Year 2015 (we're going back in time in this biznitch, so be prepared for confusion)

Charles Lee
Age 16

Charles never fit in with the rest of the school. Sure, he had a friend, but that friend was friends with Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens, who Charles didn't get along with particularly.

So, he resorted being friends with the "Everyone either hates us with a passion or loves us, there's no in between" group. Of course, that's not the actual name of the group, but that's what people tend to call it, because of the people in the group.

There's the leader, George King, who's snobby and rich and slightly insane.
There's James Reynolds, who everyone hates, and he can't seem to fathom why.
There's Samuel Seabury, who didn't belong there whatsoever, but was part of the group anyways because he's King's sidekick (though he prefers to use the term "friend").
And, of course, Charles Lee, who's only there because no one else would talk to him.

One day, he decided to hang out behind the school during lunch, instead of in the cafeteria with the rest of his clique. As he was sitting on the bleachers, embracing the cool autumn air, he noticed a familiar redhead on the track.

Charles decided to watch him, intrigued by the small boy all of a sudden. He never paid much attention to Samuel, even whenever the boy spoke to him, but now, he seems fascinated by the boy.

He watched the redhead walk around the track, seemingly talking to himself. Without a second thought, Charles got up from his seat, and ran towards Samuel.

"Sam, hey!" Charles greeted, out of breath. "What're you doing out here?"

"Oh, Uh, I just wanted some fresh air." The redhead replied, brushing some of his hair back behind his ear.

Charles realized that the two, from a simple glance, look like complete opposites, simply from their color palette.

Samuel typically wore light or bright colors, while Charles typically wore dark colors. Samuels hair was even a sandy red, matching his light color palette, while Charles' hair was a deep indigo, almost black, like his natural hair color. Even the boys' eyes were an icy blue, while his own eyes were a deep brown, almost black in color.

Charles decided to walk along the track next to the redhead, while the two did small talk.

"Why are you even in the group?" Charles asked. "It isn't really a group for such an innocent bean like you."

"One, I'm not an 'innocent bean', whatever that means." Samuel retorted. "Second, I'm solely in the group because of King. What about you?"

Charles shrugged. "I don't fit in with anyone else, and the only friend I have is friends with someone who hangs out with Laurens, and I'd rather not get beaten to a pulp every day, thank you very much."

Samuel giggled, making Charles' face flush as the bell rang, indicating that lunch was over. Charles looked at Samuel as they stopped, smiling.

"I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" He asked. "Same spot and everything?"

Samuel nodded, smiling.

"I'd like that."

Some Leebury because that's my drug. Actually, any of my ships are my drug, especially the cute ships like Jeffmads or Leebury. There is slight Leeburr and Kingbury, but Leebury is where it's at, y'all.

Also, I'm trying to decide if I want angst or not. Probably not, because I don't think my heart can take it, since when I do write angst (which isn't often), I typically go big or go home (I mean, I once written a Zombie Apocalypse AU fanfic, and in one of the endings, everyone either died, ran away, or whatever, and the main character kills themselves anyway), so yeah, probably no angst of I actually want to keep my heart whole.

See y'all!
