." Aurora said, letting out a hum as tapped her cup against Mindy's bottle.
"Ah. I guess I should stay close to you then." Anika flirted as she tossed her legs onto the Meeks-Martin girl.
"Is this how I act with Chad?" Aurora questioned, causing the pair to give the girl a look.
"Yes." They quickly answered together.
"But it's cute." Mindy said, shrugging her shoulders. "I'm glad to see my brother and best friend happy."
That caused a smile to form on the King girl's face before watching her Tara Carpenter come stumbling a bit through the party.
"How are you doing, T?" Aurora called out to the girl, causing the Carpenter girl to turn and wave with a giggle as she continued walking towards the drink table. "Should I follow her?"
"Na, she'll be fine." Mindy said, shaking her head as she looked from Tara to the worried brunette beside. "Let her live a little."
Aurora nodded her head as she slowly looked away as she lost the small girl as who stumbled her way into the busy kitchen.
Sipping from her drink as she scanned the room, watching mostly drunk college kids just having the time of their lives not having a worry with the world.
"Uh... oh. I don't love that." Anika said, quickly getting to her feet, gaining Aurora's attention as she watched her approach Tara who had her hand interlocked with a frat boy, causing her to quickly follow after.
"Hey, do you want to call it a night?" Anika asked, reaching for the Carpenter girl's hand, causing her to quickly stop as she turned to face her while Aurora eyed the frat boy.
"No, uh... I think I'm still gonna actually hang." Tara said, stumbling over her words as she looked between the trio. "But you guys don't have to wait for me."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of her." The frat boy spoke, smirking at the girls as he held his hand out toward them. "I'm Frankie."
"And I'm honestly very uninterested in learning anything about you." Aurora said, letting out a scoff looking at boy in disgust before she locked eyes with Tara. "Why don't we go back to our place and watch a film or something and call it a night. We can even watch The Babadook for like the millionth time."
"No, dude, Rory. I'm not that bad." Tara said, leaning toward the girl before she began walking away. "But I appreciate you looking out for me."
"I'm going to find Chad. Keep an eye on her." Aurora said, causing the couple to quickly nod before Aurora quickly made her way through the party looking for her boyfriend.
Finally spotting him in the corner dancing with the group's other new friend and his roommate; Ethan Landry.
"Hey, sorry to interrupt your bromance but Hobbs and Shaw are very much needed." Aurora said, locking eyes with Chad, causing the Meeks-Martin boy to quickly stop as his face went serious, causing the girl to grab his hand as she led him to the problem that was unfolding before them as Ethan was hot on the couples heels.
Quickly spotting Tara and the Frankie guy, Chad to make way up the bottom of stairs as Aurora stayed back with Ethan.
"Hey, partner." Chad called out, causing them to stop as they turned and faced the boy. "Tara's good down here."
"I'm sorry bro I didn't catch that." Frankie said.
"Yeah, you did." Chad said, letting out a low chuckle.
"No, Chad. It's fine." Tara said, making her way back down to the boy. "I want to. Rory tell your boyfriend that it's fine."
"Yeah, see Chad." Frankie said, stepping down getting into the Meeks-Martin boy's face before going to grab Tara. "She wants to."
The Frankie guy grabbed her hard, causing her to stumble back into the stairs causing her to let out a sound of pain, causing Chad to pull him off the stairs.
"Why don't you get your fucking hands off her!" Chad exclaimed, pushing him towards a wall. "You got a fucking problem?"
"Get the fuck off me!" Frankie said, pushing the boy hard in his chest.
"Guys, Stop!" Tara called out, leaning against the railing of the stairs, watching the two boys push each other.
"Guys, guys." Sam said, quickly stepping between the two as she lightly moved Chad back before looking the frat boy in his face. "Sorry to interrupt. I'm just gonna tase you in the balls real quick."
Before anyone had the chance to fully comprehend, the older Carpenter sister said the frat ball was falling to the ground after she pulled out a taser and used it on him.
"Don't ever lay hands on my sister." Sam said, standing over the boy as he shook and held himself on the ground.
"You fucking bitch!" Frankie screamed out.
"Sam." Tara said softly, causing the girl to quickly turn around, coming face to face with her younger sister. "Are you fucking kidding me? You're stalking me now?"
Before Sam had the chance to respond Tara passed her and everyone in the room, quickly leaving.
"Holy shit, it's that psycho girl!" Someone called out, causing Sam to look around as everyone had their phones pulled out pointed at her before she quickly stormed out after her sister.
"Come on, guys." Aurora said softly, grabbing onto Chad's hand, leading the rest of the group out the door after the upset Carpenter sisters.
"Tara, will you stop?" Sam called out after the small angry girl who was almost 3 feet in front of her.
"I can't believe you did that. You embarrassed me." Tara said, looking over her shoulder as she continued her fast pace.
"That guy was a dick." Sam said, causing Tara to finally stop as she turned to face the group. "He was gonna take advantage of you."
"So?" Tara exclaimed. "If I want to hook up with an asshole that's my decision! It's my decision! It's not about you! You, you're out of my life for five years and then you can't leave me alone for five minutes."
"Because you're not dealing with what happened to us." Sam said. "Have you gone to see the counselor once."
"No and I'm not going to!" Tara said quickly shooting the idea.
"Why not?" Sam questioned.
"Because I'm uninterested in living in the past like you are!" Tara said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Sam asked, sounding hurt but her younger sister's words.
"Hey, guys come on--" Chad spoke, trying to calm the sisters down as he stood behind them with his arm draped over his girlfriend's shoulders.
"It means I'm not gonna let what happened to us for three days define the rest of my life." Tara explained.
"So you're just gonna pretend it never happened?" Sam questioned in disbelief.
"What are you doing here Sam? In New York?" Tara questioned, speaking softer as she brushed the question off. "I mean, you're working two shitty jobs to help with rent, whatever, but what's your plan? I know what I'm gonna do. Okay, 'cause I'm gonna keep going to college, I'm gonna get my degree and I'm gonna live my life. My life. Okay? I know. You just followed me here and you won't let me out of your sight."
"I'm just trying to look out for you." Sam said softly, shaking her head.
"I-" Tara started, letting out a frustrated groan as she covered her face before looking back up at Sam. "I know. I know you are. You can't do it for the rest of my life, though. You have to let me go."
"Hey!" A random girl exclaimed, gaining the group's attention as through her drink onto Sam's white sweater, causing everyone's jaw to drop shocked. "Murderer!"
"What the fuck is wrong with you bitch?!" Sam exclaimed, pushing the girl before Tara and Chad quickly held the older Carpenter girl back. "You got a problem with me?"
"You guys should stay away from her, she knows what she did!" The random girl called to the group before pointing at Sam.
'Yeah, and you should keep walking and get your fucking facts straight bitch!" Aurora exclaimed but before she could move, Anika and Mindy stepped in front of her. "She didn't do shit!"
"Yeah, sure." The random girl said, turning away as she walked away with a group of friends.
"I'm so sick of this shit." Sam said, fixing her sweater once she was let go after the girl and her friends were far enough.
Chad quickly intertwined his fingers with Aurora as he led her away with Mindy and Anika after Tara as she quickly walked away.
