Hey, everyone!! I thought Only would have been perfect for the party music!! (:

It felt disorienting as I made way inside the house. Without warning, the girls in the limo had formed a conga-line of sorts, linking all our hands together.

I didn't have time to look at Josephine with how fast we were moving, but I imagined her to be in hysterics.

I spotted a few girls clinking cups together and slurring their speech. Not one of them could walk a straight line. I knew they were undoubtedly drunk.

Despite everything though, I was glad the music they were playing didn't have any cuss words and wasn't too explicit.
The girls all let go of our hands, dispersing in separate directions.

I quickly found Josephine so she and I could stay together during this chaos. We both huddled near a far wall, away from the dancing students acting erratically. We stood for what felt like an eternity when Josephine finally broke the silence.

"Hey," she impatiently tugged on the sleeve of my cardigan, "We should ditch."

I let out a long, deep breath. "Oh, good. I was worried I was the only one wanting this. Let's go!"

Unfortunately, as we began to make our way towards the front door, Annie stepped right into our line of view, holding a red cup filled to the brim. As I stared at her, I soon noticed that she was pale and had both straps of her tank top hanging over her shoulders. She didn't look well.

"Where are you going?" She shouted over the pounding music.

"Um, we were just-" I began but was cut off by the same group of girls we had arrived with, carrying a tray of small shot glasses filled with colorful liquid over to us.

"It's time for shots!" One of the girls announced, taking a pink glass and drowning it almost as soon as she lifted it.

I began backing away, attempting to get myself out of this situation as soon as I could. I promised myself I wasn't going to allow myself to get drunk and I wasn't about to break that promise. Josephine just shrugged, not offering anything helpful.

Before I knew it, the same girl that had drank first appeared in front of me, practically pressing a shot glass under my nose. I could smell a strong stench that made me wrinkle my nose in disgust.

"Drink some of this Moonshine," she said. "It's really strong."

I shook my head vehemently. "Sorry. That's not my thing."

The girl smiled a bit too big for my taste. "Oh, no problem. We have vodka..."

I huffed, already irritated with everything so far. "No. I mean, I do not drink at all."

This caused the sorority girl to frown.

"Oh, well, in that case, you should at least smoke a vape," she paused to lean in to whisper in my ear, "I know you're new to this whole partying thing and it'll make things easier for you."

"Why would I need to make things easier?" I asked.

"I'm not sure if Annie told you but we're heading over to the neighboring frat and things can get a little crazy over there."

I continued to shake my head adamantly. "Oh no. My plan was to stay five minutes... tops..."

The girl seemed confused at this. "Oh, that's almost impossible to do at events like this, especially if you traveled by limo."

My eyes widened. I looked back at Josephine once more, who didn't have much to offer in return, then I turned back to the girl, not quite knowing what to do.

"Oh, come on," The girl begged, "It's not even that much. It'll be over before you know it. Just one shot."

I'd always had a good head on my shoulders, I knew that. I'd never felt the need to grab a shot glass or partake in the smoking of vapes with my peers, but I now found it a bit difficult with someone in my face about it. Was the reason I was always able to avoid these things because my parents made it so? I suddenly thought about weighing the pros and cons of smoking and drinking. I supposed there was a lesser of two evils.

It seemed that the rest of the group of girls seemed to have noticed I was fighting an inner battle because at  once they began tempting me to take a drink.

"Take a drink!"

"It's really good!"

"Just plug your nose and be done with it!"

As I felt the pressure from all the begging, I knew what I was going to pick before I even picked up a glass. Smoking I knew caused early cancer and that wasn't what I wanted. Technically drinking couldn't really cause any long-term effects, right?

I threw my head back, draining a purple glass. It immediately hit my bladder and I could feel the burn low in my belly. I didn't like this at all. I wouldn't be drinking anymore. This was foul.

"Yay!" Annie screeched. "Shall we head over to the frat?"

Before I could protest, both me and Josephine were being pulled towards the front door. I soon felt too weak to do much of anything. I wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or whether I was just growing tired, but what I was sure of was Josephine mouthing at me:

What did you just do?

I had no idea what I was doing.

Everything that happened next was no more than a fever dream- I seemed to have passed out and when I woke next, everyone was piling out of the limo.

What I saw next was vastly different from the sorority. Though the house was just as big and was blasting music, the music was more inappropriate and the lawn was littered with shirtless boys. In fact, a lot of girls from around campus seemed to be dancing provocatively with the boys.

No. I couldn't have been in the right place.

The group this time was more scattered as we made our way towards the entrance. The house read: AKT in big blocks atop the roof, standing lopsided. As I stared more around me, I saw the frat house was much more disorganized, with empty cups and miscellaneous trash littered all over the patio and trees. It was gross.

The living area inside the house, however, was more crowded than I would have liked and was littered with furniture that had been turned upside down. The furniture that had been left alone was occupied with boys and girls, making out and sitting in each other's laps.

What had I gotten myself into?

What I didn't expect was the person I hadn't seen all night and hoped I'd never have to see in the near future.

"Hey! We made it!" Annie screamed at the person who had just been sucking face with a girl I knew I'd seen before.

Hero swiveled around, grinning evilly as he did so. The black-haired girl that always seemed to be near Hero wherever he went, glowered as soon as she saw me.

This was going to be fun.

Hope you all are enjoying reading this. I try to update as soon as I can (:
